Personal Description:
I am an experienced teacher and tutor of biology, chemistry and physics at GCSE and chemistry at A-level/IB.
Teaching Experience:
I am a secondary school science teacher, I qualified in 2002. I have been head of chemistry since 2004 and a assistant head of science. I have primarily taught GCSE and A-level since 2008. I have prepared students through my teaching and tutoring for careers and further educational courses in medicine, veterinary science, chemistry and the natural sciences.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring us very much student centric. I vary my approach according to each student abd their individual needs. The basic framework works much like in the classroom, the determination of weaknesses in the student's understanding, unpicking the problem, rebuilding the knowledge in an accessible way for the student and then application and practise of the skills learnt over the short and longer term.
For online tutoring I am able to show all that I am doing/writing, via technology, rather that just my face on webcam.
