I am a friendly and approachable musician, songwriter and singer. I have been involved in music for many years in solo, group and large ensemble capacties. Among many music courses I have attended, my training includes a Diploma in Popular Music Performance at the highly commended Tech Music School in London, and a Fist Class Honours degree in Music Technology with Popular Music Performance.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching since 2001, initially primary and secondary aged students. This was performance based tutoring at weekend classes including some one to one sessions. I have done this in both Norfolk and London. I have also taught many one to one singing lessons with all ages between 6 and 65. I have since taught classes at college and degree level in various aspects of music, including performance music business history and theory.

I like to tailor my tutoring to each individual student's needs rather than using set lesson plans. My teaching style is based around enjoying the learning experience and building confidence. I'm a 26 years old Hungarian saxophone player recently moved to London, and looking forward to teach music.

After successfully completing my bachelor in Jazz Saxophone at the Conservatoire of Trento (Italy), I moved to Milan where I have balanced studies and work for almost 2 years. Although I specialise in saxophone and jazz, I am able to teach the recorder, flute, and (classical) music theory.

I started learning music with the Kodaly method at the age of 5 and have been studying, playing and teaching music ever since. As a freelance and private saxophone and flute teacher, I always try to apply that same method when teaching my students.

I have a great experience of performing with various big bands and smaller groups, such as quartet and trio formation in Hungary and Italy as well.

I am a qualified and experienced teacher of Spanish. I have been teaching for 30 years in England and in the past 22 I have been working at a private school in Dorset and in Exeter. I teach Spanish to GCSE, A level and IB and my students have always achieved a very high level of Spanish and excellent results in their examinations. I consider myself to be efficient and reliable with a particular interest in and care for the individual pupil. My name is Gur, I'm a theatre and performance maker and a Hebrew tutor residing in London since July 2014.
I was born in Israel in 1986. I grew up in the outskirts of Tel- Aviv and lived in Tel-Aviv most of my adulthood. I attended the prestigious arts school Thelma Yellin followed by the Yoram Lowenstein acting Studio where I graduated in 2009. I completed a Master's degree in Performance at Goldsmiths University of London in 2016. I'm Kirsty, I love teaching as I believe my passion for my subject helps ignite curiosity in young people of where we see maths in everyday life and how it affects their lives. Spotting patterns and being able to problem solve in every job and career path comes from great mathematical analytic skills!

I love when students get the 'lightbulb' moment; the understanding kicks in and we get the solution to the problem we are working on. Endorphins rushing when we feel a sense of achievement. I want to help break the barriers of 'I'm not good at maths' and change mindsets to 'I'm not good at maths, yet'. Optimism and a positive mindset can really change outcomes, both with maths questions and life in general.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teacher for the past 10 years in a secondary school in Billingham. I have taught throughout key stage 3 and 4, from year 7 through to year 11. I have designed schemes of learning and the resources to go along with that to enable students to have interactive but thoughtful, ordered maths lessons with key concepts covered and checking for understanding throughout.

Recently I completed the National Professional Qualification in Leading Teacher Development (NPQLTD) which has enabled me to break down components of learning - for people of all ages and abilities - and ensure the best progress is made through the correct understanding and structuring of learning modules.

Since 2018 I have worked for exam boards Edexcel and OCR marking a mixture of higher and foundation papers, so I have a good understanding of how examiners apply the mark scheme and the experience to teach tips and techniques to ensure exam success. Not that exams are everything, but they are a necessity to further your academic career, so understanding how to do them well is key to showcasing your knowledge!

I have tutored privately 1:1 for the past 7 years, working with a mixture of ks3 students, as well as ks4 in examination prep at both higher and foundation level. Everyone I worked with got the required confidence or grade that they needed to move onto the next stage of their learning journey - excellent!

Tutoring Approach:
I love a mixture of tasks to break up the monotony of 'a worksheet of questions' which might be some peoples' experience of maths lessons. Maths is not boring; I want to share my love of it with people!

I like interactivity - be it using mini whiteboards, card sorts, tarsias etc. - as well as ensuring key concepts are covered with GCSE style questions so our skills match up and link to what examiners might ask.

Using physical manipulatives to introduce concepts which leads to understanding at an abstract level helps solidify knowledge and fluency of skill.
