Since my retirement I have continued to keep in contact with 'Education', I have conducted several consultancy sessions in a number of schools within Wales, regarding the delivery and structure of; Constructing the Built Environment and Engineering Design.
I have also worked closely with principal seniors within the Welsh Joint Education Committee over the years as Examiner/ Moderator.and script revisor.
During my time in mainstream education, I was a part of numerous working parties, I have written many Schemes of Work, Lesson Plans, Departmental Development Plans and contributed to a number of departmental initiatives.
During the time I have been with the WJEC, and as a gesture of good will to a number of my colleagues, I presented to at least three schools in RCT and provided general support regarding the structure and content of the Level 1/2 Engineering. Together with clarifying any of their concerns and queries, networking with staff to create a clear process in the delivery of the course content and its assessment process. I am pleased to announce that after my support they are now delivering the WJEC Level 1/2 Engineering Course Technical Specification
Moderator.
Tutoring Approach:
I am a grandfather of two teenagers and fully aware of the pressures and stresses placed upon learners and parents. I am understanding and sympathetic to both parties needs.
My key aim is to help learners to achieve their full potential, via a friendly and supportive way.
I have recently completed two years as a consultant, in the construction department of Hawthorn High School Pontypridd, delivering The Built Environment Level 1/2 WJEC
During my last spell of work for the Welsh Joint Education Committee, I worked as an Examiner, Moderator, Writer, Quality Assurer and Reviewer.
I am registered with Valley Educational Services [VES], during the time I have worked for them as consultant teacher of Construction in the Built Environment and throughout RCT as a supervisory supply teacher principally in DT & Engineering Departments.
Currently I am working as supply teacher at Treorchy CS, delivering DT KS 3 & 4 together with the WJEC Engineering 1 / 2 - Technical Specification.
Although my recent years have been chiefly in Construction however; when I became involved in delivering aspects of WJEC Engineering Technical Levels 1 / 2, and became familiar with the new specification, I strongly felt that with, my industrial and teaching experience I would fulfil your required criteria.
King regards,
Gwyn
