Personal Description:
I have always had a strong interest in maths and sciences from an early age and I knew they were subjects I wanted to pursue. As someone who naturally enjoys teaching and helping others, I saw tutoring as a way to gain some real-world experience and responsibility for my own self-development whilst improving the futures of others.
Over the past year and a half I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of helping students reach their academic goals and learning the ins and outs of teaching, giving me confidence in the service which I provide. Doing this alongside my university degree has also given me vital organisational skills.
I hope to continue improving my service and accepting new students over the summer and coming academic year.
Teaching Experience:
Close to 2 years of online tutoring experience with children of all ages and abilities.
Taught over 10 students in this time.
Plenty of experience using MS Teams, Zoom etc. with screen sharing and interactive capabilities.
Experience in teaching primary, secondary, GCSE and A Level students.
Experience in confidence-building and struggling students.
Experience with strict grammar school requirements, helping students achieve grades 8/9 to continue into A Level.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching style is tailored to each student and focusses on developing confidence and motivation while improving exam technique and developing the student's knowledge in the subject. This is done by gauging the student's current ability and gradually introducing new ideas and methods that they can learn to use confidently.
