Personal Description:

I am an experienced mentor, citizen advocate and Union Rep., mainly concerned with the learning agenda (Union Learning Rep (ULR), Learning Co-ordinator, Training Officer, Tutor) and have been an active member of several learning related committees as well as health and safety).

I have experience of project management, responsible to Directors for accommodation and IT, in the learning environment and also in my current voluntary work. I am currently responsible for work based training in a specialist area and manage business improvement.



Teaching Experience:

I drafted and delivered a course for adult learners at a local College's Trade Union Centre in Mentoring and have more recently delivered in house Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA), Equality & Diversity and Challenging Behaviour/Dementia programmes with embedded Skills for Life Literacy to health care workers in conjunction with another local College. I have also been involved in teaching skills for life to ESOL and adult learners and providing one to one support to both ESOL students and those with learning difficulties (SEN).



Tutoring Approach:

I have been praised for my patience and communication skills with learners and have a creative mind when developing inclusive resources. I have excellent IT skills, for example, I run a forum and design publicity materials for a voluntary group for which I am the Press/Publicity Officer and local rep. I also manage a First Class online conferencing system for ULRs nationally.
