Information About Kitty:

Personal Description:

I enjoy playing the violin and piano, and singing, and I have two cats. I spend a lot of time in the outdoors, walking and swimming.

Teaching Experience:

I've had almost 40 years' experience of teaching, of which several years were spent as a university lecturer when I was team leader for Language and Literacy at Plymouth University. I have taught a range of A level students several exam boards' Psychology A level courses. I support university students with academic writing skills for assignments, incuding dissertations and theses. My most recent work over the past 12 years has been in supporting postgraduate medical specialty doctors with their professional exams in General Practice, Anaesthesia, Psychiatry, Radiology, Surgery, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology and Pathology. I have extensive exerience of supporting individuals with English for academic and professional purposes.

I help with exam nerves and with the rehearsal techniques for viva and OSCE exams, and I coach musicians for auditions and performances.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide bespoke packages for each individual, depending upon their learning styles and preferences and their own particular requirments, including those with dyslexia and ADHD.

For exams I will go through questions and identify where the individual can increase their score, looking at what is required by the examiner and advising on strategies for improving the outcomes.
