| About Lian: I am a twenty three years old and I live in Nottingham. I was originally born in China, but moved to England when I was six years old, and so grew up here. This has resulted in my having a very precise English accent with no regional or overseas accent. I can also speak Mandarin like a native, as my parents have spoken Chinese to me at home, and kept my Mandarin up. I have perfect Beijing pronunciation in Mandarin, with no regional or western accent. I am currently studying part time, in Nottingham University, and working. Tutoring Approach: I offer just one hour introductory session initially to get to know the student and parent/guardian. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions about me, for me to provide you with my references and qualification details and for me to take the student through a few guide questions to recognise the level at which they are. I can then judge, according to your expectations, how many lessons and what duration per week/fortnight the student will require to reach that expectation. Eg. from General level to Credit level at Standard grade. Once completed you can then have a think over the lesson and engage in a conversation with your child if they feel confident enough to have me as their tutor and mentor. Once this is settled we can go ahead with further tuition. |
