Personal Description:
Hello, I have a BSc (Physics / Chemistry), MSc PhD (organic chemistry) and a PGCE (Physics). I am currently working in an OFSTED outstanding school in Norfolk as the Head of Chemistry. I have also had the responsibility for the Physics department in the past. I teach Chemistry and Physics at A Level and I have a good knowledge of current specifications including AQA, OCR and CIE.

I have also been a Research Scientist for a number of years and teaching undegraduates and postgraduates has been part of my routine. I have also worked as a secondary school teacher for three years abroad, teaching Physics and Chemistry up to A-Levels. I am passionate about teaching science to the young and have hence been involved in a lot of outreach activities (clarifying NMR, visible Spectroscopy, Mass Spectroscopy, ect) at the UEA during my time there.

Teaching Experience:

7 Years teaching experience at A Level for Chemistry and Physics

Tutoring Approach:

One on one teaching is certainly different from classroom teaching and I like to use this opportunity to identify the strengths and weaknesses of a particular student. Each of my sessions are planned thoroughly with appropriate activities and teaching resources. Having sound basics for me is important for students to progress further and I therefore like to brush up on them from time to time depending on the needs of the particular student.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced tutor, proof reader and trainee teacher. Academically, I received my degree from the University of Birmingham (BSc Environmental Science) in 2013 achieving a 2.1 classification. In 2014-15 I studied MSc Surveying and Land Environmental Management at the University of Exeter (Penryn campus).

I am well organised, efficient and take a friendly approach to tutoring - as well as being hard-working and easy to get along with, I am reliable and prefer my lessons to be enjoyable as well as informative.

My passion for cooking, combined with another passion of mine; travel, has enabled me to spend considerable time in numerous countries giving me first hand knowledge of different languages/cultures and business environments. So far I have been fortunate to visit New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Korea, France, Spain, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Finland, Norway, Sweden and I intend to visit many more.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently studying for my PGCE part-time - and working as a supply teacher in local Birmingham schools.

I have previous tutoring experience with both young people (under 18) and international students since 2011. I have been able to help my past two tutees from UKtutors to A's in Geography GCSE and A Level respectively.
I also completed a 4 week internship in a New Zealand grammar school in the summer of August/September 2012, allowing me to gain classroom experience as well as helping out more recently in a primary school in Finland, teaching English.

Meanwhile, I tutor/help out my younger brother who is 18 and studying for his A levels.

I also have my own 'proofreading' enterprise and I have helped foreign students with their conversational English skills since 2011.

Tutoring Approach:

I take an informal approach but also ensure that sessions are structured well and tailored for each individual students' needs so every tutee is able to get the most from the session.

I am perfectly happy to re-arrange or cancel classes if necessary, I just ask to be notified at least 24 hours prior to the intended lesson.

Personal Description:
My interest in music began at primary school. I took instrumental lessons in flute and vocal tuition at the early age of 7 and piano aged 10. After quickly becoming involved in choirs, orchestras and solo performances I managed to achieve two music scholarships into two Independent schools.

Currently aged 21, I am a recent Music graduate from Bath Spa University. My studies included Opera, Singing, Composition, Performance, Musicology and Community Music. I have covered an extensive variety of repertoire, on all instruments, and performed on a number of occasions. Performances have taken place at St. Peters Basilica, The Pantheon, St. Peters Square, Bath Abbey, Wells Cathedral, Corsham Court, St Michaels Without, Worcester Cathedral, Bath Assembly Rooms and low key events such as termly school concerts and voluntary performances to the elderly.

Alongside teaching, I am interested in providing music-making workshops to local schools. I am also in discussion with the Worcestershire communities, to provide singing sessions for the elderly. Singing provides great enjoyment to many people, and working with community choirs is another factor of teaching I am interested in, as choral music is another great passion of mine. I enjoy composing new music and was honoured with having a recent Christmas composition performed in Bath Abbey's carol service.

Teaching Experience:

Alongside my studies, I have taught mainly piano to a handful of students. I enjoy teaching and consequently on the lookout for any new pupils of all abilities, who are seeking tuition.

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about teaching, and believe it's important that all lessons are fun and enjoyable for any pupil. Lesson's include a variety of activities in order to aid different learning styles, from listening to cd's, learning basic music theory and using colour to brighten up scores. For young beginners, I think that it is important to keep in touch with parents, so write in a notepad on a weekly basis about what practice is required for improvement.

I am CRB checked and can offer lessons during the daytime, evening or weekends. I am happy to travel to local areas of Redditch. For any further information, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified, UK trained teacher and an experienced tutor with proven track record in results and ability to successfully personalise my students' learning, based on their individual circumstances and preferences, whether it is learning Russian or Dutch for business, leisure and travelling or helping children develop their English and Maths skills further.

I can provide all levels of support: private language lessons for adults, document translations to or from Russian and Dutch, language tutoring of bilingual children/teens and fast-track language introduction/begginers courses. In addition, I have a particularly wide knowledge of providing general Russian/Dutch teaching for adults travelling to Russia, including countries of former USSR, where Russian is still one of the official languages, Belgium or the Netherlands, for work or family reasons.

I have completed a BA (Hons) degree in education (graduated with First Class Honours), a Postgraduate teacher training course (PGCE) and, most recently, a Masters degree in Education (MEd), specialising in teaching of gifted and talented pupils. I actively teach in British schools, thus this experience enables me to understand and apply current, most up-to date, teaching techniques and assists me in making the learning experience of my students engaging, productive and stimulating.

I am extremely flexible and reliable and I appreciate the importance of meeting the requirements of each one of my students in a shortest time possible. Therefore, I usually meet my prospective students for a free and totally informal chat, prior to agreeing to a programme of study. This allows me to assess your individual needs and design the best language training tuition program.

My rates are slightly higher than those of other tutors in the area, however with coming to me you get a fully qualified and experienced UK trained teacher, with outstanding subject knowledge and a passion for teaching. I will make sure you get the most out of your language progress as quickly as possible and guarantee that investing into my expertise will pay off!

Teaching Experience:

6 years as a private tutor
5 years as a teacher on International and National level in a range of primary schools, special educational establishments, private sector and Beijing University (taught English as foreign language)

Tutoring Approach:

Creating unique and personalised programme for each of my students to meet their individual requirements.

Personal Description:
I am a current A-level Chemistry and Biology examiner and moderator and author of A level Biology exam papers as well as textbooks and workbooks. I have worked in bioscience research and more recently in life science marketing and academic conference management in chemistry and biochemistry. I am a Chartered Chemist, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and committee member of the Protein & Peptide Science Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Teaching Experience:

I have several years' experience in one-to-one teaching, starting with giving undergraduate tutorials at the University of Oxford. I have been offering private tuition in A-level Chemistry and Biology for over 4 years.

I am able to tailor my teaching style to the individual needs of the student and to make best use of online and other electronic resources to help students to an understanding of the subject.

Tutoring Approach:

I start by identifying the particular needs of the student: do they have problems with understanding some or all of the subject; are there any areas of weakness that need to be strengthened; are there issues with exam technique that need to be addressed?

Even well taught students who have a good grasp of the subject can fail to achieve their full potential through poor exam technique. My earlier experience as a Chief Examiner, responsible for setting and marking A level exams, means that I have a detailed knowledge of the exam system and how students need to approach exam papers. My current examining experience has given me an insight into how to help students avoid unnecessary loss of marks by developing clear and rigorous approaches to their answers and to develop strategies to approach individual questions so as to maximise their performance.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher and have an Honours Degree in Languages: Spanish and English, The Cambridge Proficiency Certificate in English, the CLTA certificate and the Level 5 Diploma in teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DLLTS). I recently completed the Level 3 QCF Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
I am a very personable and open-minded person who enjoys working with people from different cultures and different ages. I am patient, dedicated and understanding person who is really committed to my job. I always try to get the best from my learners by creating and adapting my own teaching materials and my lessons are results driven.
Finally, I have a great passion for my job which I really love; moreover, having been a language student myself, I am fully aware of my learners` needs and possible difficulties when learning languages.

Teaching Experience:

I have seven years' experience teaching Spanish at different levels and to various age groups, and I am fully aware of the strategies which are appropriate depending on the students` level and age. I currently teach the NVQ and GCSE Spanish groups at Croydon College. I also teach a Beginners and an Intermediate group at CEL: Community Education Lewisham. I taught Advanced and Conversational Spanish to a group of 6 private students, at Microsoft.
I also taught Italian level 1 at Goldsmiths' University and Advanced and Conversational Italian at MAE: Merton Community Education. Also I teach Family Learning Italian at CEL: Community Education Lewisham, and Beginners Italian at Bromley Adult Education.
I am a Visiting Tutor for the CLTA at Goldsmisth's University of London. The CLTA is a programme run at Goldsmiths' College and at the Cervantes Institute, London. I teach both groups various sessions related to all aspects of adult language learning: learning styles, language learning theories, languages specific skills, practical aspects of language teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

I speak three languages - Spanish, English and Italian - fluently and I have the capacity to read languages across a broad range of abilities, aspects and requirements. I have been living in UK for about 10 years and I have a good understanding of its culture and customs which I think is very important because it helps a lot in understanding the learners` needs and backgrounds. I am able to handle different levels in the same class; for this reason, I like to bring different activities suitable for different levels and ages to my lessons. I think students should never get bored and that learning should be supported and stimulating all the time during a teaching session. I have a good understanding of what is involved in language learning and this allows me to create manageable lesson plans and engaging teaching materials.

Personal Description:
My name is Ellen and I have been teaching for fourteen years. I have a vast amount of interests and hobbies. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the cinema, eating out, theatre, walking, reading, eBay and I also work in a shop part-time too.
I have a clean driving license and I am willing to travel to pupil's houses, or they're welcome to be tutored at mine.
I am hard-working, committed and always eager to learn. I rarely have a day off sick, I just keep going!
I am also a member of a local meet up group, which is based in Chester and North Wales. I often participate in these events, I feel it has allowed me to meet more like-minded people. I'm a land lady on rented property, so I have to be professional and organised. This is when my teaching skills come into place!
I strongly believe you have to live life to the full, and grab every opportunity you can. Life's too short.

Teaching Experience:

I have a vast amount of teaching experience. I have taught in the primary sector, ranging from Nursery up to Year Six.
Within my teaching career, I have been a History and PSHE Co-ordinator, where I was responsible for up-dating the school's policy, ordering resources, monitoring other teachers performance in these subjects and organising educational visits too.
I always ensure children's work is marked daily, with constructive or positive comments on their work. I also think praising the children is important, this is done through reward systems. When in permanent teaching positions, I have always ensured that the environment is bright, colourful, fresh and stimulating. Wall displays, illustrating children's work from a varied ability is important.
I always ensure affective discipline is carried out in the classroom and I always accommodate for each child's needs, differentiating if necessary.
During my teaching career I have organised class assemblies in front of the whole school, ensuring that each child has a piece of reading to be read or an acting role to be carried out, the assemblies often link to their theme they've been learning that particular term.
I always follow the Foundation Curriculum and the National Curriculum in a professional way.
I can work as part of a team and communicate with parents on a professional level. I'm hard-working and always ensure that children are happy and stimulated in their learning environment.

Tutoring Approach:

I have been tutoring since 2007, however, in 2012 I did take a break. I always ensure my lessons are appropriate for the child's learning, and after a day at school, I always try to make the lessons as stimulating as possible.
Sometimes the tasks may relate to the child's experience, this is done through reading and writing. I also incorporate celebrations and multi-cultural events in the lessons too, I feel this broadens the child's outlook in life.
My lessons incorporate writing, reading and comprehension.
I always give feedback to the child and parents at the end of each lesson. I ensure my lessons are delivered in a professional manner.

Personal Description:
I am a native speaker of Russian, currently living in Manchester, university educated with years of teaching experience of Russian and English as a foreign language. I offer high quality Russian language courses via Skype and in person for foreign students of all levels.
I will help you to choose an appropriate individual educational program, and the quantity of hours per week. Whether you are a beginner, or at an intermediate or advanced level, I can offer Russian language courses suitable to you.
k.com/groups/truerussian/
Besides, I can provide a reasonable discount if you pay by a block of 5 lessons (it will cost you only 15 pounds (that is 23 dollars) per one-hour lesson by Skype or in person) via paypal though they take some minimal fees it is yet the cheapest way of payment. Or by bank transfer.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Oxana

Teaching Experience:

I am passionate about teaching. I hold 6 years of experience in teaching pre-school English (for children aged 3 to 5), English as a subject for years one to nine students, General and Business English for employees of different companies and Russian as a foreign language privately

Tutoring Approach:

I use the communicative method. The main focus is on using the language. You start speaking Russian from the very first lesson, even if you`re a beginner.
Russian grammar will be introduced to you in a clear structured format - you will see that there is an understandable logic. You will not be overloaded with grammar tasks and will learn only as much grammar as you need in order to speak and understand Russian.
If you`d like to use a book during the course, together we can choose a book that will best address your needs. At the same time, most lessons are held without the use of a book. The book would mainly be used for reference, providing structure, and homework material.
I like the idea of total immersion because we all really learn by doing, and the more you practice Russian, the more you will learn.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Anna. I'm an author and a poet, I have had many poems published, won first prize in an international poetry competition (2011) and have also brought out two collections, which are on sale on Amazon. In 2015 I published my memoir A Hippopotamus at the Table. Set in South Africa in the 1970s. I'm currently writing my second memoir, about to publish a book on Writing Memoir and teaching a Memoir Writing class to small groups. I have a blog which is updated regularly with articles about writing, poetry and events.

Teaching Experience:

I taught in Adult Education at a variety of colleges for approximately 10 years (until 2000) - my main subject was Ancient Egyptian History - one of the colleges was Birkbeck University (University of London) I taught undergraduates. I ran a class for a number of years before that for City University on Ancient Egyptian History. For 6 years I taught Information Technology (seminars) at London Metropolitan University, to first year undergraduates. More recently (2000-2014) I worked in Criminal Justice delivering Cognitive Behavioural programmes to offenders and also on another programme supporting victims of violence.
I used to host language students for St Giles English Language school and also for a year taught TEFL one-to-one.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is Socratic in delivery, to draw from the student what they know, what their interests are and expand on that. I like to bring students to poetry, and know about poetry from a variety of cultures from Moslem (like Rumi, Omar Khayam) to French and Afro Caribbean writers. I think learning English should be broad and interesting and make people think. My teaching method is through a conversational approach, short written exercises for identifying strengths and weaknesses, building on strengths and working on areas that require a structured approach for improvement. Learning should be interesting and it should be fun.

Personal Description:
I studied Economics at Cambridge University and then went on to play rugby to an International level and also coach at the same level. I am now married with 2 children and love helping people achieve their potential.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught A-Level Economics for the last 2 years at a non-selective private school. Last year, 1/4 of my students achieved 100 UMS at A2 and 1/3 achieved an A*. One student had achieved a D at AS and finished with an A* with a UMS average of 95. Prior to this, I played and coached sport at an International Level so have a real understanding of learning and how to help people improve, often starting with behavioural change and combining this with activities to maximise the students' learning. I also tutored several students last year including a mature student, all achieved the grades they required.

Tutoring Approach:

I use nudges to change behaviours in my students on an individual basis. We need to get to the stage where the student is comfortable teaching the subject matter to me and the whole course is connected rather than studied in isolation. I am incredibly supportive and adaptable to the individual but I the sessions will always be a challenge.

Personal Description:
I have many years of tutoring behind me and am currently studying for the Diploma in English Teaching to Adults.

I'm widely travelled and have spent many years living abroad. This has contributed to a high degree of fluency in Spanish and French. I acquire languages easily, being open to the cultures in which I find myself.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught exclusively in continental countries. One year in Finland, six years in Spain and two in Germany. In all cases the teaching took place in private schools or in company offices. Much of the teaching was 1 to 1, the rest being in small groups.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that language acquisition takes place when the learner is relaxed and so my approach may be considered informal. The choice of materials is a joint decision. Good classes can take place with or without them.

I also favour a communicative approach, which entails giving a needs analysis to all my learners.

Personal Description:
I'm 17 years old and am a current student of the Sixth Form at St Bartholomew's School. The four subjects I'm currently taking are Maths, German, History and Politics. In my AS levels I received an A in all three subjects I took, including in Maths. I am a big sports fan and am known to often watch football games at Hungerford Town and Reading. I can also be found at most Wales international home matches. I have experience in volunteering as a befriender for the Alzheimer's Society.

Teaching Experience:

I have a Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership, a course which I undertook alongside GCSEs, where I coached children in Years 3-6 to play sports. At school, I was a year long mentor for new Year 7s as a Year 9.

Tutoring Approach:

Patience is key. Children and young teenagers, who may find maths difficult, can easily become frustrated. It's up to a tutor to let the child overcome their frustration by enabling them to solve complex problems and to make maths interesting. It's often challenging for children to use up their spare time for extra tutoring, so tutoring must be enjoyable and enlightening in equal measure.

Personal Description:

I have tutored students at KS3, GCSE and A level. This has included 1 to 1 support, past paper practice and revisiting of skills and topics to build confidence and motivation as students work towards their exams.

Personal Description:
Education PhD student - can capably and confidently meet the educational needs of any potential student. Previous students have jumped several grade boundaries, obtained A*'s and attended their first choice university.

I work enthusiastically and effectively with students at all stages of their educational journey across a wide range of subjects. I have tutored students at primary, secondary schools, and sixth forms as well as lecturing on MA programmes and mentoring at a high security youth prison. I also help with university admissions and personal statements.

Teaching Experience:

Guest Lecturer, Durham University March 2016
Invited to deliver workshops to MA students on the Research Methods in Education module at Durham University. Workshops were focused on the use of experimental and quasi-experimental design in Educational research.

Responsibilities included:
Working in partnership with colleagues including administrative staff, lecturers, and the module convener to generate targets to direct student learning.
Selecting session content and setting objectives for learning, designing lecture slides and producing resources to be used within workshops.
Responding to student queries, providing feedback on assignments and suggesting reading materials.
Facilitating discussion groups and encouraging participation and engagement through role play and team problem-solving tasks.

One-to-One Tutor October 2014 - Present
Volunteer tutor preparing sixth-form students to undertake final exams and transition into higher education or the work place.

Responsibilities included:
Liaising with parents, schools, and individual students to generate targets to direct learning.
Formulating schemes of work to support students' specific needs - this includes timetabling sessions, outlining session content and objectives, and producing any resources to be used within the session. This results in a highly personalised curriculum for each individual student.
Regular evaluation and assessment of both student progress and satisfaction to further streamline curricula to suit student needs and improve quality of delivery.
Marking assignments and grading exam papers, providing extensive written feedback and reports to parents and students.
Creating interactive presentations, charts, graphs and infographics to illustrate and aid understanding of difficult concepts.

After-School Club Programme Co-ordinator October 2011 - July 2016
Programme co-ordinator for after-school Nature and Gardening Club at All Saints Primary School in Gilesgate and Arts & Crafts Club at St. Patrick's School, Langley Moor.

Responsibilities included:
Devising own teaching methods, style and approach whilst independently delivering lessons to children in both Infant and Junior year groups.
Designing detailed lesson plans for every session over entirety of academic year.
Allocating volunteers to classes in need of Teaching Assistants. This required matching volunteers and teachers through interviews and a rigorous application process alongside timetabling and organising transport.

This is an abbreviated list of positions held over the last twelve months.

In addition to these, I have learnt how to find new, interesting ways of presenting information whilst working alongside the Education Department at the Welsh National Museum. These techniques were put to good use advising staff at Butetown History and Art Centre how to make exhibitions more accessible to the public.

Furthermore, I also worked alongside adults and young people with a range of special needs as a volunteer with the 'Durham Otters' swimming club, mentored at Hassockfield Youth Prison and delivered sex education lessons in secondary schools and sixth forms with Sexpression:UK. This has helped me to mature in my ability to talk, and more importantly relate to, young people from all backgrounds.

Tutoring Approach:

Above all I strive for lessons to be interesting and engaging.

I try to quickly understand students' needs to put them at ease and make sure they are not over or underworked. I'm friendly, always have a smile on my face and as a student myself, I empathise with the struggles of studentship.

My objective as an educator is to harness students' existing knowledge of popular culture to bridge the gap between the complex abstractions they encounter within academia and how these manifest in everyday life. I make classes interactive by drawing on student experience and selecting content considering the interconnection between the subject matter discussed in lessons and current news or debates on social issues.
