Abdirahim - Forest Hill tutor
Information About Abdirahim:
Personal Description:
I'm a fully qualified Maths teacher with QTS and a degree in Electronics Engineering. My background in engineering has given me a strong analytical mindset and a deep appreciation for how maths is applied in the real world - something I bring into my teaching every day.
I've worked with students across different levels, helping them to not only improve their grades but also develop genuine confidence and curiosity in the subject. My approach is calm, supportive, and structured - I focus on building understanding step by step, so students grasp the underlying concepts rather than just memorising methods.
I enjoy showing students how maths connects to real-life applications, which often makes lessons more engaging and meaningful. Whether it's exam preparation or strengthening core skills, my goal is always to help each student reach their full potential and feel proud of their progress.
Teaching Experience:
II have seven years of experience teaching mathematics across a range of school settings. During this time, I've worked in schools with challenging behavioural contexts as well as those with high-achieving students. This variety has strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching style to meet the diverse needs of learners.
In more demanding environments, I've developed strong classroom management skills and strategies to engage students who may lack confidence or motivation in maths. In contrast, teaching in high-ability schools has allowed me to extend students' thinking, foster deeper problem-solving skills, and encourage mathematical curiosity.
Across all settings, my focus has remained the same - to create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment where every student can make progress and feel successful in mathematics.
