Personal Description:
Hi, I am Maryam, I am a current medicine student looking to tutor in Biology and Chemistry GCSE. I achieved A grade 9 in both and A's in A level.
I specialise in breaking down hard to understand concepts into smaller easy to grasp ideas, which helps to develop an understanding of biology and chemistry, rather than memorising content.
Teaching Experience:
I helped teach younger years (10/11) throughout my A levels and have over a year of informal tutoring experience, through weekly sessions. I planned lessons, tracked progress, and focused on exam practice. This experience taught me how to adapt my teaching style, stay patient, and address individual weaknesses effectively.
Tutoring Approach:
I use regular quizzing, exam-style questions, and discussion to reinforce understanding and build confidence. I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students understand what examiners are looking for and how to structure high-scoring answers.
