Personal Description:
My name's Danielle and I am 23 years old. I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Bsc Honors in Nutrition, Exercise & Health in July 2012. Since graduating I spent a year working at a Blackpool Primary School, assisting with teaching and after school club activities. I have lots of experience working with children age 4-11 years old. The last 18 months I have spent in Australia working for a private medical practice which was the second largest in Australia. I worked within the finance department and also shadowing the nutritionists as they treated their own clients. During my time there I gained valuable experience working within a clinical healthcare setting, also working with a variety of clients from different cultures and ethnicities. I have confidence in speaking to groups of people in presentation format, a skill i enhanced during my time in Australia. This i take into my approach to tutoring. During my time in Australia i tutored my younger family members throughout there final years at high school. I tutored Maths, Biology and English but have a vast knowledge of P.E and sports science in particular nutritional science.

Teaching Experience:

I worked for a year at a Blackpool Primary school where i enhanced dramatically my knowledge and skills working with young children. I gained one on one experience working with children aged 4-11 years old. I have the confidence and patience required in order to work on this basis with children of all educational levels. I have experience mentoring and tutoring young adults through their high school years.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an extremely patient and understanding young individual. I have a relaxed and gentle approach to teaching and mentoring as i feel you don't get very far adopting a strict approach, especially where young adults are concerned. In order to work as a team there has to be a level of respect no matter what the age difference, therefore i deem a soft friendly approach far more successful. I like to build a friendship with those i tutor/mentor as past experience has proven this the most effective method (regardless of age).

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher and current Head of Sociology in an FE college in Bristol. I am also currently finishing a part-time Masters in Psychology. I have a real passion for teaching the social sciences, a passion that is very much brought to classroom teaching and tutoring sessions on a daily basis.

I am an approachable yet focused and committed individual who truly enjoys sharing in the successes and development of others. I am a patient and caring person, and always seek to understand the learning needs of each individual in order to maximise both enjoyment and achievement.

Personal interests include triathlon and playing bass guitar.

Teaching Experience:

I have seven years of experience in teaching Sociology and Psychology at both A Level and GCSE. My students consistently achieve results above their predicted grades. I also have experience teaching English as a Foreign Language, both in London and abroad, and would welcome the opportunity to expand my experience by working with students with additional educational needs.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is through ensuring a personalisation of the learning experience. Each student's needs and expectations from tutoring will naturally be different, and my job is to help identify, and cater to, those individual needs.

I endeavour to create a safe, supportive, but challenging learning environment, particularly focusing on the development of the learning skills needed to be successful both in life and in an exam environment.

Above all, I try to make tutoring sessions fun and enjoyable, scaffolding concepts and theories around the everyday experiences of young people today, in order to create those connections which guarantee both short- and long-term learning.

* Taught Physics, Electronic Systems and Computer Programming in Further Education College for 2 years.
* Currently working as a free-lance tutor for private students and Offender Learning Services (HM Prisons).

Tutoring Approach:

As a personal tutor I help learners to unlock their full potential. The environment of a large classroom often hinders results and limits development. I find that different approaches and environments improve results and increase enthusiasm to learn and the ability to work independently.
I aim to tailor tuition for the individual learner. At the intial session we agree a plan of action based on the learner's needs. We continue to review this plan as needs change. The tuition is intended to support study at school or college or individual study (eg distance learning courses). Sessions are informal but focussed and enjoyable. I set homework if required but prefer to concentrate on understanding and practice within the session.

Personal Description:
I have a broad knowledge of texts, and am well qualified to meet the curricular needs of any pupil. I have marked Standard Grade folio and Higher Critical essay for the SQA for many years, and Higher Folio for the last 6 years, so am well versed in expected pupil standards.
I would also like to say, at this point, that the reason I prefer pupils to come to my home is because I do not drive and I have lots of materials at home.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching English at all levels, from 1st-6th years, for 24 years.
I have also been tutoring for 12/13 years and in last years (2014) exams I saw all my tutees pass Higher despite some of them only coming to me after having failed their Prelim. All were ecstatic with their result and phoned to inform, and thank,me. This years results have been astounding as of my 8 tutees, 7 got A passes and one got a B. All came for the majority of the year and none were certainties for an A. Indeed 3 were struggling but worked extremely hard and got well deserved A's.

As well as new pupils for Higher last session ( 14/15) I also had several returning pupils,or siblings, from last year as my services as a tutor have been retained to now take them through the transition from Standard N5 to Higher. This has been a trend for me as tutees have always been happy with the lessons and my efforts in making them feel comfortable.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a well experienced tutor on a 1 to 1 and group basis. I have tutored at all Secondary levels and will support, and supplement, the teaching materials already provided by the pupils' schools. I will look over, and grade, work done by pupils in school and that set by me. In general, I will identify a pupils weakest areas and we will work hard on improving on that whilst "fine tuning" other areas.
As of the Academic year 2014/15 National 5 and N6 Higher students were catered for and I, myself, taught it to my 4th and 5th year students. This will be a very challenging year for S4 as a lot has to be done in a shorter time as year 4, generally have 1 or 2 less teaching periods than year 5/6 yet they have the same work to cover. In addition they have more exams and work experience to cope with. An early start at this would be advised in order to get into folio as soon as possible.

Personal Description:
My name is Gordon age 49 I am certified in Computer Applications and Networks (CAN). Self taught casual programmer of 20 years. I currently offer tutoring services online via Internet-using text E-Mail, Video E-Mail and **Contact Detail Removed**. I can tutor anyone at my local public library.

Teaching Experience:

My portfolio includes my own self published training materials on PC CD-ROM. recently completed a KIOSK program last year. I currently publish my own training materials on PC CD-ROM as part of my tutoring package. I can introduce, and tutor several software packages help you develop your own applications in a very short time. Student should be computer literate and have the background knowledge of the subject matter they are writing. For example, if you are writing a PC CD-ROM driving course are you a driving instructor/Training Provider?

Software packages I tutor can include:

Building executable files
HTML WYSIWYG
Web Browser Plug-Ins
Flip Book Documents
Introduction to computer Games
Creating CD Graphic Arts
I can work:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights online as a guide rates of pay are 10 per hour minimum. Rates of pay are may be discussed on an individual basis. Student will need a computer using Windows and Internet Access to get started.

Tutoring Approach:

As a self taught casual computer program developer learning at my own pace has become very important. Computer programming is a very deep and broad subject. Under my guidance students can work at their own pace and challenge themselves as little or as much as they want. The good news is that a student can learn to write a computer application in a very short time and without four years of college. Students are not graded and no testing is required. More productive levels can be reached if the student has a good idea for a computer application. This idea could come from the work place or a hobby they may have.

I use my own screen captured videos and hand-outs to help students achieve what they want. Everyone has their own learning style some of us learn best by reading, others like to be shown and the rest of us want hands-on training.

I am not the foremost expert on anything, if I don't know the answer to a students question I simply tell them and help them find the answer.

Knowing how to write your own applications is just another feather in a cap for private instructors, business owners, B&B's, human resources, government, and book publishers. These are referred to as 'Vertical Markets' in the software industry (search 'wikipedia vertical markets'). Private computer owners are welcome.

Personal Description:
My name is Gurpreet, I am a recent Law graduate with a First Class Honors degree classification. and I am very passionate about teaching because I would like to pursue it as a career ambition. I genuinely wish to help students progress because I have many younger siblings myself whom I have supported in their achievements and so have become very versatile to their needs. I am willing to tutor in a public place (ie library).

*I am also willing proofread and edit any coursework/assignment for the subjects stated.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutoring experience from other jobs from UKtutors with an age range from 5-18.

I have taught my younger siblings over many years as they moved from primary school to secondary. I would help my sister with subjects such as Maths and English, but I have also taught some of my fellow A level students in subjects which we would study together.

My work experience placement was at a nursery in which I had to support children where I developed many communication skills but also simple methods of educational activities.

From my Leadership Award I developed skills of teaching because I had to alter activities according to the age group, also allowed me skills of discipline through encouragement.

I was a leader for a group of children of ages 6 to 8 during a summer camp in June 2012 in which I had responsibility of organising and executing activities for these kids. It was an enjoyable and exciting learning opportunity.

Tutoring Approach:

I am able to adapt my methods according to the student and their age or level. This helps to develop their understanding and they are able to achieve targets and reach goals. I would like to make sessions interactive and generate interest in the student as it is important to maintain a positive attitude to learning and to stay persistent in the face of a problem.

Worksheets, whiteboards and educational games are all part of a much bigger learning objective but these can help to make education seem less forced and more willing. It gives great satisfaction when students understand and move forward in their endeavour which is why I find teaching an exciting and enjoyable occupation.

Personal Description:
My name is Selena ,24 years old,a native chinese speaker.I would describe myself as outgoing ,creative and cheeful.I have over 4 years teaching and tutoring experience in chinese language ,literature ,geography and history .Now I study in a college in Golders green, london .

Teaching Experience:

My major in university was Chinese language and literature and I got certification for being a secondary chinese teacher .I have taught students from 9 to 30 years old since in university (purposes for chinese testing and speaking ,writing ,reading ,depends on what u wanna learn). So I am sure I can deliver intricately well-planned lessons, midweek support, and devotion to ensuring the goals of the handful of students I teach are being met.

After my gradutation ,I got a full-time job in a public middle school for two years being a chinese teacher .My students loved my class because I always tried to organize creative and intereting class activities and tried to stimulate their potential.

The minimum lesson time I can do is 2 hours, I can only accept payment in cash and I intend on being available for the next 6 months.

I am available in evenings, weekends, and during the day, depending on which day of the week you wish to meet.Whilst I am not the cheapest tutor ( about 30 pound a hour) ,but I could ensure your extra money is well spent.I look forward to hearing from you!

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is very student-based.I strongly believe that students have the right to negociate their learning prefers and process which allow them to take ownership of their own learning strategies, and thus, monitor their own progress. My belief is that teachers should try to provide whatever resources and methods that aid the student in this process. Teachers can only steer the direction of learning, not choose it. I also believe that students and teachers should work together to establish their learning agenda, and cooperate to make the experience both meaningful and enjoyable.

Personal Description:
DO YOU NEED A TUTOR FOR EXAMS/RE-SIT EXAMS THIS YEAR? LOOK NO FURTHER!
LACK OF JANUARY EXAMS (from 2014 onwards) MEANS YOU MIGHT NEED A TUTOR MORE THAN EVER BEFORE!!!

GRADE 1 OUTSTANDING - OFSTED
I have been the Head of Accounting since 2006, at a large Catholic Sixth Form College in Hulme, Manchester. I am 36 years old, married, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. I gained my degree in Economics and Finance in 1998 from Leicester University. I began teaching in 2002 so have over 11 years of experience teaching Accounting.

I offer tutition at my home, either at the weekend, or weekday evenings. However, I am usually able to offer tuition during the school/college holidays.

Teaching Experience:

I completed my PGCE at Manchester University in 2002. I only teach Accounting AS and A2 Level, and this is therefore my main specialism. I can also help students in need of tutoring on the Finance elements of the Business Studies A Level, or on Accouning/Finance elements of Business/Accounting/Finance degree courses.

I teach the AQA specification. However, I can also tutor students who are following the OCR specification.

Many tutors are not willing to advertise the results they have achieved with students. I recommend you read the section below on the results i have achieved with my A Level Accounting students.

Also, many tutors seem to offer tuition in a wide variety of subjects. Are they really specialists in so many different subjects? I am an Accounting specialist, and only offer tuition in Accounting or the Finance elements of a Business course. If you need a Maths tutor, then hire a Maths specialist. If you need an Accounting tutor, then hire me!

Tutoring Approach:

Many other tutors seem to describe their strategies/relationships etc, without mentioning anything concrete like exam results! Surely the one thing a prospective student wants to know about is exam results!?!? Read on.

I have an incredibly strong track record of results at A Level Accounting. Compare the results of my students against the national benchmarks below. Please compare the difference between my students, and the benchmarks. We are WAY ahead!

My A2 Accounting students in 2013:

Grade A*-B = 67.57%
Grade A*-E = 100%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2013:

Grade A*-B = 38.17%
Grade A*-E = 94.22%

Each department within the college is graded according to the college's own internal validation procedure. I have been graded as 1 'OUTSTANDING' for 7 years on the row, since I became head of the department.

The Accounting department was also graded as 1 'OUTSTANDING' in the last OFSTED report in Jan 2010. Key Findings from Ofsted:

"A high proportion of students achieve grades A and B. In A-Level Accounting more than two thirds of students gained a high grade (A-B). In AS Accounting, almost four times the national average achieved a high grade (A-B)."

I have been awarded grade 1 on the ALPS measure for value added on 3 seperate occasions in recent years. This means i add more value to my students than any other college in the country. Value added measures the difference between what the Government predicts a student should achieve at A Level based on their GCSE performance and what they actually achieve.

Here are the previous years results, so you can see that the performance is ALWAYS impressive, and WAY ABOVE benchmark.

NO student of mine has failed A Level Accounting in 10 years!

My A2 Accounting students in 2012:

Grade A*-B = 67.65%
Grade A*-E = 100%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2012:

Grade A*-B = 36.14%
Grade A*-E = 94.38%

My A2 Accounting students in 2011:

Grade A*-B = 54.54%
Grade A*-E = 100%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2011:

Grade A*-B = 35.12%
Grade A*-E = 94.89%

My A2 Accounting students in 2010:

Grade A*-B = 67.35%
Grade A*-E = 100%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2010:

Grade A*-B = 37.36%
Grade A*-E = 93.94%

My A2 Accounting students in 2009:

Grade A*-B = 66.67%
Grade A*-E = 100%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2009:

Grade A*-B = 35.83%
Grade A*-E = 93.44%

My A2 Accounting students in 2008:

Grade A*-B = 77.27%
Grade A*-E = 100%

Benchmark A2 Accounting 2008:

Grade A*-B = 33.93%
Grade A*-E = 92.75%

Personal Description:
For both my undergraduate and Master's degrees, I studied Knowledge and Information Systems Management; the first degree was in my country Lebanon while the other was at the University of Southampton. I am currently doing my PhD degree in Supply Chain Management at the University of Southampton. I am also a lecturer in "Project Management" and "Introduction to Information Systems" modules.

Teaching Experience:

Throughout my college and university years, i have always tutored my friends and some other students. I used to give private lessons in English, MIS, Arabic and Math for students in schools, colleges and universities.
I would say, my teaching skills tripled after spending some time lecturing at the University of Southampton. I lectured many groups of 25 students each for two modules: "Project Management" and "Introduction to Information Systems" both of which I can say I am very familiar with.

Tutoring Approach:

I always tend to simplify everything to my students and approach them in a simple and easy way according to their age and interests. All my students were satisfied in my teaching techniques and ended up having good grades on their exams.

Personal Description:
I was born and grew up in France, attending French schools throughout my lower education. Both parents being British I am therefore fully bilingual in French and English. This early learning has given me a natural ability and passion for languages which is why I opted to study German and Spanish up to Baccalaureate level. I also lived in Germany for part of my education and, upon returning to France, undertook advanced studies in German, leading me to obtain a German Abitur as well as a French Baccalauréat. I moved to the UK to study Architecture and am now married to a teacher!

Teaching Experience:

I tutored struggling students in Maths and Physics at GSCE and A-level, whilst always having been available to help friends in France with their English and German homework. During my time as an undergraduate, I also supported students who were studying towards a degree in French.

Tutoring Approach:

There is no single approach which will work with everybody so I am committed to finding out what works best for you! However we choose to go forward, I will always aim to make it fun and enjoyable, and make sure there is progress every session.

Unfortunately I am currently unable to arrange new lessons before 7.15pm on a weekday evening. However, if you are looking for day-time tutoring from November onwards, please get in touch.

Personal Description:
I'm and experienced tutor and teacher. Not just in the academic sense but in the practical sense too. I've worked in business, including six years as European Sales and Marketing Director of Pentax in Brussels and ten years as President of a French IT company. Real practical experience and real experience too in Politics - I was, for example, a candidate at the last General Election! So I can interest and enthuse my students in History, Politics and Business.
I have two sons, one of whom has just completed his GCSE's and moved on to the IB and the other is studying Film at Falmouth University, so I'm very aware of the tough choices and hard work facing students today and I'm there to provide both a strong level of academic support as well as listening and advising them.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring one-to-one for a number of years now for CET and Randstad, both in students homes and in secondary schools. I have also taught History and Politics at Abbey College in Cambridge for two and a half years. Each summer sees me teaching the Oxford Royale Academy 'Business & Enterprise' Course and indeed, I am also responsible for writing and updating the courses myself. I have considerable experience and knowledge of advising students and parents on their way through the UCAS process.

Tutoring Approach:

I seek to establish and identify the individual needs and characteristics of each student. I have a strong belief in the importance of inspiration in tutoring and feel that the role of the tutor is as much about building confidence as it is about reinforcing knowledge.
I tailor work to each student and have a full and comprehensive database of materials and information in all my subjects built up over a number of years and covering all exam boards.

Personal Description:
I am currently working with the University of Manchester on a commercial project as a Structural Mechanics Engineer. My education details are as follows:

PhD Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering (2014)

Degree (First class honours): BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering (2009)

HSSC: Mathematics (A+), Physic (A) (2005)
SSC: Mathematics (A+), Physic (A+) (2003)

Teaching Experience:

I have formal teaching experience as I have been giving the tutorial lectures at Loughborough University to engineering undergraduates and also I have tutored the physics and mathematics to number of GCSE and A-levels students.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching approach is to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which students feel more confident to raise questions. I like to listen to my students being at their level to address and identify the basic difficulties that they face in understanding the subjects. I try to involve the students in problem solving and present the subjects in an interesting manner with the help of useful hints that are often helpful to provoke the original thought in order to improve their analytical skills. I find myself committed and patient and I believe that such teaching skills make me ideal for tutoring. I often highlight the practical implications of the subjects where possible so that the students could relate the subjects to their future careers. I would be willing to concentrate on the specific areas that the student requests. The focus of my approach is to prepare the students for the exams by developing the analytical thinking in order to solve the problems. The deeper understanding of the mathematical sciences could only be achieved through the intensive practice.
