Personal Description:

My name is Luminita and I am a Science teacher at a successful private school in Colchester. I am also a Head of Year, in charge of a pastoral team looking after the well-being of the students in our year group.

I am a passionate teacher, with extensive teaching experience in the UK as well as abroad. My teaching experience encompasses: GCSE Biology, Physics and Chemistry, Study Skills and English as an Additional Language. I speak two languages (English and Romanian) and could also offer teaching Science in Romanian, or teaching Romanian to English students who would like to travel to Romania.

I am very passionate about Science and Maths, which go together needless to say. I have a great deal of experience working with young adults. During my career, I have taught different types of students, including some with English as an Additional Language, students doing BTEC in Health and Social Care, and students with high ambitions as well as low motivated students. I am also a parent, and I have done 11+ Maths tutoring with my daughter and a group of her friends.

As a tutor I can enable academic achievement through a tailored approach to every young person's needs. I have 16 years experience at teaching GCSE Science, and during this time I have also taught Study Skills and English as an Additional Language.

I enjoy helping students achieve their potential by focusing on understanding the subjects, applying the newly found knowledge to a variety of situations, working on exam technique and finding a suitable revision method. I can offer tutorials in GSCE Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Study Skills, Romanian language, Science in Romanian, and Maths for 11+.

I can work online, or face to face, one to one or in small groups, in my home or in a neutral space, or I can travel to your place.

Available after 6 pm in weekdays and between 9 and 12 am on Saturdays.
