Personal Description:

I am an enthusiastic and positive individual, who is able to find the good in most situations and others. I am a kind and empathetic teacher and person who is willing to go the extra mile for pupils. This I believe enables me to have a respectful relationship with young people, permitting me to be an approachable person.

Teaching Experience:

I have been as Second Language Welsh teacher for 6 years and have taught from ages 11-16. I have taught 4 classes of exam classes in years 10 and 11 per year and have had the experience of completing speaking exams with these classes and also preparing them for their reading and writing exams. I have also had a years experience as acting head of department, whilst I was in this role I had the opportunity to attend WJEC subject specific courses in order to develop my teaching and learning abilities. I have taught children of all abilities and I am able to differentiate resources to suit the childs needs.

Tutoring Approach:

It is important to myself that pupils feel safe and comfortable in a fun and happy environment where learning is both educational as well as enjoyable. I pride myself on my ability to build these strong pupil-teacher relationships and believe this is a key factor in successful teaching and learning. I thrive in finding new and innovative ways of teaching from the use of digital competence, ways of incorporating numeracy and literacy into my lesson plans as well as creativity within lessons. I endeavour to deliver rich and engaging lessons where children are challenged and inspired. I am open minded and willing to accept new challenges to further develop my teaching ability.
