Personal Description:
My name's Danielle and I am 24 years old. I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Bsc Honors in Nutrition, Exercise & Health in July 2012. Since graduating I spent a year working at a Blackpool Primary School, assisting with teaching and after school club activities. I have lots of experience working with children age 4-11 years old. I spent 12 months between noc 2013-dec 2014 in Australia working for a private medical practice which was the second largest in Australia. I worked within the finance department and also shadowing the nutritionists as they treated their own clients. During my time there I gained valuable experience working within a clinical healthcare setting, also working with a variety of clients from different cultures and ethnicities. I have confidence in speaking to groups of people in presentation format, a skill i enhanced during my time in Australia. This i take into my approach to tutoring. During my time in Australia i tutored my younger family members throughout there final years at high school. I tutored Maths, Biology and English but have a vast knowledge of P.E and sports science in particular nutritional science.

Teaching Experience:

I worked for a year at a Blackpool Primary school where i enhanced dramatically my knowledge and skills working with young children. I gained one on one experience working with children aged 4-11 years old. I have the confidence and patience required in order to work on this basis with children of all educational levels. I have experience mentoring and tutoring young adults through their high school years.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an extremely patient and understanding young individual. I have a relaxed and gentle approach to teaching and mentoring as i feel you don't get very far adopting a strict approach, especially where young adults are concerned. In order to work as a team there has to be a level of respect no matter what the age difference, therefore i deem a soft friendly approach far more successful. I like to build a friendship with those i tutor/mentor as past experience has proven this the most effective method (regardless of age).

Personal Description:
I am a secondary Head of Music in North London, living in Hertfordshire, with a first class Music degree from the University of Oxford.

I have six years of teaching and tutoring experience for both AQA and Edexcel GCSE exams, and Edexcel AS and A Level. I teach and play the clarinet and piano, as well as having studied music theory, history and various other aspects of music to a very high level.

I am happy to tutor school-age pupils to help with their classroom work, GCSEs and A-Levels, and also teach music theory in preparation for ABRSM examinations. I am also a teacher of clarinet for all ages, up to grade 8 standard, and of piano up to grade 6 standard.

Teaching Experience:

- Currently working as a Head of Music in North London, teaching students aged 11-18.

- I have taught for six years at a range of secondary schools, working as both a classroom teacher and as an instrumental and vocal teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

I prefer to first help pupils work through problems with their existing school work, in order to patch up any difficulties that they are currently having, then to additionally teach them extra things in order to keep their interest in the subject.

I would expect pupils to complete an amount of homework each week, depending on their existing workload, in order to help them to make progress.

Personal Description:
I am on my final year of undergraduate study, reading Mathematics, at UCL. Where am I from? Originally from Taiwan but have been studying in the UK for over 5 years . What kind of person am I like? a bit shy but friendly and really easy going type.

Teaching Experience:

I have had three teaching experiences so far, one in Chinese(Mandarin) and two in A-level Mathematics.
One of my maths student obtains a stunning double A* in both GCE A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and the other one, whose GCSE Maths is a D, gets a fairly respectable B in GCE A-level Mathematics. My Chinese student didn't take any examination as her main purpose was to be able to backpacking China and Taiwan. She successfully completed her dream last summer and her feedback to me was that she found my teaching really dead-on her needs during the travel. Due to the large number of Economics students (both LSE and UCL) that I am currently having, I am especially familiar with teaching first year mathematical methods for Economists.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that people learn the best when they are motivated. For that purpose, I constantly taking my students' feedback and their changes in life into account and adjust the teaching immediately so as to make them want to learn. And then I teach them precisely what they are required to know in a most succinct language so that every bit of their brain power is used in the place where it is most needed.

Personal Description:
It has been an ambition of mine to become a Secondary School teacher since I was in Primary School. I have always had an interest in Mathematics, Chemistry and especially in Physics. Whilst I was in school I was always asking the question "Why?". I always wanted to know more about how something worked, whether it was how a radio worked or how a light bulb was able to light up a room. It was this fascination, along with some very inspirational figures, with the world around me that led me for years in the pursuit of more knowledge, to find more answers and have a greater understanding of the things that surrounded me. It is for this reason that I decided to study a Physics based degree, to learn about the Universe and how it works.

I am currently a third year student studying Astrophysics MPhys at the University of Liverpool and LJMU. Upon completion of my course I wish to complete a PhD before training to become a secondary school Mathematics/Physics teacher.

I have decided to become a private tutor in my free time to gain experience in teaching which is the profession I am determined to go into. I am able to travel but I would have to add additional expenses onto the cost of the lesson due to the low prices that I am charging. I will do this as fairly as I am able and the additional charge would only be dependant on the miles travelled.

Teaching Experience:

Upon completion of my A-Levels I decided to work voluntarily in a local Secondary School. I worked there for approximatly 5 weeks in the capacity of a Mathematics teaching assistant. I worked with students of all abilities ranging from the age of 10 (On several Open Days) to 16. Before I could work an Enhanced CRB was carried out by the school, this is still in date and is available upon request to any parent/guardian who wishes to see it. It shows that I do not have a criminal record of any kind. My qualification certificates are also available upon request.

Of course to many, my age and lack of experience and qualifications, could be seen as a negative attribute, however, I see this as being positive as it was not long ago that I was in the students position. I feel this puts me in a unique position where I would be able to communicate in a way where the student can understand.

Tutoring Approach:

All students are unique. This said the approach to tutoring them will be unique to each pupil. Firstly I would like to see the students past reports so I can see how the student is performing, this will aid me in developing a plan to teach the student. I would like the first meeting to be between myself, the pupil and the parent/guardian and we can discuss what needs assessing, this will also allow me to get to know the pupil in a stress free environment. This of course will not be charged unless I am required to travel in which case I will only charge a travelling expense as detailed above. I invite the parent or guardian to sit in in all lessons.

Once I have assessed the students ability, together with the student we can come up with achievable but challenging milestones. The most important thing is that the student enjoys learning, I will therefore try my utmost to make the lessons fun (Something that for some reason can't be done in a traditional class room) whilst still making them challenging so that progress can be made.

Personal Description:
Currently an MSc student at Imperial in Maths and Finance with a degree in Maths. I tutor pupils of ages 11+ and of all abilities with a flexible timetable.
I cover most of North West London (Edgware, Mill Hill, Hendon, Stanmore, Pinner etc.) and South Hertfordshire (Borehamwood, St Albans, Bushey etc.). Areas outside a 5-mile radius (or >25 mins one way) will be considered and/or negotiated if necessary.

Teaching Experience:

I've had nearly 3 years experience both privately and under ACE Academy. Since I only took my exams recently, I have a first hand knowledge as to what is expected from pupils and I am fluent on the syllabus. I tend to see results after a few months tuition. Once pupils have the right attitude and confidence they often exceed their expectations.

Best achievement: One of my KS3 pupils started at the bottom of the class with a poor attitude to maths, after a few months they managed to earn their way to the top and now they're even predicted an A for Maths GCSE (from D previously).

Tutoring Approach:

Style:
Perfectionist. If there is a difficult problem I will break it up into bits so it is easier to understand. I like to build things from first principles so it gives them a purpose as to why they are doing it.

Structure:
Usually I will go through difficult problems or any material that the pupil finds difficult to understand. This is through general homework exercises or exam papers. If any additional material is needed please let me know before the session so I can prepare.

Discipline:
I like to make sure the pupil is focused at all times. Lessons are informal and fun in order to engage the pupil. If there is an issue I have a "time out" phase before informing their parents/guardians.

Personal Description:
I am in my fourth year of teaching. At the present time I am teaching sixth form college. I have successfully completed my PGCE course (Secondary Mathematics) at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2011. Prior to this, I hold a combined degree in Pure Mathematics and Statistics. I have also been on a number of courses covering behaviour management, AFL, pace in teaching/learning and differentiation.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experiences began at Woodlands School and Seven Kings High School, as part of my PGCE training and I had the opportunity to teach across the full ability range of year 7 to 11. I also fully participated in helping pupils in the Statistics and pure Mathematics AS Level classes. I finished my most recently teaching practice at Woodlands School where I taught maths across range and the use of ICT interactive board for maths lessons. My teaching practice was encouraging because I enjoyed interacting with students at various levels. During my teaching practice, I planned my lessons to very good standard and appropriate and challenging learning objectives which include a variety of activities and assessment techniques. I have gained a lot of experience from especially the one to one and that modified my teaching of low ability classes, concentrating on breaking tasks and making lessons interesting enough to lengthen student's concentration.
In my most recently employment as a Maths teacher at Woodlands School, Basildon, I have been mostly entrusted with foundation GCSE classes, KS3 mixed ability sets and numeracy classes.

Tutoring Approach:

Having had the opportunity to teach across board for this while had provided me with a wide knowledge base for my professional conduct as a teacher. I constantly upgrade my teaching methods through evaluations and feedbacks I get from pupils and sometimes through learning walks by SLTs. I am confident I have acquired a lot strategies and methodologies for teaching all topics to all years and sets. I thoroughly prepared each lesson taking into consideration previous knowledge and suitability of the time it's taught. I recorded all homework and some important class exercise which are used to monitor children's progress and to find ways of how to address any inconsistencies. I have often liaised with parents if I needed parental support. For bottom sets, I learned the importance of the use of pictures and visual stimulus to meet pupils' learning needs. I have mastered the art of breaking up lessons into chunks to make it simpler for pupils to follow and finding straight steps pupils can easily grasp with complex topics. This has been one of my enviable achievements as it has always interested my maths colleagues. Concerning year sevens and lower forms, I learnt a lot about the importance of giving rewards in the form of stamps, commendations and stickers as motivation. Every learning has been thoroughly planned using Maths Framework Standards with levels and differentiation. For bottom sets working in partnership with support staff for SEN and EAL pupils has been very enjoyable and rewarding.
The opportunity to be a year 10 and during my last term a year 7 form tutor as well as the homework club tutor at Woodlands School had also given me a strong knowledge base on the pastoral care of students and participations in extracurricular duties.
Commitment
I am committed to developing my professional skills in all aspects of the art of teaching. I look upon my students not merely as students in the strict sense of the word, but also as an extension of myself. I want them to succeed, because when they do I also succeed.

Personal Description:
I am a French national who has been living in the UK for over a year and tutoring for much of that time. I graduated in Business Communications from the University of Nancy last year. I have just spent 5 months working in New Zealand and travelling in Japan, and have returned to the UK to continue tutoring French. My French nationality means I have a first hand insight into French cultural issues and an inbuilt knowledge of French idioms and regional language variations.

Teaching Experience:

During my 6 months living in St Albans, I had the opportunity to tutor for a variety of levels: primary school, GCSE, casual learner and advanced debate language for a French teacher, working with material suitable for A-level students. This has given me experience of the UK educational system at a variety of levels and the ability to adapt to different students' needs.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring means ''learning with pleasure'' for me. That means that my aims are to make the student enjoy the lesson without having to just ''learn by heart''. I had to tutor some students just after their school day so I wanted it to be positively different.

For casual learners I take a flexible approach with the first focus on confidence in speaking, but if the student has specific exam needs I can tailor the lesson towards his/her goal, with more structured grammar lessons if necessary (after years of grammar lessons during my French schooling!). I never forget that I am a the ''French speaking guide'' and the student is the pilot.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher with 3 years experience of successfully teaching Biology to GCSE and A-Level. Having recently relocated and now living and working in East London, I am looking to tutor at weekends or weekday evenings.

I have an Upper Second Class BSc degree, with Honours, from the University of Leeds in Human Genetics. This course contained a significant amount of Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, further building on my previous qualifications (including 3 A's at A-level, 6 A*s and 5 A's at GCSE).

Additionally, I have had two years experience in industry. This includes 18 months spent working as a project and account manager for a successful biotechnology company, and a further 6 months spent working in a radiotherapy department as an assistant practitioner. Both of these roles heavily involved the application of scientific principles, contributing to the knowledge I hold of the relevance of science to the real world.

Teaching Experience:

I have three years experience teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5 Biology at a high achieving well established Church of England School in Bolton. A large percentage of my teaching timetable included teaching Biology to high ability pupils at KS5. In Summer 2015, every single one of my A2 pupils progressed to achieve and/or exceed their target grades, with 7 of my 30 pupils achieving A*s. During this time I worked closely with the Head of Biology to develop schemes of work and resources to help better structure and streamline our teaching of the specification. In order to further enrich the quality of my teaching, I successfully applied to AQA for the position of examiner, and I have just completed my first summer of examining (GCSE). I therefore consider myself to have an up to date knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments.

I have recently started in the new position as Teacher of Biology a the Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre: an outstanding provider of A Level education based in East London. The college opened in September 2014 and aims to push able local students to enable them to progress to the best and most competitive universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.

Tutoring Approach:

Biology helps pupils to understand the world around them, inspires their curiosity and encourages them to ask questions. Such thought processes should be nurtured and encouraged by utilising activities and questioning techniques that excite the imagination whilst portraying the relevance and application of science in the wider world.

My approach to tutoring involves teaching beyond the specification, to encourage a thorough, rich understanding of the subject by providing additional details that might be glossed over in the classroom. This allows pupils to make links between topics, enabling them to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar contexts. I will ensure pupils are familiar with the different ways questions can be presented, by utilising past paper questions where neccessary.

I love my job. I am passionate about my subject and this passion shows through in my approach to tutoring. If this fits well with you, then I look forward to hearing from you!

Personal Description:
I have recently graduated from the University of East Anglia with a first class Master of Mathematics degree.

Teaching Experience:

I volunteered at the Denes High School as a Teaching Assistant in GCSE Mathematics for a semester. At the end of the semester I taught my own class.

Tutoring Approach:

Hands on and adaptive. Whenever the pupil encounters a problem in their understanding I will work slowly and carefully to pinpoint whatever is causing the problem. I will then break down the problem to make sure the pupil fully understands how solve it independently. I would then set some similar problems as homework to solidify the pupil's understanding.

Personal Description:
I am 25 years old and currently researching for a PhD at the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Science, KCL. I have a bachelors in Natural Sciences from Cambridge university and a Masters in Research in the Neuroscience field at Imperial College.

I am bilingually fluent, speaking English and Cantonese Chinese, having lived in the UK from a young age. I am friendly, good with children and relatable with young adults.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience in tutoring children of all ages and teaching young adults at an Adult learning centre, including adults with learning difficulties. I currently tutor students ranging from year 6-Upper sixth form, for all maths and science subjects across various exam boards. I have been tutoring for more than 4 years and have consistently helped tutees to obtain satisfactory grades. I also take part in teaching at Sunday School and have experience with young children. I have a CRB check and would be happy to be checked again if necessary.

Tutoring Approach:

I consider myself to be professional but approachable. I am organised and my teaching is structured. I can either help with homework or cater for individual learning needs. I believe that understanding core concepts and their relevance is key, not only to good grades, but your child's enjoyment of the subject.
Teaching techniques can be adapted to suit the needs and learning style of your child and I have the patience to find out what works for your child, whether they are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (tactile) learners.

Personal Description:
I work as a Domestic Violence Support Worker and I currently volunteer with Sutton Black History Group and the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre. Through my studies I have deveoped excellent study skills and methods, as well as specialised knowledge in my subjects. I am very enthusiastic about education and I eventually plan to pursue a PhD.

Teaching Experience:

Having worked for Camp America in 2009 and a further four summers with an International Summer School in the UK, I have had a lot of experience in working with young people to teach, lead and motivate them or help to inspire them with projects. Similarly, at university I helped with the newer students in modules that they were unclear on. My roles on the boards of various student groups also provided me a platform to lead and teach newer members to the groups.

Tutoring Approach:

I am confident in communicating with others and it is important to me to work with empowerment and encouragement. Rather than telling the individual what to do or how to think, I work by presenting information and work through it with them, developing a way of working that is both unique and successful for each individual.

Personal Description:
I am currently studying BSc Medical Biochemistry at university. I have just finished my second year and I am about to enter my third year. I am married. I have a very logical mind and capable of finding the solution to any problem that needs solving.

Teaching Experience:

I did tutor a fellow class student in A-level maths for a short period of time to improve his understanding of maths, especially pure maths. I also taught chemistry to university students in a university in Poland and was able to help about 70% to 80% of the whole year of first year medical students pass this subject. I provided them out of hours classes to help with certain difficult provided and even provided my own version of written revision notes to help prepare for the exam.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to help the student understand the topic by giving examples and showing solutions with in-depth explanations in simple terms so that the student can understand. I even give the student example questions to try out to make sure they understand the methods or factual knowledge.
