Personal Description:
I am a postgraduate from the University of Leeds with a degree in Translation Studies with French. I have a passion for speaking French and I enjoy helping others with theirs. Simple as that really.

Teaching Experience:

Despite my relatively young age I have lots of teaching experience. I have been an English language assistant in France on two occasions, most recent of which was last year. I have worked with people with both adults and children ranging from ages 7 to 40

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is fairly straight-forward, to keep it relaxed and as informal as possible. I believe the best results can be obtained when the student is relaxed and confident, especially with regards to trying to speak a foreign language, as sometimes in a school environment the student lacks the confidence to ask questions. Rest assured, under my tuition your competence in written and spoken French will improve greatly, and hopefully it will be fun!

Personal Description:
Students and enhancing their unique learning experience are my priorities. I am a highly experienced and qualified English teacher, however I successfully help students achieve strong results in English, Maths and Science KS1-KS5. My passion for education is proven, as I have successfully taught numerous students who have achieved A/A* grades consistently at both GCSE and A level. I have my own professional premises that are established as a vital centre of learning within the Wolverhampton area. Also my style of 11+ teaching is engaging and provides excellent examination results. All my 11+ students have gained entry to their chosen school at this level.

With me you get a totally unique, bespoke educational experience that transforms students' current level of attainment into the realms of excellence and brilliance. This is achieved through structured, interactive lessons that provide meticulous attention to detail with SPAG, nurturing a passion for their subject and overall learning, my ability to engage students 100% with exciting and tailored tuition and my strong commitment to raising student's confidence and self belief.

Ensuring early academic development throughout KS2 to KS3 is fundamental to academic success later on. Early study skills such as securing planning skills for writing, solid comprehension skills and regular application of essential strategies and methods in both literacy and numeracy make all the difference to a child's education and ability to learn effectively.

Academic performance is about results, and students need to fully understand this while simultaneously enjoying their learning throughout all stages of development.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for over ten years in the Uk and I have a 100% pass rate for 11+, additionally all of my private and mainstream school students have achieved a grade B or above at both GCSE and A level. Additionally, I specialise in English, Maths and Science KS3 SATs tuition.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is student centred and based on performance, success and examination technique. I make all my one to one lessons fun, stimulating and engaging. Lessons should be informative, focused and really embrace the student's own unique learning style. All students enjoy my lessons and provide continuously strong feedback and testimonials.

Personal Description:
I am an actor currently completing an MA at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and an arts enthusiast with incisive critical engagement skills and 5 years private tuition experience. I'm able to draw from a wide range of critical theories and approaches when analysing arts and performance related texts. A big fan of film, theatre, visual art, music, literature and comedy.

Teaching Experience:

I graduated from Royal Holloway in 2011 with the highest degree grade of the graduate year. I was approached by many of my co-students to advise them on essays and creative work and was employed by the Drama department to run workshops for prospective students. I'm now a professional theatre-maker and freelance drama practitioner having led workshops with a wide spectrum of people from ages 10 up to 75 years old. I also offer audition guidance and monologue tuition for actors and acting students.

Testimonial from Ina:

"Thank you for all your help with my Film Studies, I ended up getting an A* and also an A* in Media Studies. so I got my place at the University of Exeter to study Management with Marketing, thanks a lot, I couldn't have done it without you!"

I'm a meticulous problem solver and am able to pinpoint areas that need attention, particularly in essays, coursework and presentation work. I'm a natural entertainer but always maintain focus on the task at hand, offering insightful, productive and engaging tuition sessions to my students.

Personal Description:
Hi,
My name is Andrew, I am in my early 50's and taught in private schools for 15 years. I then left education for change of lifestyle and other personal reasons. I have been married for over 25 years and have 2 daughters 24 and 22. I am a committed christian and as such the integrity of the teacher student relationship is very important to me; I would always go the extra mile to see that the student achieves their aims.

I have a current DBS. Loads of references available from Senior teachers and Deputy Headmasters past and present. (Present Headmasters are not the Heads for which I worked).

Teaching Experience:

Repton Prep School 1992 - 2006, Maths, ICT to year 8. Head of ICT.

Manor House School 2006-2007, Maths and ICT to GCSE. Head of ICT.

Private tutor, 3 years, A level (not statistics - sorry), GCSE and Y6 SAT's, Entrance Exams.

I have also coached football, hockey and cricket so I have a solid foundation in motivating students.

Tutoring Approach:

Motivational, inspirational, encouraging. All things are possible with a good attitude. A can do approach. I do NOT subscribe to the "we don't do it like that mentality" , if there is a better way of doing something then I'm positive about new methods.
For example, when my daughters were learning their tables I wrote my own simple spreadsheet to enable tables practice on a table by table random basis. This is a completely unashamedly a drill system that produces results. Easily possible to learn all tables to 12 within a month if sufficient time is invested, it is also an enjoyable process that 99% of the children that I taught enjoyed, I used the spreadsheet extensively in the schools at which I taught. Infinitely extendable for the brightest to 13, 14, 15 20x tables; likewise can be simplified to 2x and 3x for those that need more time. Also programmable to practise number bonds with any number of digits.

I have also developed the spreadsheet to enable learning of vocabulaire francais.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Taylor and I hold a PGCE, an MA, a BA, 2 years experience as a full-time lecturer and over 2 years as a personal tutor, but more of that below!

I'm 28 and work, by day, in film and television distribution. Film is my first love but I am passionate about education and about using mine to help others succeed in building their own.

My particular areas of strength are:
* Film and television studies
* Media theory and production
* English literature
* IT
* Mathematics

Although I am flexible with regards to the subject.

On a more personal level I have a great many interests and these include:
* Sports and fitness - I cycle and run a lot (most recently I ran the Coventry Half Marathon) and frequent the gym around 6 times per week. It is also my intention to enrol onto a BSc Sports Science degree in the near future.
* Music - I play guitar and up until recently had played in an indie rock band for 5 years.
* Travel, arts and culture - I am perpetually fascinated by all things 'Japan' although my appreciation of culture in general extends well beyond this.
* Cooking - I have a particular penchant for baking but take delight in the culinary arts altogether.

I am an open and honest individual with a high degree of motivation, inquisitiveness and enthusiasm and greatly look forward to working with you and/or your child.

Please don't hesitate to drop me a line should you have any specific questions.

Thanks a lot for your time,

Taylor.

Teaching Experience:

Prior to returning to university to complete my masters I spent 2 years as a full-time college lecturer. As a full-time lecturer in Creative Media Production I worked as a member of a small team guiding learners through a large variety of different media disciplines such as short film production, media theory and documentary production. In the last round of observations my teaching practice was graded 'Outstanding'.
In this role my responsibilities included:
• Co-leading the Level 3 in Creative Media Production team and course in achieving 100% success rates
• Producing educational material for use by team members in multiple topics including 'Short Film Production' and 'Advertising Production'
• Delivering 20 hours of lessons per week to 60+ learners across multiple courses for topics including 'Scriptwriting', 'Documentary Production', 'Radio Production' and film and media theory/history
• Examination and analysis of coursework in relation to official grading criteria

Tutoring Approach:

The approach that I have found to be the most rewarding has typically been very Humanist. That is to say that I place an emphasis on the learner's journey to self-actualisation by promoting their own sense of achievement, accomplishment of their set goals and enthusiasm for the given subject. However this approach is not exclusive, just as each learner is individual, and so the most important consideration of my approach to teaching is my understanding that effective learning has no prescribed path. As such my approach to tutoring is adaptive and fluid

Personal Description:
I've just finished a position as a researcher in pure maths at Lancaster University, and will be based in Bellshill, near Glasgow, and available to tutor in the area between mid-March and September, when I'll move to Clermont-Ferrand in France to start a new research position. Before Lancaster, I completed a doctorate in mathematics at Oxford.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive experience tutoring Mathematics at the Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Higher levels (Scottish equivalent of GCSE and A-level), and at AS and A-level. I have also been a teaching assistant and college tutor for several undergraduate Mathematics courses, across a number of topics in algebra and analysis and at all levels, at Oxford. In addition to this teaching experience, I have also assisted in giving undergraduate admissions interviews in Mathematics at Oriel College, Oxford, and so would be able to help students wishing to apply to Oxford in the nature and content of undergraduate maths interviews.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach in tutoring is oriented around the student: their expectations, background knowledge and way of thinking; and what they see as most important to focus on, be it a particular part of mathematics, or a certain type of problem. While it is useful and necessary for students to be familiar with certain recipes and templates for solving different types of problems, ideally, the aim is to give them a deeper understanding of the ideas behind the material they learn and the problems they are set. This provides a much firmer basis for an appreciation of mathematics and a greater problem solving ability.

Personal Description:
I am currently a First year student of the University of Nottingham studying Finance, Accounting and Management.

I am a very enthusiastic teacher who loves to share knowledge with other people and also love learning myself.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored both Maths and English to students in Manchester Academy, in both cases students made excellent progress.

I have also tutored all 3 sciences, Maths and English to 2 children between 2013 and 2015 as well as helping one of the students with her 11+ entrance exams.

Last year I tutored another 2 children, teaching GCSE maths and science.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe 1 to 1 teaching is the best form of teaching you can provide as the child can ask as many questions without fear and also you can work on a more personal level, compared with teaching around 30 children. I like this because I can then tailor the teaching to the child so they can learn in a way that suits them, for example, if the child learns through visuals I may draw many diagrams so explain points.

I would describe myself as easy-going, friendly and caring. I love cooking and food in general, so am working for a nutrition company and charity in London at the moment. I enjoy being active and will try my hand at any sport. I love travelling and meeting new people.

Teaching Experience:

In the past two years I have been tutoring GCSE (year 1) and AS-level AQA Biology. I am now also tutoring GCSE (year 2). I adapt my sessions to the students' areas of concern. I work closely with the specification as this outlines the topics the students are expected to learn and is the guideline for exam questions. I have also worked with primary-school children to increase their reading age in schools around Leeds, which has been very rewarding as you see the children progress.

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate and enthusiastic about my subjects and love seeing others get passionate about it too. I have experienced poor teaching and know how frustrating it can be, I do my best to approach new concepts from different angles. I feel patience is important on both sides.

Personal Description:
My name is Joseph and I am a recent graduate in Engineering Mathematics from Bristol University. My passion is in mathematics and programming, but I also have an active interest in sciences as well. My A-levels were mathematics, further mathematics, physics and chemistry with grades A*, A*, A, A respectively. I am also applying for PhDs in machine learning for video games as well.
Whilst being academically capable, I also consider myself to be a good teacher too. I have ran lectures on video editing, workshops on improvisational acting and worked on plenty of group projects requiring a lot of communication to make sure all members understand what has been done and needs to be done.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience has been less personal than I would like. I have ran a lecture on the basics of video editing as well as a lot of workshops on improvisational acting. I would absolutely love to teach in a far more personal and engaging environment.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very hands on in my approach and love to have discussions with a student. I think relating work to modern day examples is very important to understand the bigger picture of "Why am I learning this?". I actively encourage questions and always try my best to explain something as best as possible for each person tutor. I don't like to give homework, but (especially for tests) I would ask students to do a little work in their own time. Usually some kind of research on something up to date and relevant examples where the work we've done is applicable.

Personal Description:
Hello everyone! /Bonjour à tous !
My name is Sarah, I am an enthusiastic, patient and diplomatic young French native. I am willing to teach and help anyone with the beautiful French language.
What else about me? I am a music lover and enjoy going to gigs as much as I can, with a preference for the band Coldplay… I love long walks in nature (preferably with a cute dog by my side), and discovering new places.

I am currently unemployed and would relish the opportunity to gain experience in tutoring. I would love the opportunity to share my French skills with anyone needing help or willing to learn.

Teaching Experience:

I may not have the past of teaching but I firmly believe that my abilities are matching the role of Tutor. I am able to adapt to very different situations, and also well organised. Three years spent in the UK and translating articles from English to French for ColdplayCorner.com made me confident with the English language.
I proved my abilities with children by working temporarily in a primary school in France in 2012 and 2013. I was in charge of the supervision at lunch time and sometimes break time with kids from age 3 to 6.
I, later on in 2013, moved to London to learn English and the perks of the British culture. I was working as an Au-Pair/Nanny for 3 children (aged 7 to 12 when I started) in Camden from September 2013 to September 2016. I loved my job and being close to the children every day, the best positive experience of my life so far!

Tutoring Approach:

The idea of tutoring has held much fascination for me ever since I have a keen love for education and loved all my school years. I am convinced I have what it takes to develop and implement tutoring plans that best fit each individual student I could have. I could use my personal skills to always stay calm and positive with the students. I can work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds and can exhibit patience and judgement, especially where the need for both is dire.
For example, for anyone who wants to learn a bit of French, I would start with the basics and go more and more deeply in the language. I can make the lesson enjoyable by talking about one the favourite subject of the student. In my opinion, this is a good way of teaching and learning a language as it encourages interaction and communication. I can also do basic lessons and help students with their homework.
