Information About Chloe:

Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Chloe and I am a qualified Teacher of Science, working in a secondary school in Somerset. I have experience teaching Chemistry, Biology and Physics to GCSE level and Chemistry and Biology to both A-level and IB level. Prior to studying for a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Cambridge, I read Biochemistry at Cardiff University, graduating with First-Class Honours. This year, I am studying part-time for a Masters in Education at the University of Cambridge. I have tutored in my free time for several years now; at present I tutor three students in a selection of science subjects. I have a comprehensive range of teaching and learning resources and an excellent understanding of exam boards and specifications.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding my resources and approach to tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

At present, I am working as a Teacher of Science at a Secondary School in Somerset. I have experience in teaching Chemistry, Biology and Physics to GCSE level and Chemistry and Biology to both A-level and IB level. I have also taught science to KS2 students. I have extensive experience working with students with special educational needs, such as dyslexia, ADHD and anxiety, and those who speak English as a second language.

Tutoring Approach:

Science is the subject that equips adolescents with the answers to the most profound and captivating questions about the very essence of life. Although chemistry is my teaching specialism, I have a solid understanding in all foundations of science and strive to help students realise the fascinating interconnections that occur between the three disciplines, and the phenomena of the world outside the classroom. I have a strong imagination and sense of creativity and pride myself on an innovative approach to teaching and learning. I have always been commended on my ability to design and deliver engaging and interactive content; this is because I believe that science is best explored through the way it arises: exploratory, accidental, and informed by curiosity and intuition.

I am able to tailor my approach to the needs of individual tutees, both in terms of tution content and the learning process. For example, I am able to offer examination question practice for those who require support formulating answers and fun and game orientated resources for those who require some additional motivation!

I can tutor a combination of subjects, e.g the three sciences.

I am willing to tutor a group of 2-3. Please feel free to get in contact to talk about this more!
