Personal Description:
I'm friendly, experienced and passionate with 17 years of experience working in primary schools. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching children in both Singapore and England.
In Singapore, I taught Maths within the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum giving me valuable experience in developing children's understanding, problem-solving skills and ability to think mathematically. I am currently working in England, where I continue to support children in their learning and development.
Teaching Experience:
I currently working in a school. I do provide face-to-face tuition for SATs and 11+ preparation for children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 specialising in Primary Maths.
With my experience working in a school alongside private tutoring, I have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and the skills children need to progress confidently through Key Stage 2. Every child learns differently, I adapt my lessons to suit their ability, learning style and individual goals. I use clear explanations, worked examples, questioning and plenty of guided practice to make difficult topics easier to understand. I also encourage children to explain their thinking rather than just getting to an answer. My approach and aim to make every lesson both productive and enjoyable.
Tutoring Approach:
I hold a Master of Science in Education from Walden University, Minnesota, USA, and I bring a wealth of classroom experience to every tutoring session.
