Personal Description:
My name's Danielle and I am 23 years old. I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Bsc Honors in Nutrition, Exercise & Health in July 2012. Since graduating I spent a year working at a Blackpool Primary School, assisting with teaching and after school club activities. I have lots of experience working with children age 4-11 years old. The last 18 months I have spent in Australia working for a private medical practice which was the second largest in Australia. I worked within the finance department and also shadowing the nutritionists as they treated their own clients. During my time there I gained valuable experience working within a clinical healthcare setting, also working with a variety of clients from different cultures and ethnicities. I have confidence in speaking to groups of people in presentation format, a skill i enhanced during my time in Australia. This i take into my approach to tutoring. During my time in Australia i tutored my younger family members throughout there final years at high school. I tutored Maths, Biology and English but have a vast knowledge of P.E and sports science in particular nutritional science.

Teaching Experience:

I worked for a year at a Blackpool Primary school where i enhanced dramatically my knowledge and skills working with young children. I gained one on one experience working with children aged 4-11 years old. I have the confidence and patience required in order to work on this basis with children of all educational levels. I have experience mentoring and tutoring young adults through their high school years.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an extremely patient and understanding young individual. I have a relaxed and gentle approach to teaching and mentoring as i feel you don't get very far adopting a strict approach, especially where young adults are concerned. In order to work as a team there has to be a level of respect no matter what the age difference, therefore i deem a soft friendly approach far more successful. I like to build a friendship with those i tutor/mentor as past experience has proven this the most effective method (regardless of age).

Personal Description:
I'm fifty, single, with a degree in English and French, and postgraduate diploma in translating. I enjoy tutoring and my pupils have done rather well so far. My last two students progressed from ungraded to a probable B grade. I'm best at tutoring people aged 16 or over because that is the age range that I am trained to teach. We can work either from my home or yours.

I like reading in French and in English, translating from French to English, walking and theatre.

I can provide good references.

My parents are also teachers and I can ask them and colleagues for advice at almost any time.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching a French holiday-maker basic French and two students to 'A/S'-level. My latest tutee is an adult learner who often stays in France. I will only take from 1 to 4 students at a time so that I can given everyone the teaching they deserve.

Tutees over that last years have been delighted, saying I made learning 'fun' and that they were glad not to be 'treated like a kid' and how their'accuracy and speaking skills improved dramatically' in lessons that were 'interactive'. After my coaching they improved from ungraded to probable grades B.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to be methodical, completing an individual learning plan at the first session. I work out what to teach for each lesson but this is flexible and can change according to your wishes and needs. Tutorials are tailored to your individual needs. I can just help with school work if that is what you want. I'll teach you whatever French you want or need - either language or culture or both.

I use a variety of teaching methods: I can teach in English or in French, lecture, use puzzles, converse, use verb sheets, exercises or revision aids, DVD player for French films, CD for pronunciation and laptop computer for e-presentations, etc.

I like to make learning at least interesting, and hopefully, fun.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and passionate graduate from Oxford University with a love for languages. Having achieved a first class degree in French and Linguistics, I am keen to pass on my knowledge and love of language and literature to other students. I completed a research Masters in West African French literature, and am currently pursuing my studies in the second year of my doctorate whilst also developing my teaching experience. I hold a TEFL qualification and have taught a wide range of students in France, Brazil and the UK.

Teaching Experience:

TEFL teaching:
- Beginner and Intermediate classes at International House London as part of training. Highly commended.
- Part of a student-led initiative in Oxford to teach English to low wage workers. We organised evening classes for international adult students of multiple levels of proficiency.
- Teaching experience in Wizard and ERTE schools in Bahia, Brazil.
- Private tutoring for GCSE student as well as adults learning French.
- English tandem learning with advanced adult learner from China: conversational and written English.

British council:
- English teacher for 11-16 year olds in Laval, France in 2009-10. Planned and delivered English lessons focussed on speaking and listening, current affairs, and reading skills.

Warwick University:
- Teaching first and second year students in French language and literature as part of my PhD.

Primary school:
- Teaching assistant 2006-7 in Garden House School, London. Prepared and assisted lessons for year 1 pupils, as well as organising timetables and caring for students. Involved some special needs assistance.

Youth work:
- Worked as part of two youth work teams over 3 years to organise activities and teach teenagers aged 15-19.

Mentoring:
- Reading programmes with younger students struggling with English language.
- Advised and assisted GCSE and A-level students in preparation for exams and applying for higher education.

Tutoring Approach:

Depending on the individual needs of each student, I will prepare a range of tasks to build confidence in specific areas of weakness. From past experience, a lack of confidence is one of the biggest barriers to learning, so in all cases I seek to reassure a student of existing strengths and abilities before and during our tuition. More generally, we will develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills through different activities to strengthen and accelerate ongoing language learning. Where appropriate/desired, I will bring in relevant texts and materials to develop broader reading building up analytical and critical skills. Grammar work will always feature, though in well-balanced chunks which aim to be accessible AND enjoyable!

Most importantly, I hope to inspire students of any level to relish and enjoy their studies, and to yearn for a more solid grasp of their subject and a higher proficiency in each area of language learning.

Personal Description:
I am very enthusiastic and friendly, with my brilliant linguistic and social competence being exemplified by my knowledge of five different languages. Due to my exceptional academic background and love of children, I would be excellent at helping your child excel in the subjects which they need help with. I am happy to travel to all parts of London, so please do not hesitate to contact me/ request an informal interview, as I understand the importance of finding some-one who is respectful and reliable to perform this role.

I have been offered to do a Masters at the University of Oxford, in Language Sciences, on full funding.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently teaching 18 students ranging from the ages 5-19 years, but I would be happy to accommodate for any ages. I tutor Latin, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English, and graduated from UCL, ranked in the top 4 university in the world.
I charge only 15-20 per hour, which is a humble amount considering my qualifications; I would like to hope that most children can have access to private tuition, not just those who can afford the help.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries; I would be delighted to provide references upon request to exemplify how satisfied parents are with my communication skills, motivation and the success that their children are achieving.
If you are keen to simply learn the English language to a more coherent level, I would also be glad to help.
I prepare older students predominantly for G.C.S.E, advanced subsidiary/advanced level (A level) and international baccalaureate.

Tutoring Approach:

I am open to helping people achieve any level which they desire, and assess/ approach each pupil's learning on the basis of their individual ability, as opposed to using the same materials for all of my students. This way I can ensure that I can target the specific needs of the pupil, which is why you will see them excel in their subject very rapidly! I also find that a tutor's enthusiasm for the subject is mandatory; many pupils that are failing/ unmotivated in their subjects because they have not had the right support and enthusiasm from subject teachers in their academic environments. In short, I believe that if the tutor genuinely cares, then the student will grow to also.

Personal Description:
I am married with three grown up children, several chickens and a dog.
I am a regular churchgoer, a supporter of Newcastle United (I know...) and a friendly and outgoing person.
I drive my fully restored Morris Minor whenever I can, leaving the modern car for my wife and daughter. Apart from that I am quite normal!

Teaching Experience:

I am an experienced teacher of RE at secondary level, being Head of RE and SMSC at a local non selective school. As such I am well used to teaching and supporting students of all abilities and with all kinds of needs and baggage.
In addition to teaching I mark GCSE papers for the AQA exam board which gives me a significant insight into examination requirements and technique. My latest school results were an almost 25% A* to A pass rate from a non selective cohort of over 200 students.
Before entering the teaching profession I spent 20 years in Christian youth ministry, which does not colour my tutoring, but does give me a uniquely thorough knowledge of Christianity in particular.

Tutoring Approach:

I am relaxed and friendly, able to get alongside even the most reluctant of students and persuade them to learn.
I believe enjoyment and relevance are the key attractions to students, qualities often perceived to be lacking in the subject. I like to be topical and humorous, whilst also being organised and firm in my approach.

Personal Description:
I have completed PhD in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Manchester. I offer assistance to degree students in assignments and dissertations. I also offer home tuitions for GCSE and A level students. Currently I am teaching at the University of Manchester to engineering students.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught as Lecturer at under-grad level in the department of mechanical engineering, UET Lahore for almost three years. In January 2007, I joined the department, as Lab Engineer and then promoted to the position of Lecturer after completing Master's degree in 2009. The university and the department claim top position in national ranking and also enjoy the honour of being the biggest and oldest ones in the country. My career of about two years here was full of struggle and effort for excellence in teaching and research.
In addition to that I have have given tuitions as Home Tutor to GCSE and O/A level individuals and small groups.

Tutoring Approach:

I always have the highest expectations of pupils and always have had, even when it was fashionable for learning to be more "child centred"; this is an approach I have found to pay rich dividends in terms of a pupil's academic and personal development. I have always managed to maintain friendly and relaxed environment tailored exactly to what the students requires. Above all I can offer general education and career advice when it matters the most and have observed that my students usually make fast progress towards their goals and good outputs.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified, UK trained teacher and an experienced tutor with proven track record in results and ability to successfully personalise my students' learning, based on their individual circumstances and preferences, whether it is learning Russian or Dutch for business, leisure and travelling or helping children develop their English and Maths skills further.

I can provide all levels of support: private language lessons for adults, document translations to or from Russian and Dutch, language tutoring of bilingual children/teens and fast-track language introduction/begginers courses. In addition, I have a particularly wide knowledge of providing general Russian/Dutch teaching for adults travelling to Russia, including countries of former USSR, where Russian is still one of the official languages, Belgium or the Netherlands, for work or family reasons.

I have completed a BA (Hons) degree in education (graduated with First Class Honours), a Postgraduate teacher training course (PGCE) and, most recently, a Masters degree in Education (MEd), specialising in teaching of gifted and talented pupils. I actively teach in British schools, thus this experience enables me to understand and apply current, most up-to date, teaching techniques and assists me in making the learning experience of my students engaging, productive and stimulating.

I am extremely flexible and reliable and I appreciate the importance of meeting the requirements of each one of my students in a shortest time possible. Therefore, I usually meet my prospective students for a free and totally informal chat, prior to agreeing to a programme of study. This allows me to assess your individual needs and design the best language training tuition program.

My rates are slightly higher than those of other tutors in the area, however with coming to me you get a fully qualified and experienced UK trained teacher, with outstanding subject knowledge and a passion for teaching. I will make sure you get the most out of your language progress as quickly as possible and guarantee that investing into my expertise will pay off!

Teaching Experience:

6 years as a private tutor
5 years as a teacher on International and National level in a range of primary schools, special educational establishments, private sector and Beijing University (taught English as foreign language)

Tutoring Approach:

Creating unique and personalised programme for each of my students to meet their individual requirements.

Personal Description:
I'm 28 and a recent graduate Agriculture and International Development at the University of Lund, Sweden. I have a 2:1 (hons.) in Biology from Newcastle University. I enjoy travel and have lived, worked and studied in Japan, Sweden and Chile, which has given me thorough understanding of different styles of learning and teaching.

Teaching Experience:

I worked for three years in Japan as a village primary and middle-school English teacher. Often this invoved planning and teaching large classes. It also involved a lot of one-to-one and small group tutoring. In addition I also undertook private English classes for adults and children of all ages (as young as 2 and as old as 70), including home visits. In addition I proofread essays for graduate students and offer advice on how to improve language and grammar. I have been living and tutoring in London for 6 months.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a relaxed and informal approach to learning. Stress is an inhibitor to clear thinking and understanding. My method of teaching has always been to encourage students to be enthusiastic and confident about what they do know first, before building upon that knowledge. I think it is important to bring all subjects out of books and into the real world, where it is possible to get involved and enthusiastic about the subject. Every student is different and it is my job, as the tutor, to help people learn in a manner which suits them. I like to mix real-world examples with exam question practice and also with open discussions at higher levels.

Personal Description:
My name is Laura, I am a 31 year old resting professional actress. I have two young daughters who will be attending school full-time in September 2013 and so I am eager to once more put my talents to good use.

I am a published poet, I write plays and screen plays also and am currently one of the Student ambassadors for the Royal Opera House as in my spare time I also study for a degree in English Literature and Language; my other passion apart from acting.

I also enjoy baking and regularly make decorative cakes and homemade treats.

Teaching Experience:

I have coached many people using drama to build confidence, to audition for drama school or even for help with public speaking, including the difficult task of speaking at funerals.

My experience includes extensive workshops and drama sessions with children from the ages of 4-18 on issues such as arson, road safety and bullying, with the support of the relevant county's emergency services. I have worked freelance as an improvisation, voice/speech and script tutor at the much acclaimed drama school, The Actor Works, in Wapping, home to the annual OffCut festival.

Apart from my drama and theatre tutelage, I have helped many young people, including many 16-18 year olds with coursework, exam preparation, text and poetry analysis and building confidence in their ability to use the English language.

Tutoring Approach:

I am easy to get on with, however you will get homework and I expect as much determination and commitment to me and our sessions as I will give to you. We will write a plan together in the first session and regularly review it to make sure we are on track.

Whatever the goal, be it confidence building, exam preparation, full on performance, or just for fun, I will help you achieve it.

Personal Description:
I am an A level biology examiner as well as being a fully qualified science teacher with over ten years of experience.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught science to GCSE level and A level biology for over ten years in secondary schools. Since relocating to Stroud, I have tutored students in A level biology for the past four years. I am also an examiner for OCR A level biology. The experience of marking A level papers has enabled me to help my tutees effectively prepare for exams.

Tutoring Approach:

The style of tutoring needed by individual students will vary. It may start with ensuring understanding of the key concepts in biology at an appropriate level. The jump to A level from GCSE is quite considerable and even the brightest students can struggle initially. Another essential skill needed is the ability to pull together biological content taught in different parts of the syllabus. As exam time approaches, a student has to apply their knowledge and understanding to real exam questions. Practice of exam technique is often a large part of a tutorial session in the run up to A level exams. I am able to give feedback on individual questions which enables a student to improve and hone their answers.
