Amiya - Nottingham tutor
Information About Amiya:
Personal Description:
Hi, I'm a PhD student at the University of Nottingham, where I'm conducting research in aerospace materials. Previously, I finished my masters in Aerospace Engineering from the George Washington University, US and my bachelors in Aerospace Engineering from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
I'm a STEM enthusiast through and through, who loves to work with people with similar passions. Having finished my bachelors in the UK and my masters in the US, has exposed me to different styles of education which has helped develop my teaching style.
Teaching Experience:
I have formally taught as a teacher in an Edexcel certified school for four years. My primary subject was middle school science and I also assisted with O-level computer science. Asides from that, I also led the school Coding Club.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that linking fundamental theory with it's potential applications in real life, allows people to better understand and apply the material. I have always used real life examples when explaining concepts to my students and have found that to be an effective method, not just in science but also advanced maths. That said, I have also encountered a variety of students in my teaching career and have developed a flexible approach, especially when teaching someone individually.
