Personal Description:
I'm a very approachable person who interacts well with students of all ages. Most would say that I have a positive outlook on life and always leave a positive impact on those I meet. I'm friendly, down to earth and honest. My philosophy is that studies don't have to be boring, and I always use my career as a teacher/tutor as testament to this.

I enjoy a variety of different things such as arts, culture and cuisine. My hobbies include drawing comic strips, magna, anime and playing electric bass. I am open minded and welcome students of any age, race, background and culture as an honour for me to teach.

Teaching Experience:

Over 7 years experience teaching and tutoring in and out of classrooms. I have taught both in the UK and abroad. I am one of the few teachers in London who is able to teach Mathematics, English Language, English Literature and the three respective Sciences to A* at GCSE.

Tutoring Approach:

Each student is different, and I feel it an insult to my students' integrity to tell them how to revise when first meeting them. Through my experience teaching, there is no right way to study, but there are a variety of 'better' ways to make the best grades for each person's potential.

Many students approach me frustrated that they often don't achieve the same calibre as their peers despite the hours they put in. Often it is due to the fact that they aren't their peers and a different approach to revision and homework is required. I believe in working smart before working hard.

We'll tailor a program as a team, and prioritise it factorising your: current ablities, time proximity, and scope of subjects you'd like to cover.

Personal Description:
I am an honours graduate of computer science and electronics. I spent 17 years in corporate management before becoming self employed as, among other things, a freelance lecturer. I am a professional life coach and tutor for enjoyment.

Please note, I will generally add a call out fee to the tuition fee shown, which goes some way to covering petrol and time in getting to you and home again. This is usually £6 or less - I can confirm the final figure with you when I know approximately where you are.

Teaching Experience:

I taught freelance for Bedford College for 4 years, and have been tutoring for 9 years. I have qualifications in adult teaching, and my coaching qualification also helps a lot.

Tutoring Approach:

Effective tutoring is a wonderful opportunity because I can tailor what I do very specifically for the student I'm working with, and that's as much about their personality and stress levels as it is about the material we're working with. I believe in teaching understanding rather than isolated rules, it builds confidence and security and does not rely on memory. My sessions are as relaxed and fun-filled as I can possibly make them without sacrificing the learning task before us.

Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified Geography Teacher with a BSc (2i) Honours Degree and PGCE in Geography with Geology from Birmingham University in Edgbaston and I specialise in Physical Geography at Advanced Level. I gained the David Linton University prize for fieldwork. I have lived in Farnham for over 21 years ( local knowledge I believe is important especially to Geography). I am married to Martin and we have 4 delightful children, two girls and two boys aged 14-22. Our eldest two are at University (Bristol & Surrey), the youngest in the local State Secondary School. I have followed our children's education closely and encouraged them on their way, so feel I have much way of personal experience.
I have also been involved with local youth and community work during my time out of the classroom and have had extensive training in Pastoral Care seeing each person as unique & individual. I take pleasure in helping to bring out the very best in each individual and this comes with encouraging young people to be disciplined in study and to grow in confidence and believe in their own abilities, one to one tutoring/coaching plays a vital role here and has many benefits.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in both the Private and State Sectors in 11-18 schools as well recently in as a Sixth Form College, teaching Geography to Key Stages (KS) 3,4 and 5. I am experienced in coaching pupils in Geography/Geology to GSCE, AS, A2 (various boards) and IB exam levels. but am also experienced & qualified to teach science at KS 2,3 &4. I have tutored for Common Extrance Exam Level in Science and have found this to be very rewarding for both tutee & tutor. I have experience in careers advise too.
I love teaching and enthuse about my subjects, Geography& Environmental Science are so much fun, and link both the Arts & Sciences, subjects that are so relevant and topical, extremely practical and liked by Higher Education Establishments and employers alike. I work as a part-time teacher in school to enable time for tutoring one-to-one which I find so rewarding. A recent example is an A2 Geography student who was so pleased to achieve a grade "B", he worked so hard and improved substantially on his predicted D grade. He is now at University and has kept in touch.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe one to one tutoring can make all the difference for some pupils particularly when it comes to training in exam technique; dealing with individual topic difficulties; practising papers and building confidence in ones own abilities so encouraging independent learning. There are plenty of resources to aid learning out there in this day and age but often it is hard to find the wood from the trees and learning to focus and find the best for the individual is not always easy. I believe it is crucial to assess the individual student needs and learning styles in the first instance and then build the lessons from there. This requires flexibility, experience and maturity on the part of the Tutor and this is what I feel I can offer as both an experienced teacher and mother of 4 of my own children.

Personal Description:
I am married with a daughter of 24 and a son of 21. On occasion I help my husband garden for the elderly and disabled. I graduated from Exeter University in 1985. Teaching has always been a vocation rather than a job as I love seeing the 'penny drop'.

Teaching Experience:

In the last 2 Secondary schools I was a Deputy Head of Science and the Professional Tutor for the school. Whilst teaching I covered the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 syllabus. I then had the pleasure of working in the primary sector for 6 years teaching the Key Stage 2 syllabus. Since 2005 I have been tutoring students ranging from 7 years of age to adults. Education Otherwise gave me the opportunity to teach in various homes during the day. I offer day time tutoring to fit the needs of the individual student.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is informal. I believe students learn best when they are at ease and not under pressure. If students are distracted in their own home I offer them tuition in my home. My students marks have improved by 2 grades and in the last 18 months several have jumped up 3 grades leaving students, parents and myself very happy.

Personal Description:
I am a First class Chemistry with Biochemistry graduate from Queen Mary University of London who is also studying to teach English as a foreign language. I have been privately tutoring for close to 5 years now. I am currently aspiring to take up a profession as a lecturer. I believe that knowledge empowers and that anyone can acquire it, with the right support!

I am aware that many students study with the concept of the sciences, especially Chemistry and Physics. The pressure can be daunting for a teen and I want to be able to make people `see` in a scientific way, be able to bring understanding so that they can take on any examination and achieve the grades they desire.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring professionally since 2010 and have helped various students boost their confidence and achieve their goals. My students have come from all backgrounds and have ranged from Year 6 to A2.

Before this, I was a tutor to my peers while studying my A-Levels. I also currently tutor my brother (he doesn't pay, of course) in preparation for his 11+ in 2016. From my experience as a professional tutor, I have taught in several families with 8/10 people continuing tuition past 3 months.

Tutoring Approach:

I understand that students learn in various ways, so I try to structure my tutorials to suit individual needs. Generally however, I strive for a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and sometimes take an informal approach towards learning especially where the tougher concepts are concerned. I am always professional!

I implore hands-on techniques (where applicable) and encourage participation and thought-provoking discussion. I encourage my students to ask "why?" I like to think that I am helping students become thinkers and not crammers.

I also make use of feedback mechanisms which can include tests or assignments (formal or informal) to assess understanding and progress.

NB if you live more than 5 miles from my location, I will NOT be able to travel to you and may not respond to those inquiries.
Proof of qualifications available if required, but ask me as I do not upload them onto tutoring sites.
There is a one-off admin cost due to UKtutors which is collected by the end of the first lesson. This one-off cost is not added to the rate per hour listed on my profile. This allows me to keep rates ph low, so you can have as many hours as you require. Some tutors add this cost to their hourly rate.

Personal Description:
I am hoping to study Physics at Sussex University in September and I have always enjoyed Maths and the Sciences. I attended King Edward VI Grammar School.

Teaching Experience:

I've tutored a few Key Stage 3 pupils and thoroughly enjoyed this. I also used to instruct cadets in my school's cadet force and I took part in a project to teach year 9 pupils ICT.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to tutor through example, helping the pupil work through several questions before allowing them to attempt one themselves. I find this allows the pupils to understand the process through which the question is completed.

Personal Description:
Hi I am Rieman. I am currently studying at London School of Economics and Political Science(LSE) in BSc Actuarial Science. This is a discipline that applies interrelated subjects, including mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, probability to assess risks in insurance, banking, finance and across other industries and professions.

I started teaching because I enjoy mathematics and economics-related subjects and motivate others to find similar enthusiasm in these subjects.

I have given private tuition to a number of pupils with excellent results. I offer friendly, relaxed lessons individually or in small groups of students, tailored exactly to what the tutee requires. My aim is always to raise the achievements of my pupils above their expectations with my lessons.

I am able to work at home or in the pupil's home or any suitable place outside and can travel up to about 15 miles.

Teaching Experience:

I have more than three year`s experience in 1:1 as well as 1:5 teaching Mathematics and Economics.
I have strong interest in Maths, Economics and Biology. I obtained Country Highest in Economics at O Level and consistently obtained 90+ marks in Maths.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim for a relaxed and comfortable but efficient method of tuition by working through problems, explaining difficult areas clearly.

Confidence is gained through clear explanations and examples, and guided problem solving.

Tutoring Approach:

Tutoring Approach
I feel that having a good foundation to any subject is the way to go thus this would usually where I begin. If a student has a good understanding of the basics in any subject, more complicated details will seem much easier; like building blocks. After this, a focus on the weaker areas would then be applied to reinforce the student's understanding.

To begin, I start with revision techniques, worksheets and make new, very detailed, class/revision notes with my students. After developing a solid understanding, I begin with exam questions . Every lesson I give them homework. Essentially, what I offer are school lessons that are more detailed and focused than what they receive in school. Through these methods, I am able to thoroughly assess a student's abilities, increase them and hopefully up their grades.

My innovative pedagogies and teaching style and teacher friendly approach makes the concepts easy and passion and love for teaching has made me popular among my students

Personal Description:
I am currently employed full time by a major international pharmaceutical company. I volunteer with STEMNET to teach science and maths lessons in school, encouraging young children to have more of an interest in these subjects and introducing them to potential career opportunities. I have a number of students at the moment in Hertfordshire and Essex, and enjoy tuition very much as I have a keen Interest in the subjects I teach and like to share that with others.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for the past two years, and have great recommendations from my students. Previously I would tutor adhoc for friends and family, but enjoyed it so much that I decided to make it more official.

Tutoring Approach:

I understand that all students are different and have different study needs. I like to take time to get to know the student and understand their difficulties. I know that for the most part students seek tuition because conventional education methods have failed them and so they need a more tailored approach, and the time to find their own way into the topic.

Personal Description:
I have been a tutor for over 5 years and have taught over 45 students in that time.
I am currently training to become a teacher, by studying towards a PGCE with the Open University.
I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2010 with a M.Sci in Natural Science. I focus on improving confidence and question answering technique as well as fostering a deeper understanding of each topic. By relating theoretical concepts to everyday ideas, I help students find the common-sense structure hiding behind abstract numbers and theories. I also provide intensive exam preparation.

Teaching Experience:

From September 2011 - December 2012, I worked as an Editor at Boardworks in Oxford, a company that makes science and maths teaching resources for UK teachers and schools. This means I have a very clear understanding not only of the subjects and how to teach them, but also what is covered in school, by which exam boards and at what age, from 14 to 18 years. In December 2012, I left Boardworks in order to pursue a full-time career as a tutor, a choice that I continue to find incredibly rewarding and stimulating.

In the year between graduating and starting work at Boardworks, I held an number of education-related placements and internships, notably at University College London, in the Public Engagement Unit and as an Education Assistant in the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Science, Cambridge.

In 2010 I graduated from Queens' College, University of Cambridge with M.Sci in Natural Science. This course covered maths, physics, evolution and behaviour, paleontology, geochemistry, geophysics, climatology and geomorphology. This allows me to teach all science subjects to high level, and point out the links and relationships between the different sciences and maths.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor each lesson to suit the student's needs. The first few lessons usually focus on getting to know the student and their strengths and weaknesses. I identify areas for improvement and use subsequent lessons to work on these, as well as ensuring that the student is comfortable with the whole of the syllabus. Closer to the exam season, we will focus on improving question technique and creating links across the curriculum.

Personal Description:
I am 23 years old and have a Masters degree in Mathematics from University College London, specialising in fluid dynamics and applied mathematics, for which I was awarded Upper Second Class Honours (68%). I am currently on an accounting graduate scheme for a top financial services company in London. Having studied Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Geography at A-Level, I feel that I will make an experienced tutor in these subject areas. I am also able to impart drive, motivation and advise to enable students follow a successful path through academia and into a successful job.

Teaching Experience:

I have been involved with teaching throughout my education often teach my fellow students whilst studying together. I am comfortable with children, young adults and adults of all ages. I am flexible to teach all UK exam boards and will happily adapt to each students needs.

For some representative examples of my experience, please see below.

Mike - GCSE/AS/A level Mathematics - AQA - achieved three A A-levels and is studying a Edinburgh university.
Amy - GCSE/AS/A level Mathematics + GCSE Physics - achieved AAB and is studying at Cardiff university.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel myself and the student must work hard together during sessions and not everything will come easy. By working well together we can succeed and get the most out of the time he/she spends. I aim to encourage the student as much as possible during the sessions, and explain fully any sections the remain unclear.

Personal Description:
I am currently studying for an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience at UCL, after previously studying for a BSc in Neuroscience at Bristol. I am very passionate about Science and I am a native English speaker.

Teaching Experience:

I have previously tutored GCSE Science and Maths, being particularly familiar with the Edexcel exam board for Maths and AQA Science.

I also currently tutor primary aged children in English, Maths and Science.

Tutoring Approach:

I find that exam technique is very important for GCSE level and I aim to cover this thoroughly with the student, including past papers.
Questions are great to establish where the student feels confident in their work and how they learn best, so that the tutoring can be tailored to their needs.
I find that a quick quiz at the end of each session helps to consolidate what has been learnt.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic and dedicated young person with a passion to teach other people. My area of expertise is in Undergraduate Medicine as this is the degree for which I am studying and currently completing my 3rd year. I also have a passion for teaching both Biology and Chemistry, two subjects I studied to a high level at school, to students who may need help.

Teaching Experience:

I do not have any formal teaching experience as such. However I have been involved with two teaching societies at my medical since my first year. One of the societies involved delivering lectures to large groups of students regarding tough or complex topics covered in the medical school syllabus. The other society is more individual based, and provides personal/small group tutoring for students who are having particular trouble with certain topics in the syllabus. This has given me invaluable experience in tutoring students as it has allowed me to receive extensive feedback on my tutoring methods and has given me a great sense of fulfilment when students understand and learn concepts from my teaching sessions.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to make my tutoring sessions very much student-based, and sometimes even student-led. My sessions are all based around the specific needs of the student I am tutoring, whether that be explanation of a complex topic in the syllabus, or helping a student with their revision and devising a revision timetable. I am very flexible in my tutoring and can adapt to suit different students and what they want to get from the tutoring sessions. I feel this is a very important aspect of my tutoring service as, through years of being a student myself, I have found that everyone is different and everyone has a different style of learning. By incorporating this into my tutoring sessions from the beginning, I can ensure that the student gets the most out of the tutoring sessions and thus leaves with a renewed understanding or greater knowledge of the topics studied.

Whilst my main area of expertise lies in undergraduate medicine I am also available to teach a wide range of topics:
- GCSE Biology
- GCSE Chemistry
- A Level Biology
- A Level Chemistry
- Medical School Admissions
- Medical School Personal Statement Sessions
- General UCAS Personal Statement Sessions
- UKCAT Medical School Admission Exam
- Medical School "Mock" Interviews and Interview Preparation
- Undergraduate MBBS Medicine Preclinical Sciences

*on special request I may also be able to tutor A Level Psychology and provide tutoring sessions for the 11+ exam

The tutoring sessions will be developed to suit the student, as discussed above. The sessions can also include the creation of a revision timetable and multiple tutoring sessions, in addition to regular single tutor sessions to explain certain topics.

Personal Description:
I'm Joe Ee and I'm just graduated from my degree in Accounting & Finance at Coventry University, West Midlands and attending Masters degree in September 2015 for MSc in Finance in Birmingham.

I enjoy sports, staying active and love to interact with people especially kids. I enjoy teaching and learning new things from different people.

I'm offering Tutoring from August 2015 onwards for students who wish to prepare for their daily homeworks in primary level to secondary level/learning extra language such as Mandarin.

Obviously since I'm young and fairly inexperienced I'm willing to offer tuition for very competitive rates. And I can speak for more than 3 languages. (Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Malay)
I am a very patient, understanding and relaxed tutor.
I am adaptable and knowledgeable of different methods of teaching and learning.

Teaching Experience:

Even Though I am still very young, I still have some teaching experience especially home tutoring for students who need help and monitor for their daily homeworks and preparing for school examinations.

I felt this benefited the students concerned and I personally felt great satisfaction in helping these students understand their learning in any way possible.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel that it is very important to encourage the student to consistently practice what he/she has learned in class or in session. This is particularly important for primary/secondary students in order to form a good habit of learning; I say this from my own very recent personal experiences. Cliche says " Practice makes perfect". Spending some extra time on studies really does to improve child's learning capabilities Time is of the essence so I feel it's important to spend the tutoring session as productively as possible, helping to perfect the student's exam technique and demonstrating how to approach certain topics.
