Personal Description:
I'm an experienced maths tutor studying Mathematics at the University of Bath. I am passionate about maths and I'm looking to help students understand and appreciate the topic. I want to provide engaging and interactive sessions, encouraging my students to ask questions and motivate them to keep working hard. If you're looking for personalised and enriching tutoring, I'd love to help!
I achieved A* in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-Level, as well as achieving multiple gold awards in UKMT's maths challenges. My lessons are for primary and secondary school students and my aim is to help provide a solid foundation, and prepare for exams, including the GCSE exams.
Teaching Experience:
I have tutored a range of students at GCSE and A-Level for over a year, who made notable academic progress. I've also helped them to be more assured in their mathematical abilities, and believe in their own mathematical abilities. Most of my sessions were face to face, however I also have experience doing online tutoring.
Tutoring Approach:
My tailored sessions target students' individual needs and generally consist of enhancing student understanding by simplifying concepts and then developing student confidence through lots of practice questions. Typical lessons last one hour, but this can be adjusted for different needs. I generally allow to student to begin practice questions by themselves, so that I can identify gaps or misunderstandings. If I spot any issues, I will explain these misunderstandings and we then reinforce the students' understanding through a lot more practice! My sessions are very interactive and I encourage my students to work as hard as possible.
