Personal Description:

I'm a medical student at UCL, London with 2 years GCSE/A-level tutoring and 4 years Kumon teaching experience. At A-level I achieved all A* and 4 medicine offers, and would love to guide and support my pupils to reach their academic goals via 1-on-1 tuition.
I specialise in:
- Edexcel Mathematics (having attained 100% at GCSE and A-level)
- OCR Sciences
- Reviewing medicine personal statements.

Teaching Experience:

- GCSE/A-level Mathematics tutoring (2 years). Using interactive online tools, I assisted students with Edexcel exam practice.
- Chemistry and Biology mentor for GCSE students at my local school. This involved working through topics and exam questions students struggled with, clarifying their doubts and improving exam technique.
- Kumon Maths and English tutoring (4 years).
- First Aid Club teacher on behalf of St John Ambulance.

Tutoring Approach:

- Sessions will run from 1-1.5 hours, depending upon the student's preference and the level of the subject taught.

- In my experience having a strong understanding is very important, especially when application of knowledge is needed for today's challenging exams.
- Lesson content will differ from student to student - focusing on topics pupils struggle with or working through the curriculum.
- Lessons usually start with a short introductory 'starter' activity to make students more comfortable and familiar with the basics.
- I will cover theory first and always reinforce understanding with exam questions and answers. I will emphasise 'high-yield' information: things that are likely to come up!
- Summary notes at the end of each session will be provided.
