| Personal Description: I have recently completed my MSc Mathematics degree at Queen Mary University of London. Also I obtained my BSc Mathematics in 2007. I have done GCSE maths to be familiar with the subject curriculum since I am a overseas student . My degrees in Mathematics have provided me with the knowledge and confidence to teach Key stages 3, 4 . |
Teaching Experience: In April 2006 I began my first work experience as a teacher at Jalalabad college in Bangladesh. During my work experience I taught A-level students. The observations of experienced teachers' lessons allowed me to observe their planning, structure and pupil/teacher interaction so that I was able to incorporate the positive attributes I had seen into my own teaching and planning. This work experience provided me with the opportunity to work with many pupils who have special education needs. I have therefore learnt a great deal about the many aspects of incorporating differentiation into a lesson. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe that equal opportunities are an important factor to allow pupils to progress. Activities should be differentiated and appropriate to the level of each individual student. I reckon work with a student in a face to face situation demands more from a teacher and this will help me to develop as a teacher as well as gain more knowledge in those subjects. |

| Personal Description: Hello, I am a Masters student studying at Queen Mary and I already have a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science. I currently live and study in inner London, so travelling is not a problem for home tutoring. I also tutor students from my own family home if that is something you should prefer. I teach students from the age of 5 years to undergraduate university level. My primary subjects are the sciences, specifically BIOLOGY & CHEMISTRY and i do well teaching numeracy and literacy for primary school children. |
Teaching Experience: As mentioned already I am a Masters student, I am NOT a qualified (PGCE) teacher. However I do hold a current CRB check. I currently teach Biology and Chemistry GCSE and A-Level students and I also teach primary school children. I am familiar with the current primary and secondary school curriculum as well as what is required for students to success in exams ie exam technique and revision plans. Especially if you are looking for help with GCSE and A Levels subjects. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe every students' needs are different from one another. I also believe that every child has the potential to succeed academically. Schools often have one set way of teaching something, however not all students learn the same way. Some are better with reading books whilst others need that extra bit of time and attention. I understand this, and will work according to the students' best learning ability ; ie Kinesthetic learner or visual learner etc. A will do my best to improve the grade of the student by working as a team. |

| Personal Description: I am an Engineering graduate with both a bachelors and a Masters degree.I have a solid foundation in sciences especially the natural sciences like physics, chemistry and mathematics.Teaching comes to me naturally because it brings me a lot of satisfaction seeing someone i have tutored excel.I am also someone that believes in making teaching something of fun to remember naturally different from a hard and fast approach.I am also a hardworking, success-driven and a fast learner with good problem-solving skills. I have the ability to perform effectively and accurately when working to set deadlines and under pressure. |
Teaching Experience: My experience in teaching is an everyday aspect of my life.I started teaching since i completed my high school and have nurtured quite a number of students and colleagues alike to attain success either in their academics or project.I have taught a lot of students in subjects like mathematics,English ,chemistry,Physics and other non traditional subjects.I make sure most of my students attain a success rate by making them not just pass but also enjoy the subjects making the knowledge of the subjects a normal activity and a joyful experience. |
Tutoring Approach: My Approach is simple.First you need to be able to understand and communicate with your pupil of interest because i know from experience that every pupil is different in perception of ideas and approach towards learning.I try to create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere to be able to allow the pupil express their ideas.Through this approach,it is easy to identify the barriers holding back the candidate in a particular subject area hence aids in tapping and optimizing the talent embedded in the pupil. This also enables the pupil to know his strength and weaknesses and areas where more concentration should be emphasized. |

| Personal Description: I am a friendly and charismatic 23 year old with a passion for all areas of science. My real area of expertise is neuroscience, but I have a deep understanding of most aspects of human biology. I achieved a very strong A grade in A2 Biology (scoring 100% in one module) and went on to pursue my interest in this subject by completing a Biomedical Science degree at Leeds Uni. I am currently self-employed, providing data analysis and consultancy services for private health care providers. |
Teaching Experience: I have a passion for explaining things to others, and feel that I have a gift for helping people to grasp abstract and complex concepts. Although I have never worked as a teacher or tutor I have a lot of related experience. While at university I worked part-time for a school events company for 3 years. In this role I visited many schools across the North, delivering enterprise education to 10-18 year old pupils of varying background and ability. I also have younger brothers aged 14 and 16 who are studying GCSE science and AS level biology. I am currently providing voluntary tuition to them in these subjects. |
Tutoring Approach: Science is a subject which opens people's minds to the way the world around them works. This knowledge is empowering, and those "I get it now!" moments are accompanied by a sense of pride and accomplishment. These valuable moments come at all levels of science education. Each individual student responds differently to different methods of teaching, which means that schools struggle to cater to each individual's needs. I approach education with the view that people learn in different ways, and what works with one individual might not be of use to another. I am a firm believer that science is best learned in context, and is far more fascinating when delivered with historical perspectives, such as stories of discovery and invention. I am happy to provide tuition to all levels of ability, and will provide online tuition for 10 p.h. |

Teaching Experience: I have successfully tutored primary children while in College. My mother is a qualified teacher and has been tutoring school children for many years(In India). |
Tutoring Approach: I believe its important to have an individualistic approach and tailor the teaching according to the needs of the child. It is important to identify the weak points and strong points of child and teach accordingly. I would want to make teaching an enjoyable , enriching and stimulating experience for th echild, and make th echild realise that ' Knowledge is Power'. I would be more than happy to explain more than once/twice, until I am asssure dthat the student understands the concept. I believe it is very important to have good foundations, so making sure that the student understands the basic concepts is imperative. It is important to make things and concepts interesting by giving logical examples from everyday life for science subjects. |

| Personal Description: Fun, friendly, dedicated professional female! I am currently working at Sky Television in Osterley, and I am a Research Engineer. I am 31 years old and have been educated upto Masters level. I love reading (anything from the Classics to modern teen fiction), theatre, movies (again, anything from old classics to modern futuristic to chick flicks). I have a relaxed, yet conscientious manner and pride myself on being able to relate to just about anyone I meet and making them feel comfortable, positive and confident. |
Teaching Experience: Most recently I have taken part in voluntary tutoring at local schools through a scheme at work. In earlier years I have tutored students ranging from 11+ to University, however now due to time constraints I would need to set my cut off at GCSE students. I have tutored in the following subjects: English Lit & Language (GCSE), Maths (11+, GCSE, A Levels and Batchelors), Physics (11+, GCSE), Combined Science (GCSE). My students have ranged from re-takes to going for the exams the first time round, and I am extremely proud of my success rate - all my GCSE students have achieved a grade C or above for the tutored subject and their final grade achieved has always been at least one grade higher than when they started the tutoring. |
Tutoring Approach: Group tuition is also available (20ph for 1 student, then 35ph for 2 students, 45ph for 3 students etc for GCSE standard sessions). I set achievable, realistic goals depending on the student's capability however I am a strong believer that there are no limits to what you can achieve should you apply yourself and have a little confidence! The first thing I would do is set you a little test in order for me to able to assess your current level, and to figure out what we need to do to get you to where you want to be. we will work together step by step to achieve our joint goal :). I believe that there are many ways in which a student can learn and overcome their difficulties - I will find the right way for you! Learning should inspire you and make you feel more comfortable about setting out into the world. Once we have an arrangement, I am contactable out of hours, within reason! e.g. on the phone for any last minute problems and panics. I am also flexible and can do more or less lessons in a particular week, to suit the student. |

| Personal Description: I have just completed my A Levels and am taking a year out before taking up a place at Edinburgh to study Physics in 2011. |
Teaching Experience: I have no formal teaching experience, but have frequently helped students both from my year group and from younger years at school with physics and maths. Having just been through the school system I think I have a unique understanding of the needs of the students and the stresses which they are going through. I have found that students often respond well to a teacher who they can relate to. |
Tutoring Approach: Every student has different needs so it is important to be flexible, and most essentially to determine the student's own pace of working. So often in maths lessons particularly, students get left behind because the teacher moves on before the student has grasped the basic concepts. |

Teaching Experience: * Taught Mathematics and Physics in 11-18 sector in Essex for 8 years. * Taught Physics, Electronic Systems and Computer Programming in Further Education College for 2 years. * Currently working as a free-lance tutor for private students and Offender Learning Services (HM Prisons). |
Tutoring Approach: As a personal tutor I help learners to unlock their full potential. The environment of a large classroom often hinders results and limits development. I find that different approaches and environments improve results and increase enthusiasm to learn and the ability to work independently. I aim to tailor tuition for the individual learner. At the intial session we agree a plan of action based on the learner's needs. We continue to review this plan as needs change. The tuition is intended to support study at school or college or individual study (eg distance learning courses). Sessions are informal but focussed and enjoyable. I set homework if required but prefer to concentrate on understanding and practice within the session. |

| Personal Description: I am 47 years old, married with three children. I entered teaching in September 1991 following the successful completion of a Postgraduate Certificate of Education at the University of Bristol in July 1991. During the years between graduating from Sussex University with a 2.1 degree in Chemistry and becoming a teacher, I worked as a laboratory technician for a fertilizer manufacturer and I studied for a Master Degree that I successfully completed in 1990. I am a practical person who enjoys home improvements, car maintenance and gardening. I am an active member of my local Baptist Church. I teach children in "Extreme". This is a Sunday School class for boys and girls in years 5 and 6. |
Teaching Experience: I spent six years during the 1990's teaching balanced science courses to students aged eleven to sixteen and Advanced Level Chemistry to post sixteen students. I tutored a group of approximately thirty students from Year 7 through to Year 11, helping them with their personal, emotional and academic development. I have recently returned to teaching following a break of approximately eleven years. Between January 2009 and July 2009 I worked as a supply teacher working in a range of Secondary Schools in Coventry and Warwickshire. During the late 1990's, whilst not directly employed as a teacher, I worked part-time as a Tutor, visiting students in their own homes and helping them with their understanding of Science and Maths at Key Stages 3 and 4. |
Tutoring Approach: I prefer students to present me with specific problems or areas of study where they appear to be struggling with their knowledge, understanding or application of Science. This means that each session can be planned and prepared in advance, so that the available time may be used to its maximum affect. I like to use text books, past exam papers and (where possible) IT resources, to provide clear explanations of key scientific concepts and examples of the types of questions students may encounter in an examination. |

| Personal Description: I have a dual background in Electrical Engineering and Psychology and retired in 2007 after 20 years as a University lecturer. At different stages in my career I taught both Psychology and Software Engineering/Artificial Intelligence. For relaxation I listen to jazz and blues. |
Teaching Experience: I have been tutoring since March 2008 and am able tooffer maths, physics and ICT from primary up to 'A' level, general science (biology, chemistry, and physics) up to GCSE level, and psychology at 'A' level and university level. A number of my tutees have been following courses in IGCSE Maths or Science or the IB in Maths or Physics. My specialist areas in psychology at university level are developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, personality and intelligence, and research methods. I am a chartered psychologist and can carry out educational and psychological assessments of both children and adults who are experiencing learning or language difficulties (however, I do not undertake remedial teaching). |
Tutoring Approach: Consider it important to assess the pupil's needs, strengths, and weaknesses carefully at the outset in order to develop a set of goals based on this assessment. Aim to provide well-structured and clearly presented instruction, which if the pupil is able and well-motivated will generally lead to progress. If the pupil is poorly motivated and/or has acquired unhelpful learning habits then may need to vary the approach in order to re-engage their interest and/or find a level at which they can perform successfully, and then build on this accomplishment. |
