Personal Description:
I am an English and Modern Foreign Languages teacher from County Durham, UK.
I have been working as a foreign languages teacher for over 13 years in schools in England. During this time my teaching was graded 'Outstanding' by OFSTED (UK government state education authority)and I have helped many students of all abilities achieve their language goals whilst making language learning fun, rewarding and memorable.
I am a native speaker of English and speak slowly, with a neutral British accent. I speak French, German and Spanish so I know the challenges learners can face when learning a foreign language.
My education:

🎓120 hour certification in TESOL with Trinity School London, 2009
🎓Post Graduate Certificate in Education PGCE, University of Cumbria, UK, 2010
I am interested in different languages and cultures. I have lived in Germany, France, Mallorca and Spain.
Teaching Experience:
Experienced secondary-trained teacher of German, Spanish, French and ESOL with an excellent track record in primary and secondary education. Possesses strong grasp of pedagogy, with the aim to develop students' spontaneous target language production in MFL from KS1 to KS4. Has been graded "Outstanding" in MFL teaching (2013-2017) by Ofsted. Thirteen years in MFL teaching with over six years in secondary schools and five years in middle/ primary school. Experience of teaching GCSE and A-Level (German, French, Spanish) as well as experience of KS1-3 MFL and KS2 and KS3 Humanities.
Tutoring Approach:
I use the Target Language as the method of instruction and the Direct Method so as to aid student's language acquisition and develop spontaneous speaking ability. My lessons are personalised and tailored to student's interests and ability. I can help every student achieve their language goals. I can offer my students an experienced, friendly and professional teacher. I use many hand signs, actions, songs, pictures, props and games to strengthen learning and make learning enjoyable.
