Holly - Wolverhampton tutor
Information About Holly:
Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Holly, a 19-year-old medical student with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students build confidence in their learning. I achieved an A* in A-Level Biology and an A in A-Level Chemistry, and I offer tutoring in Biology, Chemistry, Spanish up to GCSE level, English as a Foreign Language, SATs English and Maths, and Maths up to GCSE level.
As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills at their own pace. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit individual needs and learning styles.
Teaching Experience:
I have experience teaching students virtually across a range of subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, Spanish, English as a Foreign Language, SATs English and Maths, and GCSE Maths. Through online tutoring, I have supported students with understanding difficult topics, improving exam technique, and building confidence in areas they have previously found challenging.
My experience has helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently. I am used to adapting lessons for different ages, abilities, and goals, and I always aim to make sessions productive, engaging, and focused on the student's progress.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is flexible and student-centred. I offer a free initial session to get to know the student, identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and establish clear aims and goals for our lessons.
After that, lessons can be structured in different ways depending on what works best for the student. This may include more teaching-based lessons, question walkthrough sessions, or a mixture of both. I am very adaptable and always tailor my approach to suit each individual's needs.
I can also provide and mark assignments and tests where helpful, as I believe regular practice is one of the best ways to reinforce learning and track progress. While this is always based on what the student finds most useful, I would highly recommend completing some assignments, as they can make a real difference to progress during lessons.
