Personal Description:

Hi! I'm Halima, a passionate and approachable tutor based in Leeds, currently offering online one-to-one tutoring for students from Year 6 (SATs) up to A-Level. I've just completed my A-Levels and I'm predicted 3 A*s in Maths, Physics and Economics. I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths (which I completed early in Year 10) and have always loved helping others understand difficult topics.

I know exactly what it's like to be a student in this system - from the pressure of exams to the feeling of not knowing where to start. That's why I'm so focused on creating a space where students feel comfortable, encouraged and genuinely supported in their learning. Whether it's building strong foundations or refining exam technique, I tailor every session to what each student needs.

Teaching Experience:

My tutoring journey began by supporting younger students in my school with revision techniques, difficult subjects and essay planning. Since then, I've gone on to create detailed revision resources, model past paper solutions and even structured predicted paper walkthroughs for subjects like Maths and Physics.

I also sat a Cambridge interview and received offers from Durham, Leeds and Manchester, so I'm familiar with high-level academic preparation and can support students with personal statements or university prep where needed.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every student is capable of doing well - they just need the right guidance, clear explanations and someone who really listens to how they learn best. My lessons are interactive, patient and paced around the individual. I use a mix of worked examples, questions, real-life application and active recall to help students understand not just the what, but the why.

Because I've just been through the exact same curriculum, I can explain tricky ideas in a way that actually makes sense. I also love showing students how small wins and solid strategies can add up to big results over time. My goal is to not only improve grades, but also boost self-belief and motivation.
