Personal Description:

I have earned a Master's degree in Translation Studies from UCL and possess certification and substantial experience as an instructor in teaching Polish as a foreign language, catering to both adults and children from diverse ethnic backgrounds and proficiency levels. Additionally, I am actively engaged in theater translation research and work as a translator.

My primary teaching objectives revolve around enhancing my students' everyday Polish communication skills and fostering an appreciation for Polish culture. For GCSE and A-Level preparation, I tailor my instruction to align with exam requirements and adhere to the latest specifications. I not only offer one-on-one lessons but also facilitate group courses for students aiming to prepare for GCSE and A-Level Polish examinations.

Teaching Experience:

I have extensive experience instructing both youngsters and adults. My teaching history includes roles at various institutions, such as a Polish school in Belgium, specifically in Leuven, where I taught adults of Polish descent. Additionally, I currently serve as an A-Level and GCSE teacher at the Polish Saturday School in Amersham, where I instruct 14-year-old students. I've also worked with 7-year-olds at the Polish Social School in Ely near Cambridge, as well as individuals for whom Polish is a second language.

Furthermore, I've had the privilege of teaching children of the Polish diaspora across different age groups in England. I specialize in instructing children from mixed heritage backgrounds. Privately, I provide individual lessons and online courses to prepare children for their GCSE and A-level exams, consistently achieving excellent results for my students.

Tutoring Approach:

In my approach to GCSE exam preparation, I primarily rely on the textbook "Lekcje z Polskiego" authored by Makis Kozinska and Janusz Kulczycki. For adults interested in learning the Polish language, I utilize the textbook "Polish Step By Step" published by The Publishing House Glossa. My teaching philosophy emphasizes the significance of effective communication when acquiring a foreign language, and I therefore instruct students in contemporary Polish language usage.

To keep the lessons engaging and varied, I incorporate diverse materials from the internet, newspapers, and magazines. Leveraging my expertise as a professional translator, I encourage students to undertake translation exercises encompassing both literary and general texts.

For A-Level exam preparation, I exclusively focus on the following literary works: "Popiół i Diament" by Jerzy Andrzejewski, "Tango" by Sławomir Mrożek, "Katyń" by Andrzej Wajda, and "Przypadek" by Krzysztof Kieślowski. In terms of project preparation, I specialize in topics related to tourism, communism, and the resistance movement.
