Kathryn - Whitley Bay tutor

Information About Kathryn:

Personal Description:

I am a friendly and outgoing person and I get on incredibly well with young people! I have two young children myself and I currently work part time in a school in Newcastle. I live at the coast and enjoy spending my time outdoors, as well as reading and swimming. I like to tutor as it fits in well with my childcare arrangements and I enjoy working with students on a one-to-one basis.

Teaching Experience:

I have been a teacher for nearly 20 years, working in secondary and primary settings. I have extensive experience at GCSE and A Level and have taught several different exam boards syllabuses.

In addition to this, I am a senior team leader for a large examination body and a moderator for A level Literature.

I specialise in both Literature and Language and have some experience at KS2 and the preparation for SATs exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I am friendly, patient and reliable. I like to build a rapport with pupils and respond to their needs and abilities with careful tracking of their strengths and weaknesses.
I have been tutoring for 10 years and have an excellent track record; helping many pupils to reach their potential. I spend time at the start of each session focusing and building on previous learning to help students make progress with a particular skill or content coverage.
I consider myself to be highly organised and focused on helping others. I spend time preparing individually tailored resources prior to the lesson, which is reflected in my fee.
