Madalina - Loughborough tutor
Information About Madalina:
Personal Description:
Ever since I was a small child I always enjoyed academia, reading and the process of learning. As I grew older I started to explore different subjects and found a passion for Life Sciences, especially Biology. At the same time i dedicate my free time to spiritual growth and maintaining a healthy mind and body - I think life should be all about personal development and becoming a better version of one self.
I have lived in England for the past 10 years when i arrived here to pursue my degree. Apart from my native language I am also fluent in Spanish.
I am a sociable, adventurous and spontaneous person who seeks to obtain the most from what life as to offer. I enjoy hiking, solo travelling, musical theatre and anything that enriches my life.
Teaching Experience:
I graduated with a Hons First Class degree in Biomedical Science from Coventry University in 2012. For the next few years I worked as a laboratory technician at Birmingham University and University of Leicester. In this role i got the opportunity to mentor young master students and undergraduates and hence discovered a passion for working with young people and teaching.
I completed my PGCE year in 2021, graduating from Derby University and having completed my training in 2 Leicestershire schools. Due to COVID, part of my training was completed online delivering lessons on Teams to KS3 and KS4 students. Simultaneously, I volunteered as a tutor with Action Tutoring offering support with Maths to KS3 students.
Since 2021 I have been working at Long Field Academy as a full time Science teacher.
My working experience is of AQA.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching experience so far has demonstrated me that there is a personal approach to learning and teaching. As a tutor I like to get to know my students and explore different methods of instruction. Students obtain better results when intrinsically motivated and so I ask tutees to set goals for themselves and then review where we are from meeting them.
With lessons I make use of established resources, exam practice questions and AQA specifications.
On a more personal level, I have a relaxed and fun but focused and organised approach to teaching. I enjoy building relationships with my students as i strongly believe this impacts the outcome of our work together and ultimately their results.
