Personal Description:
I am a Ph.D. student and a researcher in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition at the University of Kent. I am polyglot - I speak Spanish (mother tongue), English, German, Portuguese, Catalan, and a bit of French. I love learning foreign languages and teaching them as well. As an experienced teacher (and language learner myself) I know what works and what doesn't.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught at both primary and secondary levels in Spain, Portugal, and England. I have experience teaching at the university level in Germany (University of Bremen), and here at the University of Kent. I have taught Spanish as a foreign language as well as English Language and Linguistics. I have also worked as a Spanish, English, and German tutor. I hold a BA in English Language and Literature and an MA in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from the University of Barcelona (Spain). I gained my Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education at Kent. I am now working towards my Ph.D. whilst lecturing at the English Language and Linguistics department at UKC.
Tutoring Approach:
I customise my lessons according to the learner`s interests and abilities. Motivation is KEY to language learning, and so I always strive to create a stimulating learning environment and engage students using multimedia materials.
