Personal Description:
I am a highly experienced tutor with a Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering and Ph.D in Engineering (Expertise: High-fidelity numerical simulations).
As an undergraduate student at University, I was ranked number 1 with a top average of 83.4%; I was honoured to be the Top Engineering Graduate of the Year.
At A-levels I have passed the exams (Examining board - Edexcel) with straight A grades, and my mathematics mark in particular was ranked among the top in the world.
To date, I've also authored multiple high-quality scientific journal publications.
I am extremely efficient, reliable and able to adapt to people of all backgrounds and cultures. I have excellent time keeping skills and look forward to planning ahead. I am currently tutoring a large number of A-level and University students on group and individual bases.

HELP WITH COURSEWORK / ASSIGNMENTS & PROJECTS ARE ALSO OFFERED AT UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE LEVELS AND FOR INDUSTRY-RELATED WORKS.

Teaching Experience:

At present, I work as a Senior Teaching Associate in Mechatronics Engineering at a leading UK University. However, I have been working as a private/personal tutor for the past ten years, helping students at three main levels: A-levels, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. I also offer part-time lectures on Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Aerodynamics, Solid Body Mechanics (Statics + Dynamics) and Mathematics at Universities.

I have also published some academic journal papers, for example:
(1) Upscaling and its application in numerical simulation of long-term CO2 storage (2012). Akber Hassan, W. A. & Jiang, X. Greenhouse Gases: Science and Technology. 2, 6, p. 408-418 11 p.
(2) Modelling and monitoring of geological carbon storage : a perspective on cross-validation (2013). Jiang, X, Akber Hassan, W. A. & Gluyas, J. Applied Energy, Vol. 112, p. 784-792.

The current charge of 70/hour is only applicable for students who approach me within a limited period of time. My tutoring charge generally varies from 100/hour to 200/hour. Yes, I am a relatively expensive tutor, but I have a proven track record of excellent outcomes, unmatched by any other tutor/teacher/lecturer. In fact, I have made students who were failing their degree studies become university toppers (references can be provided upon request).

Tutoring Approach:

I approach students in many ways, however, this depends on the student's character, his learning abilities and how well he knows the subject. I would always be very friendly with the tutee and get to know where he/she stands in the subject(s). There will a faster rate of teaching with regular homework given to students to ensure that they understand what they will be taught. As the exams approach it will be a matter of fast track revision, and working through past-papers in like marking schemes. I strongly believe that this would increase the student's ability and confidence, and thus leading to better performance in their examinations. In short, good results would be assured for students with genuine interest in their studies.

Personal Description:
I am a teacher of exceptional qualifications and experience, acquired in both Bulgaria and the UK. My 5-year MA degree (English Philology, comprising of English and American Studies, Applied Linguistics and Theory and Practice of Translation, Grade 2:1) has provided me with a thorough and solid theoretical basis in all aspects of English. It includes a teaching qualification up to Level 7/8, validated as a full UK QTS by the GTC for England. I have also completed a second degree (with 1st class Hon.) and obtained a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults.

I am qualified and experienced to teach pupils from primary school to university (post-graduate) level as following:

- 11+ EXTRANCE EXAM FOR GRAMMAR AND INDEPENDENT SCHOOL EXAM PREPARATION - READING COMPREHENSION, MATHEMATICS, VERBAL REASONING AND NON-VERBAL REASONING, ESSAY COMPOSITION AND LITERARY TEXT ANALYSIS - FROM AGE 7+
- primary school: English, Maths, basic literacy and numeracy skills - KS1 and 2 Maths and English
- secondary school: English Language, English Literature, GCSE English Language and Literature, KS3 and 4
- A-level English Language and Literature - KS 5
- ESOL - all levels
- Citizenship - Life in the UK test
- IELTS - all levels
- English for Academic Purposes and proofreading FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS (academic writing skills, essays, reports, dissertations, projects) - undergraduates and post-graduates
- proofreading of academic assignments (essays, reports, dissertations, projects) - foundation, undergraduates and post-graduates
- help with writing academic assignments (essays, reports, dissertations, projects) - foundation, undergraduates and post-graduates
- Bulgarian language - all levels
- Russian language - basic level

Teaching Experience:

I have been employed as a PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER (ENGLISH), 11+ GRAMMAR SCHOOL EXAMS TUTOR AND ASSESSOR, MATHS TUTOR (PRIMARY SCHOOL, KS 1 AND 2), EAP, Business, IELTS, ESOL and English Language and Literature teacher and have worked at universities, colleges and schools across two countries. My experience teaching at four universities, and supporting children in schools and adults has helped me become an exceptionally versatile teacher.

I HAVE A VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING APPROACH, SHOWING UNDERSTANDING TO EACH STUDENT'S INDIVIDUAL NEEDS AND PREFERENCES AND TRY TO PERSONALISE LEARNING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. STUDENTS WARM TO ME QUICKLY AND ESTABLISH A GOOD RAPPORT FOR EFFECTIVE COOPERATION.

I have a proven record of tutoring students for a successful performance at the 11+ ENTRANCE EXAMINATION AND SUCCESSFUL ADMISSION AT GRAMMAR OR INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS.

All my primary school tutees have achieved their individual targets (whether improving basic literacy skills, or advancing in their level of reading or writing). The same success has been achieved in Mathematics.

My GCSE and A-level English pupils achieved 100% A-grades in their exams (both English Language and Literature).

I have tutored successfully for the Citizenship/Life in the UK test. I have the latest information of the test changes (from 2014). All my tutees have passed the Life in the UK test.

With university students I have expertise teaching the following academic skills:

structuring academic essays, implementing skills of cohesion and coherence and using the appropriate subject-related style
paraphrasing and summarising texts and applying correct grammar and suitable register in writing
using quotations and in-text citations and referencing them accordingly
delivering a presentation on a subject-specific topic, using Microsoft Powerpoint for effect
demonstrating understanding of key concepts and inferring the meaning of unfamiliar words from the context
developing speaking and seminar skills, useful for active participation in discussions and debates in the classroom and outside
interpreting numerical, statistical and financial data orally and in writing
demonstrating a clear understanding of what constitutes plagiarism and how to use the Harvard Referencing system for citation and the production of Reference Lists

At the academic skills pre-sessional courses at the University of Birmingham in 2012-2016 I gained even deeper experience supporting individual students with writing within very constrained time-limits. I guided all to success at their final assessments. I have had very positive feedback and comments of appreciation.

I have taught in various set-ups - whole class, pair work, group work, or one-to-one sessions. I am deeply interested in each student's individual learning needs and progress and one of my major strengths is differentiation. I sometimes prepare material at 4 levels of differentiation for a single class or small group. I use supportive strategies to boost students' confidence, at the same time challenging learners to achieve beyond their own expectations. I approach intense 1-to-1 sessions with the appropriate dynamics.

I am prepared to go beyond my 'job description' duties to help students with 'special needs'. I am interested in their individual circumstances and take them into account, where appropriate. I prepare resources to address their personal needs and interests. I review their progress and involve them in self-assessment towards autonomy of learning. I am familiar with the 'Assessment for Learning' policy and competent with implementing it widely.

I have worked successfully with students with dyslexia. At secondary school, one of my 'high-ability' dyslexic students scored an 'A' grade at her English GCSE, while another participated in a poetry competition. I have had success teaching students with autism and Asperger's as well.

I invest all of myself in my teaching. I am a highly trusted professional and have an exceptional rapport with my students. I am often quoted as a preferred tutor, who 'has the best way of explaining things' and 'is very patient, friendly and cheerful'. All students of mine - regardless whether at school, college or university - progressed by at least one level (even at short-term courses). A student with a debilitating illness on the BME, predicted to fail the course, not only passed it under my guidance, but achieved grades higher than his required level. In my 15-year teaching career I have never failed a student. I have achieved outstanding results at OFSTED observations. My latest annual lesson observation at BMETC was graded 'OUTSTANDING' and so was my performance at NAVITAS earlier this year. Another observation at BCU was unofficially deemed as 'the best on the course'. I have been invited to share exceptional ideas at training events and have also participated in numerous training activities at schools, colleges and universities. I often opt to peer-observe colleagues, to learn from their teaching styles.

Some more examples from my practice: a class of illiterate Yemeni housewives at BMETC, 2011, achieved a 100% pass at their ESOL exams, while 'advanced' international students at the BME, 2012 achieved some of the highest grades on the course. I have been successful dealing with pupils with behavioural problems at Harborne Hill School. Many reported an increasingly positive attitude to learning. I am a creative teacher and try to interest and enthuse students, so that they enjoy learning and celebrate their achievements.

Tutoring Approach:

First I negotiate the times and modes of tutoring with the parents of my potential pupil and agree on fees.
Then I organise a free initial meeting with the pupil and their parents, where I try to establish raport with the pupil. It is important, especially for children, to 'get a feel' of the new tutor and see if they can feel comfortable with her.
Then I try to access as much information as possible from the parents and the child about their progress at school and their attitude to school. If possible, I wish to see samples of the child's school work, or hear anything teachers have said/written about their progress.
During the first lesson I conduct an informal assessment of the pupil's skills - give them a piece of text to read, or free writing or short composition, or a selection of Maths problems to solve. When I get a clear picture of where my pupil stands with a certain skill, I create a short-term plan of work with them. I normally bring materials with me and do not ask parents to buy additional materials. If the parent wishes me to follow a certain self- help book, I am happy to oblige.
I update parents regularly of their child's progress - I try to do it after every lesson. I normally leave homework, designed to consolidate the material covered in the lesson, or develop their skills further. I wish parents to be involved as much as possible with helping or monitoring the completion of the homework.
I try to show my pupils as much respect as possible and affirm them as individuals. I acknowledge their birthdays, Christmas, or other family celebrations.
The parents can terminate the service at any time, with only one week notice.
I OFFER LESSONS VIA SKYPE AS WELL.

Personal Description:
I am currently a freelance writer and researcher working from home on a variety of subjects, including English Literature, Theatre/Film/Media Studies, Sociology, Psychology, as well as other Humanities. I am flexible about when I can tutor, to work round the schedule of others.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored GCSE, A-level, Degree and Doctorate-level students on a range of subjects, although my main focus has been English Literature and Psychology, and, increasingly, Sociology. At Cambridge I spent a few weeks working in a primary school, as I did when I was younger, and I used to teach primary school children at home as my mum was a childminder. I have run drama clubs and workshops, and worked with a host of young people, including those with learning difficulties. I have written model essays for exam boards, proofread and edited work to be published, and worked on many dissertations and PhDs with University students.

My students generally gain their desired grades at A-Level, if they apply themselves and take my advice on tips and tricks to help with revision - little and often is the key, as well as putting random words or theorists where you can see them everyday - like your mirror! - so they can become familiar and memorable.

Tutoring Approach:

I have access to previous papers and model exam answers, and ensure that I am clued up on exam specifications and changes. For English, I will of course always read the set texts that my tutees are studying prior to the first session. I like to mind-map various themes and ideas with the student, and think outside the box as it were, and always make sure that the ideas stem from the student's own work and thinking - so that they can remember it more fully and develop it in future (often students have more knowledge, ideas and insight than they realise, it just needs coaxing out of them!). I often tutor on coursework as well as examination preparation.

For Psychology and Sociology, a more systematic approach is required; I generally like to go over the material thoroughly, testing the student throughout, and spend time on previous exam papers and questions, planning essay answers, discussing how theories relate to real-life situations, and generally helping the student grasp what is required of them in the exam.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher with 8 years teaching experience. I have a 14 year old step-daughter with AD/HD who is also on the Autistic spectrum. I also have a 5 year old daughter who is very able and a 2 year old daughter. I have been married for 8 years. but with my husband for 15 years.

I am looking to offer my services as a private home tutor to help struggling students with or without additional needs.

I can get references for previous tutoring jobs, upon request, as prior to having my 2nd daughter I had been tutoring for 3 families, preparing their children for their SATs and helping with homework. I am currently tutoring twins in Year 3, helping them with English and Maths skills.

I am prepared to come to your child's home but also willing to tutor from my own home if required earlier than 6pm.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for 8 years after working as a Special Needs Assistant and then completing my Primary PGCE at Kingston University.

I have spent my 8 years teaching in Special Needs schools working with students with Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autism, AD/HD, Downs Syndrome, Aspergers, Cerebral Palsy, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and also visual impairments, as well as those with difficult home lives.

I have training in a successful Phonics scheme called Read, Write, Inc. Whereby students learn to read through intense synthetic phonics teaching which involves constant repetition and reinforcement enabling the student to learn effectively and quickly, gaining confidence in their ability. This would need some input from parents in order to be as successful as possible.

I absolutely love my job and now feel that it is time to offer my expertise, either in the evening or at weekends, to other children who find learning difficult and require a little extra help and support. I also feel that by my helping your son/daughter it will help you to cope with their needs in other areas without you having to worry about them struggling at school.

Tutoring Approach:

Wherever possible I would like to follow the schemes your child uses at their current school in order to not confuse them any further, but if this is not possible I will try to adapt my teaching style to accommodate ways in which they learn best. When it comes to teaching, students need to experience a variety of methods in order to find one that suits them. If this has not been established when I begin working with them it is something that I would work on quickly in order for the student to be able to start learning quickly and effectively.

Personal Description:
I am an Italian engineer who lives in London. I am currently working as an actor which is my passion but I want to make proper use of my solid background in engineering and my experience as a student in many different institutions around Europe by giving private tutorials to students. I am a very determined and ambitious person and I believe that many things can be achieved with strong will and the right tactics. As you can see from my CV which follows, I successfully studied in Iceland, Norway and England. I studied and worked with people from all over the world and with the most different cultural backgrounds. I myself am very interested and respectful of cultural differences and I am an expert traveller: I travelled extensively through Europe, Africa, India and Japan. What's more I have a degree in acting (2.1) from a very well reputed English academy in Birmingham (Birmingham School of Acting). I can speak English fluently and I have got a very good grasp of the language (in drama school we studied pronunciation for 3 years) and a very rich and flexible vocabulary. I enjoy staying with people and I like challenges. I take my responsibilities very seriously and I aspire to create a healthy working environment where the prime goal is the students' benefit.

Teaching Experience:

- Since I`ve been in London I have taught Italian to an English couple who have travelled to Italy many times, are really fond of the culture but have never got down to learning the language. I`ve also taught a Japanese woman who lives in the City and has working relationships with Italy. References available on request.

Moreover, I have tutored a 17 year old student form East Dulwich to prepare for and successfully pass his A-Level Maths exams. Reference available on request.

- In 2008 I worked as a teaching assistant in a kindergarten in Reykjavk for 8 months. This kindergarten had a special program of integration between kids with special needs (especially hearing impaired ones) and kids with no special requirements, which showed to be very successful. Besides assisting the teachers in taking care of the children daily, I was responsible of having a short weekly session to introduce children to English as a foreign language through playing and singing, which turned out to be very appreciated and great fun.

February - September 2008 Reykjavk, Iceland.
Teaching Assistant at the kindergarten "Slborg".

- During my years at university I continuously gave private tutorials of Maths and Physics to students of all ages from primary school to university level.

September 2000 - Fall 2007 Bologna, Italy.
Tutor of Maths, Physics and English to students from elementary school, high school and university.

Tutoring Approach:

Teaching is, without any doubt, one of the most important jobs ever. This might sound a cliche but it is what I really think. With almost 30 years spent as a student to gain two university degrees, I have encountered teachers form all over the world and experienced the most different teaching methods. A teacher can make the difference in a persons life, in a good or in a bad way. A good teacher can be a source of inspiration and can make you love a subject that you would have never imagined you could like otherwise. When teaching the student's benefit is the prime goal, this means that the teacher has to be able to understand what the student needs to access a specific subject, understand it, retain the information and be able to reuse it proactively whenever it is required of him. Since, as a private tutor, I work one on one with a student, I aim at creating a healthy and effective relation where the student feels comfortable to express what he/she doesn't understand and he/she can develop a positive attitude towards learning the subject under examination. Every student is unique, therefore the method used for each student is different. I plan to have a first session where I can assess what it is required of me and whether I am able to constructively interact with the student and then build a teaching program from that. I will commit to plan every session at home and come prepared to teach what is needed and I will expect that the student commits to doing his/her best to do his/her reading and homework.

Personal Description:
I am a graduate of Balliol College Oxford and have been teaching in London ever since leaving many years ago now. I live in West London with my family (although I am originally from Yorkshire) and like it here. We are all keen musicians too.

Teaching Experience:

As Head of Physics Department and then Director of Studies for two major Independent Sixth Form Colleges I have 35 years experience teaching A level Physics for many exam boards as well as examining. I wrote an A level revision guide for Penguin books called 'Masterstudies - Physics'.
I have taught mostly in small group situations but each year also teach a few individual students.

Tutoring Approach:

I enjoy communicating the underlying concepts in Physics and interactively building up a full picture of how the subject works for a student. I don't rely on a mathematical approach to the subject but encourage students to develop an all-round ability based on reasoned thinking as well as maths. Several students I have taught over the years have achieved 100% in A level Physics

Personal Description:
My name is Karan, I am a 22 year old medical student entering my fifth year of med school. Teaching is an important part of my future profession and so I have been tutoring since the age of 17. Alongside med school I am also a keen rugby player and play for my University Ruby team.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry at a GCSE and an A-level standard for three years. During my time as an A-level student I studied six A-levels at once (double the standard amount) and so understand the effort required to achieve a high grade.

Tutoring Approach:

I do not mind taking a relaxed approach to tuition so long as the student is reaching their objectives for the lesson set. If a student is failing to achieve what they are capable of than I feel it is my duty as a tutor to push them that much harder.

In order to be an A-star student, you need an A-star understanding of your subject. To gain such an understanding consistency and discpline in how you approach your work is required. I, as a tutor, aim to give my students these prerequisites for success.

Personal Description:
Hi, my name is Angela and I am a fully qualified teacher. I have been teaching for 4 years and during that time I have taught across the whole of the primary age range, from Foundation-Year 6. I am currently working as a supply teacher as I have recently relocated to the area, which I am thoroughly enjoying! This enables me to give much more time into tutoring. I am a hard-working, patient and likeable person who works hard to achieve goals.

Teaching Experience:

As before, I have been teaching for 4 years. During this time I have taught classes ranging from foundation to year 6 which has given me a wide breadth of the curriculum and how best to teach to each age range and suit needs of particular children. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and extremely enjoy tutoring as I notice the amount of progress that can be made from 1-1 tuition. During my 4 years of teaching I have been involved in an Ofsted inspection, in which I was graded 'Outstanding' for my work. I would like to use my teaching skills to support children who may need that 1-1 tuition to further children in their learning, in order to achieve the very best that they can. I have been tutoring for the past 3 years. In this time I have tutored mostly year 6 children through maths, literacy and reading support, as well as covering science. I have also supported younger children in years 1, 2,3, 4 and 5 through their day to day progress reaching their goals and beyond.

Personal Description:
I am easy-going, positive and creative, have a cheerful personality and outstanding communication skills which have always helped me to build excellent rapport with students.
I love what I do.
Teaching for me is not just a job, it's a vocation, a passion that help me be a better version of myself and as a result I am deeply respected and highly appreciated by my current and former students.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach is eclectic, practical and student centred. I design my lessons so that they suit every student's individual needs and I ensure that they are not only productive but fun as well. Personal Description:
Recent graduate of St. John's College, Oxford University, where I read French and Spanish.
Native English and Chinese speaker.
Currently an English tutor to Spanish speaker.
Interested in all aspects of language and literature.
Outside the curricula I enjoy researching the natural world, and playing the classical guitar.

Teaching Experience:

5 years tutoring in French, Spanish (general).
3 years tutoring introductory guitar technique.
Undergraduate science outreach volunteer for Natural History Museum, Oxford, where I designed and implemented life science workshops for high school students.

Tutoring Approach:

Very personalised, I will begin with the way that I found most useful to learn whilst studying for the student's relevant exam, and quickly adapt this to how they retain information.
I believe in the importance of telling a story whilst you teach, and always aim to give historical backgrounds and etymologies of vocabulary.
My skills lie in knowing how to beat the exam system at school in the most efficient way, and how to simplify complicated concepts into real-world analogies for students to digest and remember.

Personal Description:
Hola!

My name is Ximena and I am a Spanish tutor from South America based in Reigate

I deliver friendly and informal lessons aimed towards those looking to learn some basic conversational Spanish for holidays. I cover all the basics in Writing, Listening, Reading and Speaking.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience teaching students:

Children`s Spanish: Children's Spanish classes place emphasis on fun and learning - I use a variety of interactive resources such as wall charts, games, colouring sheets, memory cards. For younger children, resources are colourful, easy to use and exploratory. For older children, a beginners children's text book is used and supplemented with lots of interactive worksheets and games.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is a balance of engaging students with content relevant to what they need to learn while at the same time ensuring they enjoy lessons. Learning languages can be a challenge and it's important that students can see the progress they're making every week and being able to utilise Spanish in situations that are relevant to them.

Personal Description:
I first discovered my passion for languages when I was at school learning French and German. I was lucky enough to be able to participate in both French and German exchange programmes. It was here that I recognized the opportunities that learning a language could open up for me, both personally and professionally. I have never lost this passion and followed it right through university and, later, my professional career. More recently, I have come to see how having language skills is a massive advantage in the job market, both in terms of employability and job satisfaction. I have been to some fantastic places, met some fantastic people and been rewarded for my hard work for all those years I was studying.
"This was the main reason I started tutoring. I want to help other people have all of those extraordinary experience I was lucky enough to have. Watching my students' progress gives me a feeling like no other, as I know I am helping them shape their future

Teaching Experience:

As well as a number of different TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) roles in the UK and Austria, I have regularly done Tutoring in addition to main occupation. Working with pupils of a variety of different ages from primary school to adult learners, I have developed courses and learning materials from scratch, as well as working within a set curriculum or helping with set homework. Whatever your requirements, I am happy to work around them.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to keep it as relaxed as possible, recognising that people learn at different speeds and in different ways. My general approach is to supply my tutees with everything they need to continue to learn outside the class room, and to see the results of their own hard work pay off. Most important is to instill a sense of fun into learning languages, and to show how doing so will benefit anyone, of any age.
