Personal Description:
I am a higher level TA with ten years of teaching experience. I am 28 years old and I am currently working with young people up to the age of 18 with RMBC and I also work with young people with disabilities.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked in primary education for ten years. I have worked as a one to one with children with Special Educational Needs and developed my skills training to be a Higher level Teaching Assistant.
Throughout my time in Primary education, I have worked effectively with teams in Key Stage one and two. Due to my extensive experience and educational background I often cover for teachers. I am able to confidently teach from a given plan, adapting the teaching where required and utilising support staff effectively. I have a solid understanding of the essential skills and learning outcomes and have used this knowledge to support children where necessary.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a personalised learning approach. The activities I use are dependent on the child and the way they learn. I understand that children can learn visually, kineasthetically or can be auditory learners. Therefore I adapt my teaching and my activities to suit the learner.

Personal Description:
I have recently completed a PGCE Secondary course in ICT. I have worked with Primary School pupils, High School pupils and College pupils. As well as ICT I have also taught Maths, English and Science to GCSE pupils.

In my experience the benefits of one-to-one tuition are incomparable. When teaching a student I am able to tailor the teaching to address their specific questions and misconceptions, whilst covering topics at a far greater depth and speed than is possible in a class of 30.

By far the biggest benefit of tuition I have seen in my students is a vast increase in their confidence and to see them realise and believe that they can understand different topics and are fully capable of achieving high grades.

Teaching Experience:

Rochdale Sixth Form College - ICT Teacher
Abraham Moss High School - Trainee IT Teacher
Walkden High School - Trainee IT Teacher
The Tutor Trust - Maths, English and Science Tutor
Crumpsall Lane Primary School - Voluntary Work

Tutoring Approach:

I am an approachable, caring and understanding individual with the keen interest of helping people to achieve. I have an excellent ability to break down difficult topics to make them easier to understand. As well as being an ICT teacher I also have experience of helping children through GCSE Maths, English and Science and often to their desired grade. I am an honest and hardworking person who takes great delight in seeing pupils make progress.

I have the ability to differentiate work to cater for different individuals and make learning fun. I am creative and have the experience to use every environment as a teaching tool. I can guarantee you will make progress with my support and hope to be able to offer my services.

My main interest is in creating an enjoyable and comfortable working environment that draws up from the students personality and employs a variety of different learning type activities and lateral thinking exercises to obtain not only improved subject results but a greater awareness and confidence within their subject matter.

My tuition sessions are bespoke and are structured around the needs of the student. Throughout my teaching I place an emphasis on understanding why particular methods are used and how topics link together. I also ensure students are exposed to a wide variety of questions styles from across exam boards to develop their ability to apply these skills to unfamiliar styles of question. Above all, I aim to raise the confidence and expectations of my students and to see them enjoy learning.

During the first introductory session I will make an assessment of your ability and discuss what you wish to achieve e.g. a certain grade/better understanding of a particular area, or develop exam technique. I will then use this information to create an individual learning plan and tailor my tuition accordingly as we work together to help you achieve your goal.

Personal Description:
I am South American; I came to UK back in 2000 and made Sheffield my home city. Nowadays I enjoy my family life as much as tutoring diverse disciplines such as the ones named in this site as well as Nutrition, Running and Football.

Definitely to have the opportunity to offer guidance, support and encouragement to those willing to learn and improve themselves is very fulfilling.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience teaching both one-to-one and groups for a few years now in the disciplines named in this site. I prefer sessions to happen face-to-face but online is also fine with me.

Tutoring Approach:

First thing is to improve the tutee's self-confidence. Then to break down the big barriers into small knots that the tutee can undo with dedication and practice.

I encourage the can-do attitude. As someone once said - we do not know what we are capable of until we try.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for over 7 years now, both in local colleges and in pupil's private residences. I currently teach Computer Aided Design and Engineering Mathematics at Wakefield College as well as private maths and science tuition up to and including A level standard.

Tutoring Approach:

During my tutoring sessions, I make every effort to ensure the learning experience is both an enjoyable and interesting one. I use a variety of learning resources and tutoring methods to introduce a varied and innovative approach to the session. I always engage with the pupil and listen carefully to every one of their responses. I take the pupil through a carefully formulated learning program which is compiled from a detailed assessment of their tuition requirements; this is always discussed with the parent/guardian before the program commences, to ensure that they are happy with the arrangements. I am a very friendly and relaxed individual and I like to convey these feelings during my tutoring sessions and always try to make the pupil feel comfortable with the whole learning process and ensure I work at their pace at all times.

I am a BA (Hons) Education Studies Graduate (University of Derby) and I am applying for this position to help me support myself and to enable me to gain further experience and insight into the world of private tuition and to progress further professionally. I have completed a vast amount of work experience in the past and worked with a variety of different types of people and I feel that having had this exposure, I can relate well to people at all levels, and that I have good communication skills and a constructive approach to learning and improving my abilities. Teaching Experience:

Private Tuition - Started September 2011.
I am currently tutoring numerous students, covering key stages 1, 2, 3 and 4

School Experience:
Dale Primary School October 2010 - December 2011
I spent time working alongside young children between the ages of 9 to 11. I circulated between the different ability groups, within the classroom, in order to develop an understanding of the different requirements that needed to be met and to gain an understanding of the needs of each individual within the classroom. I undertook small tasks such as talking to children individually about their work and listening to them read as well as marking work

Mickleover Primary School January 2009 - February 2010
I spent time working alongside children between the ages of 7 to 9. I worked with several different ability areas, working with them in a group and also individually and I was able to gain a great insight into the requirements of different children and the flexibility needed within the classroom. I also gained some experience in learning how to plan a lesson and some experience with having direct input within the classroom. I had various other jobs such as listening to children read, sorting out and marking homework and classwork and photocopying work for distribution.

Tutoring Approach:

I work very closely to the curriculum and have an unlimited use of resources for English, Maths and Science at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 & 4 (GCSE). I implement a variety of timed activities to monitor progress and establish focus points. Personal Description:
I am a Spanish enthusiast. I lived and worked in Madrid, Spain and am able to enthuse and inform my pupils with regards to living in Spain, the Spanish people, what it's like to work in Spain and hope that my pupils go away from my lessons with a sense of the character of Spain.

I am Married, a Mother with 2 children (15 and 18), and have my own recruitment business. I also tutor because I enjoy passing on my knowledge and experience and gain satisfaction from seeing pupils progress.

Teaching Experience:

I am not a 'qualified' teacher but one through experience. I have qualifications as a Secretarial Linguist. I am a fluent Spanish speaker and my lessons have quite a strong discussion element to them. I have taught adults and GCSE students over the past 20 years, and my successes have been many, but particularly bringing GCSE students successfully through their revision stage and adults gaining more confidence in their spoken Spanish.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is a combination of fun and work. I expect commitment from my students, but also I like to pass on my enthusiasm for Spain and hope that my lessons are enjoyable, not just a hard slog! We speak in Spanish for the majority of the lesson, and I encourage students to 'immerse' themselves into Spain i.e. we have access these days to Spanish radio, Spanish TV. There is absolutely no reason not to use these to the full. I encourage socialising between students where possible also, i.e. Tapas visit/evening or introducing my Spanish friends to them so that they can practise their language skills.

Personal Description:
I've recently returned from New Zealand where I spent a year working in a prestigious secondary school. This year fueled my desire to teach. I've completed a BSc in Sport & Exercise Sciences and I'm currently studying part time at masters level. I will start a PGCE in September 2016 and become a PE teacher upon completion.

I want to tutor because it is a great way to gain experience whilst earning some money to pay my way through my studies. I'd also like to help those in a similar situation as I once was, I got little support from my PE teacher during A levels as he focused on the better performers rather than those looking to excel academically. I wasn't able to afford a tutor and got no other help, this led to me failing to achieve my target grade. I'd like to help people achieve their aims and not feel disappointed (and in my case anxious that I might not get into uni) like I did.

My particular area of expertise is the physiology of sport, I've always been fascinated with anatomy and the way the body works. I've gained a lot of experience working in schools and tutoring in recent years and, as such, feel confident in tutoring all areas of PE at GCSE and A level.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience teaching in all tiers of the educational system. This ranges from coaching and PPA cover in primary schools to work and placements in secondary and SEN schools. I also have experience of providing sports science support to semi-professional and university athletes.

I have also gained a lot of one to one tutoring experience within schools and homes helping tutees, including some that had previously failed, to pass at both GCSE and A level.

Tutoring Approach:

I don't think you can describe my approach in one specific way. I think, like all teaching, tutors should adapt the way they teach dependant on the individuals learning style and needs. Therefore the only word I could use is flexible.

Personal Description:
I am a French native speaker who currently lives in England.

I have been teaching French and English for 16 years both in England and in large international schools. I enjoy reading and travelling.

Teaching Experience:

I have prepared students for a variety of examinations, including AQA GCSE, AQA FCSE, CIE IGCSE, AS and A Level (Edexcel and AQA). I have also taught French to primary students.

I hold a Licence from the University of Aix-en-Provence (France), a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Sheffield (UK) as well as a TESOL diploma from the University of Leicester (UK).

During the course of my career, I have lead the Foreign Modern Language faculty in a British International School.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that to successfully teach a language it is most important to look at each student individually. We all learn in different ways and I always make sure I get to know my students better before deciding on an approach.

However, the most important part is to make students feel comfortable and help them grow in confidence. Learning a language can be a challenge but, with the right approach and support, it can be a most rewarding experience.

Hi I'm Tom. I am 25 years of age and am a graduate from the University of Cambridge with a 2:1 degree in Natural Sciences in which I specialised in Chemistry and Mathematics.
Much like the 'supervision' style teaching of the University of Cambridge, I love to share my passion for problem solving with others on a one-to-one basis.
Outside of academia, my interests include Table Tennis and the Rubik's Cube.

Teaching Experience:

I have 3 years experience tutoring Mathematics and Chemistry at both GCSE and A-Level with students of all abilities.

Tutoring Approach:

I understand that there is no one-size-fits-all method of teaching, and that often there are many correct explanations and solutions to problems.
Each person is different, so if one approach fails we will try again from a different angle to ensure a clear and lasting understanding.
I will aim to work towards the syllabus but am also willing to deviate slightly if the tutee would benefit from a wider understanding of the subject.
I am patient and strive to instil real enthusiasm and confidence in the subject for each student.

Personal Description:
I am friendly and cheerful, I want each individual to achieve their personal best in their chosen subject. I believe that one to one tutoring can be an enormous help to students, particularly where good personal relationships are formed. I enjoy seeing students grapple with difficulties and then move forward - with support and determination, goals can be reached.

Teaching Experience:

I trained to teach in 1980, since then I have taught individuals, classes and groups in the UK and abroad.
I have worked in full time and part time posts in further education, in schools and in individual hourly sessions.
My most recent experience has been as a full time primary school teacher, working in a Warwickshire primary school for the last 15 years with experience of both Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum.
I am used to teaching both those who expect to succeed and those who are more used to failure,

I am currently available and welcome enquiries from individuals seeking to extend their learning.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in working with each individual and if relevant their parents or guardians.
I aim to tailor an individual porgramme to the needs of each person.
What interests me is finding out what your child needs and how you want me to support him/her then working steadily towards an agreed outcome.
Establishing good communication between your child and me is of paramount importance to success.
I look forward to meeting you.

Personal Description:
I'm a 28 year old vivid, enthusiastic English and Turkish languages teacher and musician. Languages and teaching are my passions along with my qualifications, so my students have always been content with our interactive lessons.

Having completed my undergraduate degree at Bogazici University, English Language and Literature Department, I had my MA degree at Royal Holloway, University of London, Department of English.

Teaching Experience:

Teaching English and Turkish languages to various levels of students and various age groups have always been my primary occupation.

I'm a qualified English teacher with CertTESOL Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages- TRINITY COLLEGE LONDON.
I teach English to students from the beginner level to advance, special qualification English Exams such as FCE, IETLS, First Certificate as well as to native speaker, primary and secondary school students for Key stages 1-4, GCSE, A Level and AS Level.
Furthermore, I'm a Turkish native speaker entitled with a bilingual linguist. The same teaching areas, beginner to advance, GCSE, A Level and AS Level, for students who wants to improve their Turkish.

Tutoring Approach:

My methods are based on inductive presentations, more students talking time than teachers talking time and loads of interactive activities which I'm taught during my teaching experience and most importantly during trainee education.

It is never boring and never passive for either the student or the teacher.
