Personal Description:

I am a London based multi-skilled, holistic and highly experienced professional with training and experience spanning both educational and clinical settings. I hold a degree in Psychology (York) and a masters in Speech and Language Therapy (London). I thus bring a unique blend of extensive clinical, tutoring, curriculum design, teaching and pedagogical experience. My professional life has been characterised by continually striving to facilitate, support, uplift and inspire others using informed practise and approaches. I am especially motivated by working in partnership with those with additional learning needs or barriers. I would be honoured to bring my background and skills to new clients

Teaching Experience:

- Over 400 hours as private piano tutor
- Learning facilitator at Kumon maths (4 years)
- 18 years as a Speech and Language Therapists, working with adults with brain injury and other neurological conditions; plus occasional work with children with autism and other childhood communication needs.
- 10 years supervising/mentoring junior Speech and Language therapists in NHS in London
- 8 years providing clinical teaching, tutoring and supervision for healthcare professionals abroad
- Developed new curriculum (including all content and assessments) for 1 year part time course in specialist area of Speech and Language Therapy (in partnership with an international University)
- Oversee implementation of above course delivery, including overall student performance management, recruitment and supervision of other teachers, yearly curriculum review and maintenance of relevant key relationships (such as participating health providers).

Tutoring Approach:

I am a personable, open, encouraging and highly facilitative tutor, using flexible approaches based on client needs. I use a mixture of didactic teaching, creative co-learning, coaching, multi-sensory/modal methods, plus development of self-esteem, self-study and self-reflective skills. I strive to keep myself updated with new knowledge and evidence, so that I can deliver the best to my clients.
