Information About Aaron:
Personal Description:
I'm a 26 year old with a First Class Masters degree in Spacecraft Engineering from Southampton University. My engineering background influences my teaching style, and I love to use real life examples to keep lessons interesting for students.
Teaching Experience:
I have over 9 years of teaching experience which began at the Connie Rothman Learning Trust. I mainly taught disadvantaged children between the ages of 5 - 17. I learned a lot from other experienced tutors, especially the importance of patience and sincere commendation. Over last 4 years, I have taught privately, both online and in person. The vast majority of my students saw their expected grades increase, and went on to meet or exceed their academic goals, which I always love to see.
Tutoring Approach:
If fundamental topics are well understood, then progress becomes much faster. Hence, I ensure the basics are mastered before moving to more advanced topics. Also, commending effort rather than achievement motivates a student much more effectively. Finally, I always recommend that my students complete a small amount of work between lessons to consolidate what they learnt. Time and again this approach has proven successful come results day.
I send a monthly progress report (or more frequent if desired) to ensure there is regular communication between me and the parent. If a student has any particular needs or academic goals, then I will work with you to ensure they are met.
I teach online and in person. My online setup is quite simple (Zoom for video conferencing and bit paper to do work together). I also have books that i use for lessons, which i can send you the links to.
