Personal Description:
I enjoy working with children and can offer you enthusiasm for science and dedication to aiding children of all abilities. I am well informed about the science curriculum in secondary schools and know where to get further information about other curriculum subjects for different ages. I have already developed a range of resources from the schools that I have had experience with and have good communication, ICT, literacy and numeracy skills. Outside of my studies at university I was also a member of the canoe club and was responsible for leading groups of kayakers or canoeists on the river. I completed a Level one British Canoe Union (BCU) Coaching Award and Aquatic First Aid to enable me to full the requirements of this role adequately. Even after leaving university I still take an active role in coaching new members to the university's canoe club and helping out with trips. This role within the club requires a lot of responsibility, teamwork and trust.

Teaching Experience:

I have had some work experience in 4 secondary schools over the last 2 years as both an observer and in doing some training towards becoming a teacher. During my time within these schools I have developed my planning and organisational skills as well as developing some of my own teaching resources. As of September I shall be working as an LSA in the mornings within a Primary school to expand my school experience but would like to offer my afternoons up to tutoring.

Tutoring Approach:

My main approach to tutoring is to make the learning enjoyable and creative. This is done by initially establishing how the child pefers to learn and what teaching tatics and interests they respond to best to make the science easier for them to both understand and relate to.

Personal Description:
Despite my Italian surname (my married name), I am English and was born in Oxford. I am a lively and enthusiastic 59 year-old teacher, mother and grandmother. I have been teaching for over 25 years and I have always enjoyed meeting and working with students from all over the world. I teach part -time at the moment at a language school near Oxford, and I have some spare time at the weekends and/or in the week, during which I am happy to tutor students who need help with their English skills.
My other interests include seeing my family as often as possible, reading, cookery and running (at a competitive level, despite my age!). I also very much enjoy going to the theatre and cinema.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 25 years' experience teaching English as a foreign language to students at all levels (beginner to advanced), both in multi-national classes and on a one-to-one basis. This has involved preparing students for international examinations, including IELTS and the Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency.

I have also had a great deal of experience in proof-reading and correcting academic papers, assignments and theses for university staff and students at both the Oxford universities and universities in Europe and the rest of the world. In addition, my work has involved proof-reading and advising students on academic papers to be presented at international conferences.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to be always ready to listen to students' needs, to be flexible and open-minded and understanding of their individual problems and concerns regarding their studies. In any feedback on students' work, I am aware of the necessity to be positive and supportive.
I therefore encourage discussion and alternative possibilities, which I see as being more beneficial than using more traditional correction techniques that often only define what is considered 'right' or 'wrong'.
Every student has an individual approach to their studies, and it is my aim to give my students confidence in themselves and their ability to achieve their goal.

Personal Description:
I am a twenty five year old English Literature and Creative Writing Graduate from Liverpool Hope University. I am passionate about all academic studies, particularly English, and have achieved a high level in this subject in my own studies. I was awarded a Diploma of Excellence in English in my final year of studies at high school level, and was later presented at my University graduation with the 2008 Geoffrey Leyland Memorial Prize for Best Performance in Final Year English Literature. I would love to be able to use my abilities in this subject to help others develop and feel confident in their own skills, and I feel that I have the ability to do so. I am extremely keen to commence a career working with young people and am beginning a PGCE teaching course in 2010. In the meantime, I am doing home tutoring with several students. It is a job that I love doing and which I have a had a lot of success in so far. I am an extremely patient, friendly and easygoing girl, who is also very conscientious and hardworking. I relate really well to children of all ages and genuinely enjoy what I do.

Teaching Experience:

I currently tutor three primary school aged students, who I have been tutoring since September 2008. I also tutored three additional students through their SATS last year. On top of this I participated in the Paired Reading Scheme at Archbishop Blanch School when I was in sixth form, which involved me working closely with a young girl with special needs, helping her with her reading throughout the year. In addition to this, I have had lots of experience of working with young people because of my voluntary roles within my church as a Sunday School leader for a group of primary school aged children and as a regular group leader at the annual holiday club, which I have been doing for the last nine years. I also currently work on supply as a classroom assistant in various primary schools around Liverpool.

Tutoring Approach:

I am used to teaching in a variety of fun, creative and interesting ways and am extremely adaptable in my approach. I work hard to make learning as easy and fun as possible and have many learning games that I use throughout my lessons, as well as some great workbooks. I can easily adapt my teaching to the needs of each individual student and create a method that will most benefit them.

Personal Description:
I am currently studying German and Italian with European Studies at Bath University, and think that i have the patience and knowledge required to teach each of the given subjects to the level indicated. I am bright and have the ability to make learning fun. I have previously worked with children aged from 2 to 16, and find that i have a natural rapport with them.

Teaching Experience:

I have no official teaching experience, though i do have over a year's experience working with children as a contact supervisor, which has involved gaining their trust and confidence in order to work with them successfully.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that I would take time to get to know the individual pupil before deciding on my approach to tutoring, as i thoroughly believe that before any pupil can learn they must gain a mutual respect and understanding with the person that they are learning from. As a young person myself, i feel that i am well qualified to identify the needs and wants of children and teenagers from their tutor, and myself remember that I did not learn nearly so well from teachers that i did not like or respect.

However i would be inclined to start at a basic level and make sure that the student understood the fundamental elements of the subject before moving on to more difficult matter.

I have tutored many people for GCSE and A level exams. I have a relaxed approach but expect set homework to be done! I have a good sense of humour and am usually very popular with the people I tutor or teach.

Tutoring Approach:

In tutoring for examinations I use a topic based approach with most of the questions coming from past papers although initially a few are from textbooks. Personal Description:
I have extensive teaching and performing experience.
I am a professional jazz singer and a choral conductor, composer and musical director.
I have performed on 'Top of the Pops', and at top music venues such as The Royal Festival Hall and The Barbican. My music has been played on TV, radio, in theatrical and dance productions and at contemporary music festivals.

Teaching Experience:

My students have included celebrities such as Joss Stone and sports presenter Gabbi Logan and I have helped many students pass auditions for West End musicals and theatre schools.
I have taught for many London music services such as Lambeth, Hackney, & Haringey, and I was Head of Centre for the Centre for Young Musicians (Kensington & Chelsea) from 2006-2009.

Tutoring Approach:

I coach students from my home studio in Covent Garden, Central London, a 5 minute walk from either Covent Garden or Holborn tube stations.
I welcome students of every age and every level of experience. My methods are easy to follow and tried and tested over many years. Students often comment that that they learn more in an hour in a lesson with me, than they've learnt over months with other teachers!
In singing lessons I concentrate on improving students technique, breathing, vocal range and tone and accompany them from the piano, if preparing for auditions.
I also teach GCSe/A level music and coach students for Grade 5 theory exams and help with Aural training.
Songwriters benefit from my many years experience in the music industry as a singer-songwriter.
