Personal Description:

Ciao! I'm an academic who is passionate about teaching and loves helping students succeed in their goals. Italian is my native language but I'm highly fluent in English. I've been living in the UK for over 5 years, where I received my master's degree from Durham University and my PhD from the University of Birmingham. I've held positions at Yale and Oxford, where I currently reside. Learning a new language can be a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be. No matter what level you're at, whether you want to learn Italian to go on holiday, for work or study, I'm here to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. As a side hustle, I offer affordable rates on translation from English into Italian and vice versa; I also provide editing and proofreading services in a timely and professional manner.

Teaching Experience:

I've been giving Italian lessons/tutoring online for over 2 years now and it's been extremely rewarding to watch my students progress and grow more confident each week. I have experience teaching at all levels, from children to adults, from absolute beginner to mastery levels (A1-C2).

Tutoring Approach:

Students work at different paces, and I want each student to get the most out of our time. This is why I follow a learner-centred approach to teaching, which is tailored to individual students based on their interests and learning styles. I always try to mix textbook with materials from everyday life to make abstract concepts more concrete. But appropriate methods will vary depending on what needs covering (e.g., conversation, grammar, exam prep).
