I attained grade A in the subject Chinese (which deals with Mandarin) when finishing my senior high school in China. I am good at both formal and daily Mandarin. Additionally, I live in the most important city in the south of China, Guangzhou, where Cantonese is the local language, thus I can speak very well Cantonese. Types of Tutoring: Travels to you / From their home
| About Andrew: I am a 23 year old student, currently training to be a doctor at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. I have a passion for science and mathematics and endeavor to share this with my students. |
Teaching Experience: I have tutoring experience teaching GCSE and A level science and mathematics. As I am a student myself I am very aware of the pressures and difficulties of studying and revising for exam success. I am able to offer the skills, to my students, which I have used to achieve the highest grades at GCSE, A Level and degree level. |
Tutoring Approach: I believe that anyone has the ability to learn difficult material if it is presented to them in a way that best suits their learning style: You don't have to be a genius to learn rocket science, you just need a good teacher! I believe that it is the duty of the teacher to adapt their teaching methods to match their student and to make the material enjoyable and applicable. The major advantage of one-to-one teaching is that the teaching style can be matched to the student in a way that is not possible in the classroom. |

View Mohamed's Profile
Types of Tutoring: Travels to you / From their home / Online
| About Mohamed: I am Mohamed Nadifi, 27 of age Moroccan national. I am writing to you seeking a job opportunity in your institution. The position attracts me because of the skills I have gained during my Master’s course in Arabic/English translation at the University of Salford. Previously, I did a BA in English Linguistics at the University of Humanities Hassan II in Casablanca, Morocco. Your detailed job description convinced me that this position will allow me to utilise the knowledge and experience I have developed during my studies. |
Teaching Experience: - Having had the opportunity to study and work with languages, I believe that I, equally, have a strong command of Arabic and English enabling me to provide courses in both of them. Additionally, studying for my qualifications and my experience in teaching has ensured that I maintain not only a very high standard of written and spoken Arabic but the English language as well. - As an Arabic teacher, I have taught Arabic at a variety of levels, Beginners, intermediate, Advanced, using a variety of media including audio-visual, computer and dealing with a variety of social contexts e.g. individual, pair, and group. - I am a Self-motivated, good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and can work well under pressure. In my post as an Arabic teacher it was essential that I delivered, with other teachers, a number of courses on a specific period of time focusing on ameliorating the students’ Arabic language skills (speaking, reading, and writing). - I am proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and a regular Computer user, utilising this to develop my organisational and administrative skills. I am also willing to undertake any training that will develop my IT skills to further enhance my delivery of the course. - Strongly determined to achieve targets and to adapt to different academic levels within a multicultural classroom, I also enhance the students' self confidence by stimulating their interest and get them genuinely involved in the process of learning and I also help them far beyond the scope of class in order to freely express their views and opinions. - My ability to develop language materials for different subjects (social, political, cultural, economic, legal, business, and management topics) and teach short courses in a variety of contexts has been proven within my previous work experience teaching students in Morocco. I always make sure to vary the programmed courses and to help maximise student learning within a minimum period of time. - My previous teaching experience has ensured that I am able to produce educational and testing materials, specifically tailored to the level of specific groups. To ensure that the program is efficient, I depend on many sources such as the internet, books, libraries, and other educational references. - I am a native speaker of Arabic and originate from a country (Morocco) in which Arabic is the official language of the government. - I hold an in M.A. Arabic/English Translation from the University of Salford and hold a TEFL Certificate. Additionally, during my period of study, I feel that perfection of the Arabic language was a crucial part of all the academic qualifications I gained. - Order and organisation are, I feel, essential to the delivery of the course content and I make a conscious effort not only to impart information to my students, but also to motivate them beyond the boundaries of the classroom. - Having been a part-time lecturer in Translation Studies at the University of Ain Chock Casablanca, Morocco. I encouraged students to think theoretically as well as practically regarding the aspects of translation. - I wish to make a positive contribution to the college by utilising my past experiences in any way possible to benefit and enhance both the college’s reputation within the field of languages as well as enhancing student learning. - One of my previous roles involved Teaching American adult students (Green Corps association) the Standard Arabic language as well as the Moroccan dialect during their working period in Morocco. I am available for interview at your convenience and look forward to hearing from you soon. |

| About Mark: Born in Leicestershire, I was taught the rudiments of jazz, pop, blues, rock etc from the age of 11 by my Dad, Ivor Haynes and the late Sid Bent. Working as a drummer/percussionist professionally for well over 25 years and have taught drums from beginner to intermediate level for almost 15 years, I'm fully CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked and teach in schools across Leicestershire, charactor references available on request. My studio experience includes many demo's, albums, singles, musicals and movie soundtracks. More than 20 years touring experience in both large and small venues including The Marquee, The Cavern and the Carling Academy (Islington), also festivals including Guilfest, Hawkfest and Summer Sundae. In the last few years I've achieved chart success in several countries including the UK and America, most notably in Russia with ist where we were at number one, in two official download charts for eight weeks. Aside from being a full time band member in various bands I've been employed as a session musician, drum tech, rigger/crew member, tour/event manager and driver. I'm currently working on a recording project with ist in London at The Way Studio with producer Jay 'Burzootie' Burnett, I've also recently appeared on several FM and internet radio stations and live television (Red TV). |
Teaching Experience: 15+ years as a private tutor and 2+ years working schools. |
Tutoring Approach: I mostly teach on a one to one basis but also take on small groups of students, I approach teaching from a technique of grades perspective, tutoring in rudiments and theory, playing to tab, click and reading. All styles taught from rock to jazz via latin and reggae. |

Types of Tutoring: Travels to you / From their home / Online
| About Neil: I'm a 44 year old IT professional and family man with 4 children. I'm an approachable, friendly person with strong communication and interpersonal skills. I've worked most of my adult life in Local Government but have also worked in the private sector. |
Teaching Experience: I've been teaching IT skills to formal and informal groups and individuals for 15 years. Subjects taught range from basic introductions to using computers, to specific tuition relating to (for example) ECDL or academic qualifications such as Standard or Higher Grade. I also provide tuition tailored to a customer's specific needs (for example, web design). |
Tutoring Approach: My flexible and student-centric approach to teaching is based around providing practical tuition in a situation that's as comfortable and as stress free as possible, which usually means your own home. Tutorials are individually created to suit you, and can also be structured to match the National Curriculum. My teaching methods identify and build on your strengths, while highlighting areas for development and providing the guidance required. I will happily visit any potential student, at no charge, to discuss your individual requirements and develop a course structure. |

Types of Tutoring: Travels to you
| About Geoffrey: I am a confident person, reliable and honest. I like helping people and I really enjoy to see them improve their level. |
Teaching Experience: I have been a French tutor for the last six months via Keepschool. I have also been a tutor at university |
Tutoring Approach: First of all, find out the will and the difficulties of people. Then, teach them both writing and speaking French. Working regularly is the best way to maintain and improve any level. The best kind of lesson is based on several parts, speaking and writing ones. After a while, conversations are a very good and useful way to improve a good level. |
