Personal Description:

My name is Nic and I have varied experience working in education and with animals.

I have a passion for teaching utilising my knowledge and experience. I have more than 25 years' experience working in animal welfare and conservation and have worked in a range of countries and cultures including UK, China, Vietnam, Uganda, Borneo, Ethiopia, Kenya and Jordan.



Teaching Experience:

I have an MSc in Wildlife Biology and Conservation; Level 3 in Education and Training and I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I have worked as an NVQ Assessor and currently work as an undergraduate lecturer teaching animal behaviour, law and ethics, study skills, animal welfare among others with students studying a BSc Applied Animal Studies and BSc Zoology. I am also an external verifier for another college, and I am DBS checked.



Tutoring Approach:

I can cater for students at all levels in biology, combined studies, animal related studies, English and study skills. I can cater for all levels of competence. My lessons are tailored to individual student needs, promoting engagement and structured to develop knowledge and understanding.
