Information About Molly:

Personal Description:

In addition to being a mother of 2 and a small Airbnb business owner, I am a Doctor in Philosophy, with 3 years experience of running courses at Undergraduate level. All my courses were rates as excellent by students and the University.

Since having children, I have worked as a teacher of students at 6th form level. I work to help children identify and overcome their learning and motivational challenges across the full spectrum of subjects including psychology, sociology, English, History, Drama, Maths and sciences. I also work with students to help them to form long term career goals, and I provide comprehensive support with the process of writing UCAS applications.

I have experience of working with students on the SEN register, and specialise in helping students with Dyslexia, ADHD and Autism to thrive in a school system that often doesn't optimally cater for their needs and unique abilities.

Teaching Experience:

I have 3 years experience of lecturing at the University of Reading. This included full responsibility for creating and running a range of undergraduate courses from 1st to 3rd year, including Critical Thinking, Further logic, The Philosophy of Religion and Free will.

I have worked as a tutor for the past 3 years part time, and as a teacher of 6th form children at Langley Park School for Girls, for 1.5 years.

I can teach across a broad spectrum of subjects up to A level standard, and have extensive experience of helping primary students with 11+ examinations. I also offer tuition to prepare students for interviews in private schools or universities.

Tutoring Approach:

I work collaboratively with students, helping them to form long term goals that will motivate them to put in the short term work required to achieve the results that will enable the fruition of their future ambitions.

I am familiar with a broad spectrum of learning barriers, including ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and anxiety among others. I have in depth knowledge of how to help children overcome these issues.

I focus on encouraging children and take a positive and supportive approach. My strong belief is that motivation to succeed comes in part from self-belief - the feeling that success is a genuine possibility. for children to believe this about themselves, they need positive encouragement from the adults around them, and this is what I strive to provide.
