Personal Description:
I am a native German speaker from Frankfurt now living in Scotland. I have taught and tutored German for over six years across six different countries. I am a friendly individual with a positive and encouraging attitude. I live in North Lanarkshire with my husband and my one-year-old child.
Teaching Experience:
I have tutored German as a second language to hundreds of students across six different countries. In recent years, I have also tutored private students who are studying German in high school and university. I am a grammar expert and pride myself on having a high success rate of my students getting a good grasp of the often confusing German grammar rules and exceptions. I have the experience to help students develop examination skills including listening, reading and writing.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a positive and friendly manner about myself. I like to encourage students and affirm their good efforts whilst remaining pragmatic and objective in my teaching goals. I have a talent with being able to simplify confusing rules or concepts in language and make them approachable and understandable to students who struggle with complex language skills. I can be very prescriptive in my teaching or I can be very flexible and student-led depending on the needs and abilities of the student.
