Personal Description:
I am a 24 year old female who has been a teacher for 3 years. I am extremely enthusiastic about science and teaching and thrive from students understanding but also loving science. I spent a year in South Africa and a month in Tobago studying the animals and plants there, adding anecdotes and experience to my teaching of Biology. I came from a normal comprehensive school and teach in an underprivileged inner city school in Cardiff during the day and so I am offering my tutoring services after school hours.
Teaching Experience:
I completed the prestigious Teach First teaching and leadership programme have been a qualified teacher for 3 years teaching KS3 Science, KS4 Biology, Chemistry and Physics and A-level Biology. I also teach A-level Psychology and KS3 Wellbeing classes.
Tutoring Approach:
I love to teach using lots of verbal questioning and anecdotes to help understand the information. I use lots of images and mindmaps to help understand and recall this information and practise exam questions to consolidate the learning. I always alter my teaching towards the learners needs and therefore will alter the way I teach to support my student the best I can.
