Personal Description:

Not your typical Mathematics teacher, I often get told I don't look like a Math's teacher. I specialize in struggling students with additional needs, helping them achieve a grade 4 or students who have not achieved a grade 4 and are keen to complete an early re-sit.

I am a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Specialist Teacher with over 10 years of experience working across Alternative Provision, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), the Medical Education Service (MES), and home tuition throughout Trafford. I am committed to ensuring that every young person receives a high-quality education, regardless of their personal circumstances, medical needs, or barriers to learning.

Throughout my career, I have supported pupils with a diverse range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), anxiety-related school avoidance, trauma-informed behaviors, and a range of physical and medical conditions.

I pride myself on building positive relationships with students, families, schools, and external agencies, creating learning environments where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to achieve. Teaching Experience:

Over the past decade, I have taught Mathematics across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4, delivering GCSE Foundation and Higher Mathematics, Functional Skills Mathematics, intervention, and personalized learning pathways. My experience spans Alternative Provision, PRUs, the Medical Education Service, and one-to-one home tuition, providing me with a broad understanding of how to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learner needs.

Revisiting identified gaps through targeted intervention and spaced retrieval.

My lessons are carefully adapted to meet the needs of every learner, incorporating scaffolding, modelling, concrete and visual representations, and differentiated resources where appropriate. I create calm, inclusive learning environments that encourage students to take risks, develop independence, and achieve success.

By combining high expectations with personalized support and evidence-informed teaching strategies, I aim to remove barriers to learning, foster a positive attitude towards mathematics, and equip students with the skills and confidence needed for further education, employment, and everyday life.
