Personal Description:
I am a native Russian speaker. I have pursued a full time career as a language tutor for over 15 years, teaching students from 3 to 70. I graduated in Moscow as a teacher of chemistry and biology for secondary schools. I worked for a period of two years in a school in Moscow. I came to the UK and started working for a Russian oil company in London involved in translations. In addition I worked as required as a Russian translator for the Bank of England. In 1998 I co-wrote a book called "Talk Russian" for the BBC which was used in support of a Russian language programme that they were presenting.

Teaching Experience:

I commenced working in the education sector in the UK in 1998.I was engaged as a preparatory school teacher in an independent school, where I continued to work until 2004 and was tutoring in my free time.
I became a full time Russian language tutor in August 2004 for students of all ages, children, teens, adults who need extra support and business professionals.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor each lesson to suit the student's needs. On the first lesson I identify areas for improvement and prepare an adapted teaching schedule to provide the maximum support for learning. My continuing approach depends on the type and needs of the student that I am tutoring. I have a total open mind, when I first meet them. The method of study will vary considerably .I make sure that the students enjoy the lessons and understand each step before progressing to the next one.
For very young students I use lots of games and activities to engage them and stimulate their mind, praising them with their progress.
I also tutor young people for their GCSE, A level, IB examinations, and undergraduates. I focus on improving their confidence and question answering technique in addition to providing them with a deeper understanding of conversational skills, grammar and comprehension of each topic. Closer to their exams, I concentrate on improving question techniques and creating links across the curriculum. I can also offer tuition of intensive exam preparation. My objective is to obtain the best results from each student.
For the business professionals, they generally need to improve their conversational skills, which I feature for them, but also include elements of grammar and spelling, to ensure a total understanding. It is important to help them find the way to learn.
I have access to several resources including Skype, where I utilise as support "Scribblar" and "Blackboard Collaborate" along with many other white board conference and collaboration tools, and use them accordingly.
I am a patient tutor and try to build trust with my students, which lead to fast progress, this being the top priority. It is a pleasure to pass on my knowledge to all of my students, and for me this is one of the most rewarding experiences ever.
I would really like to meet you and wish you the best for your Russian language studies. Please don't hesitate to contact me.

Personal Description:
I am a young and enthusiastic private tutor with more than 6 years' experience, specialising in English Literature. I am familiar with a wide range of literature, including many popular school set texts. I welcome tuition requests from students at all levels and of all ages.

I hold a First Class BA degree in English as well as an MA in Victorian Studies with Distinction, both from the University of Exeter. I am also in my final year of a PhD in Victorian Literature at the University of London.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught a range of ages and abilities in English Literature, both in the UK and the US. I have tutored children learning to read, primary school children, secondary school students (KS3, GCSE and A level), university students (at BA and MA level), and adult learners (including those studying an online course and those studying with the Open University).

Three years ago I also began giving tuition on English grammar and punctuation to adult learners wishing to improve their business communication skills.

I have helped students write clear, effective and successful personal statements for university applications for more than 7 years.

I also have experience of helping teach primary school children to read, write, and improve their comprehension skills.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is tailored to each individual students according to their needs, following a consideration of their strengths and weaknesses in the course of the first two sessions. This enables me to teach and enthuse each student. When students are shown different ways of looking at a text, and ways in which it relates to their own lives, literature becomes much more accessible, encouraging them to study and achieve better academic grades.

Extra tutoring gives students individual attention beyond the scope of the classroom, and offers an opportunity to look at set texts in more detail, and at the right pace.

Improving students' confidence is central to my approach to tutoring. With individually tailored tutoring, determination to succeed, and improved confidence, my students are able to achieve excellent grades and reach their full potential.

Personal Description:
A highly effective teacher; experienced, well organised, motivated, enthusiastic, with good sense of humour.

I establish rapport with my students. In my long career in teaching, I have learned how to make the most complex concepts in science 'digestible'. My motto is: 'Excellence in Education'.

I am a member of Pi Lambda Theta (International Honour Society for Educators).

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified Teacher / Lecturer, and have taught Biology and Chemistry for over thirty years in Secondary, and Further/Higher Education in the US, the EU, and the UK. I have taught the AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and the International Baccalaureate specifications.

In addition to teaching students, I have trained teachers, as well.

Tutoring Approach:

While my Bachelor's Degree is in Biology and Chemistry, my Master's Degree is in Education with emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction, which means I have trained in designing and delivering effective lesson plans, as well as a complete curriculum. I design my instruction taking into account the student's learning style. The 'one size fits all' type of teaching is responsible for the failure of many students. Every student can learn and can do well, provided the teaching style accommodates the student's learning style, and there are no 'gaps' in what is prerequisite knowledge for taking a certain course.

Knowledge builds on pre-existing knowledge. I make certain that my students really understand and appreciate that. I diagnose any 'gaps' in content knowledge that my students may have, and I 'fill' them, providing a solid foundation for my students to build on.

Study skills, which figure prominently in my teaching, and exam technique, along with a well-rounded, in-depth knowledge of content, provide the key to success.

At the end of the course, my students not only do they have what they need to tackle the Biology or Chemistry Exam, but also a wealth of learning skills which they can apply to other subjects as well, and which they will find essential in all their future academic studies.

Educational technology supplements my instruction. The content in every session is presented on PowerPoint with quality images. I clarify every point and make certain my student has 'grasped' the present concept before I proceed with the next. Where appropriate, the PPT presentation is followed by a brief video which makes the content 'come alive'. My PowerPoint presentations, as well as my notes on PDF or Word files are available for my students after the lesson.

I finish the lesson practicing exam - style questions. It goes without saying that regular revision is important, and I provide my students with lots of past exam papers.

Personal Description:
I'm a well spoken and friendly "science geek" with great interpersonal skills. I pride myself on a relaxed and logical approach to problem solving; whether it be at a post-graduate level or the ability to communicate GCSE and A-Level topics in a relevant manner. Throughout my schooling I saw many classmates struggle with topics because they were unable to make a connection to their interests. Personal tutoring allows the tutee to have access to the information in a tailored manor such that they are able to relate the the problem and make clear logical choices about how to proceed.

I graduated with an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham last year and I'm currently in my 1st year of a 4 year PhD, also Chemistry. Throughout my course I did extra maths and physics modules and my research currently also depends heavily on all the sciences and maths. For those interested in Uni-level tutoring within Chemistry; my PhD involves a lot of vibrational spectroscopy (inorganic section), and I regularly use all the physics, maths and inorganic chemistry taught at undergrad level.

Teaching Experience:

Tutoring:
I have tutored multiple students in the past, providing entire revision/improvement courses for both GCSE and A-level students as well as help a variety of university students achieving high grades on specific modules.

The tailored approach of private tuition allows students to quickly build confidence in a subject (and exam technique) which results in achieving grades that each student is capable of. I've also offered subject specific tutoring, such as "Quantitive Analysis for Business", a statistical module for Business Management students.

University:
Demonstrating: I help undergrad students understand and complete practical experiments several times a week.
A-Level Outreach/UCAS: I participate in numerous UCAS events to help potential students and parents understand what Chemistry at Nottingham Uni has to offer.

Outdoor Education:
Last summer I lived in a forest for 3 months and each week had a different group of 12-16 year olds to look after and teach them how to survive in the wild. Catching and cooking our food, building shelters to sleep in and different ways to make fire were just some of the topics covered.

Tutoring Approach:

An essential part of great exam grades is an understanding of not only the subject area, but an understanding of the underlying question. Tailoring a teaching style to every student is essential, especially when it comes to science and maths. Although it's possible to pass exams with a "copy and paste" approach, developing an understanding of the subject area will yield much better grades and almost certainly reducing the amount of stress associated with exams.

Any questions please drop me a message!

Personal Description:
Currently, I am a Lecturer at London Metropolitan University in Chemistry (Bachelor level) and Visitor research scientist follow at The Open University. I am a PhD degree (Full-time study) holder in Chemistry from The Open University and Master's and Bachelor degrees in Chemistry from Bordeaux 1 University, France. I have been a tutor in Chemistry, Maths, Physics, French and Arabic with different agencies in London.
I am able to teach Chemistry for all level and Maths, Physics, French and Arabic for GCSE or National 3-5 and Secondary (11 to 14 years) students.

Teaching Experience:

I have taken every opportunity to develop my teaching skills while working at London Metropolitan University and The Open University. These include chemistry laboratory teaching, mentoring and training of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. I have also participated in various educational projects in other universities. For example, at the University of Bordeaux I, Science and Technology in France,

I strive to vary my teaching style to meet the learning needs of individual students. I have received high performance reviews for my ability to creatively make complex topics manageable. I am patient creative organized and
energetic.
Schools and universities focus on conveying a large amount of information to their students. But for most people that is not enough to create genuine understanding and an ability to answer exam questions. That is why many students, regardless of their ability, seek to get extra help from a private tutor.

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves. My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the students' personal barriers to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a deep and lasting understanding of the subject.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach varies depending on the student's needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don't lecture to students or ask them to memorise things. Nor do I do the students' homework for them!

I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student's understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs.

I believe passionately in the huge value of tutoring to students and take great satisfaction in seeing my students achieve their full potential.

Personal Description:
I am currently a Nursing student in my 2nd year of study. I finished my A Levels in 2013 and spent two years working in a supermarket and Science Lab.
I play team sports when I am also in charge of charity work and a qualified first aider.

Teaching Experience:

I previously tutored science up to GCSE level while studying for my A Level examinations. Then after finishing school tutored many other core subjects at varying standards.
When coming to university I continued tutoring maths and basic study skills

Tutoring Approach:

I believe tutoring should be individualised to the student and will take the time to adapt to their needs. I believe the best way to learn is to do and that everyone can learn when they feel confident.

Tutoring Approach:

Levels of Tuition

If you are new to photography or you have a keen passion to learn more about the art of digital photography, I can offer you a suitable level of tuition to suit your needs.

Basic Level Photography

Starting from scratch, I can teach you all need to know about using any make or model of digital camera. From selecting the correct camera settings such as ISO, shutter speed and aperture settings to suit any particular subject, I can teach you all you need to know about using your camera for basic level photography.

Intermediate Level Photography

Going beyond the basic settings on the camera, I can also teach you about composition, lead-in lines, depth-of-field, selective focusing and the use of close-up filters and ring-flash for close-up photography.

Advanced Tuition

Advanced tuition allows students to select a more specific style of tuition. This can include anything from using neutral density filters for motion-blur and zoom-burst photography to using your camera for creative landscape & nature photography with workshops held 'on-location' at a variety of internationally important nature reserves, including RSPB Minsmere.

Image Enhancement & Printing

If required, we can also demonstrate how to use your computer's software to fine-tune and enhance the quality of your images.

Personal Description:
Hello,

My name is Zoe. I am a PhD, experienced teacher, tutor and youth worker. During my career, I have seen how young people can easily be the victim of missed opportunities through various reasons. It was my desire to leave teaching in order to pursue that which inspired my long journey: to make a difference in a young person`s life, who truly needs it.

I now run my private tutoring business to provide a personal scheme of learning carefully tailored to each individual.

Also, I provide a free half an hour "Meet and Greet" session where we can discuss in detail expectations, prices and curriculum.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience as a teacher at Secondary School and College level. I have been with the Youth Offending Team for a few years now and have specialist training in various types of "difficult" behaviour.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a tailored approach. Each person is an individual. Through a Meet and Greet, we have the opportunity to get to know each other and so I can get to know the student's needs and curriculum. From there, we can work together to create a tailored scheme of work and activities.

Personal Description:
I am a high achieving MSc Civil and Structural Engineering graduate with excellent work and study pedigree. I graduated with Distinction from Coventry University, United Kingdom. I am currently carrying out a PhD research in Engineering in Coventry University. My experiences so far has enabled me to build a broad range of leadership and interpersonal skills. Therefore, I am able to manage challenging behavior and communicate effectively with people from diverse background.

Teaching Experience:

I have a strong passion for teaching mathematics, logical and quantitative reasoning concepts. My ability to grasps the basic ideas in maths have allowed me to excel in technical concepts in Engineering. I have an experience of teaching undergraduates through the support assistant role in the university. I have had a one-on-one experience teaching and supporting an undergraduate student with great success in his studies and research work. I am really desirous of further developing my skills as a tutor in mathematics. This will enable me to further build a strong career as a teacher and lecturer. I served as a maths and computer education teacher in a secondary school during my compulsory national youth service just after my graduation from the university. I have had the experience of learning and applying real life mathematics concepts of trigonometry and algebra as an engineer working in the construction industry. A typical example of this was in the development of survey data for the design of roads and in the preparation of bill of quantities.

Tutoring Approach:

As a maths tutor, I have the aim of creating in students the ability to understand the basic ideas in mathematics. I also do aspire to instill in students the confidence that aids excellence in problem - solving especially in examinations as well as in answering questions to unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that the capacity to grasps and retain the needed skills is to relate mathematics with real life experiences. This then easily creates the atmosphere for the development of real passion for learning and appreciating the subject. Hence, I do not strive to make the student quote the ideas and the notions involved in the subject, instead I encourage the student draw analogies. Even though my approach does vary depending on the needs and learning style of the student involved, I do aim to foster independence in the student by encouraging deep critical thinking. After teaching a particular topic in mathematics, my method of assessment is to test the student's understanding through additional problems and humorous games that relate to the topic. Also, in order to assess the level of my teaching strategy, I do request feedback from the student on a regular basis.
