Sana - Forest Gate tutor

Information About Sana:

Personal Description:

After graduating from Queen Mary University with a degree in Mathematics with Finance and Accounting, I realised throughout my studies I have gained the relevant skills needed to pass down my knowledge to other students. My degree has helped me understand the main principles in mathematics that begin to arise in GCSE and A level maths. Because of this I am confident at helping my students understand the concepts and skills needed to solve mathematical problems. I have acquired tips and tricks throughout the years to simplify certain problems and make learning maths that little bit easier.

Teaching Experience:

As a first time tutor, I feel I have the right attitude and attributes to help others overcome their struggles in Maths. As someone who has been tutored in the past, I have seen first hand the patience and enthusiasm tutors have when teaching. I believe I can deliver my teaching in the same manner and know exactly how the student feels.
As a child I used to attend Kumon which is an education provider, offering individualised Maths and English programmes to help any child of any ability to progress and reach their potential. Years later, I ended up working there as an instructor and helped students with their work.
I have also given one-to-one lessons to a younger student whilst I was studying for my A levels. I was assigned as a mentor to support her throughout her Maths learning.

Tutoring Approach:

I intend to go through any topics (Edexcel specification only) that the student needs help with and provide them with thorough explanations and solutions to guide them towards answering any type of question. After this, I will provide them with challenging questions to put their understanding to the test and note down any areas of weakness so that we can work on them and turn them into strengths. Throughout my sessions I will ensure the students understanding is on track with mine and regularly allow them to ask any questions they wish to ask - no question is a silly question, I've been there, and the more questions asked the better for both the student and myself. I will tailor my sessions for each student as every student is unique and has different learning abilities, with the end goal of achieving an A grade or above. I'm also available 24/7 to answer any questions so the student feels like they can always rely on me to offer them support when needed, and therefore I will try my upmost best to reply promptly
