Personal Description:

I have worked in Media and Film education since 1998. As well as teaching and lecturing, consulting and private tutoring I develop and market teaching and learning resources. I have worked with 11-19 year olds, adult learners, undergraduate and MA students and also delivered CPD to teachers; adapting my pedagogy accordingly. I was writer and editor for Media and Film online educational resources Edusites Ltd. and am an accredited Into Film Practitioner. I managed a large Film and Media Studies department (Ofsted Outstanding) as Curriculum Manager from 2000 to 2011 before becoming a freelance Media and Film Consultant. Since then I have worked as an online/onsite consultant in schools and colleges, as a consultant to the BFI running study days and as a Tutor, Examiner and Moderator.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is results led, while also making sessions dynamic and interactive. Each tutee is treated as an individual with teaching and learner styles understood, and adapted accordingly. I am determined and focused and insist on an engaged, hard working environment with follow up work and resources supporting every learner. I can offer year on year testimonials from parents whose sons/daughters I have worked with. My enhanced DBS is June 2026.
