Anna - Colchester tutor
Information About Anna:
Personal Description:
Hola! I spent my youth visiting, travelling and living in places such as Gibraltar, Spain and Mexico. I love the Spanish language and Latin American culture, cuisine and have just recently finished a travel adventure in South America. I love teaching Spanish and believe the most important aspect of teaching and tutoring is to instil and inspire a curiosity for learning outside the normal teaching time.
Teaching Experience:
I'm a fully qualified secondary school Spanish teacher (QTS 2010, NQT 2011) with 10 years of experience teaching KS3 and teaching and leading KS4 Spanish in the UK. I have experience teaching AQA GCSE Spanish in the UK, as well as IGCSE, DELE and IB Spanish abroad. I am currently teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5 Spanish but wish to offer private tuition in my out-of-school hours.
Tutoring Approach:
I have undertaken some private tuition for friends however this is a new opportunity for me. My approach to tutoring would be similar to my classroom teaching approach; approachable, FUN, active learning with a variety of activities and stimuli to encourage participation and progress in the 4 skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing. For younger years, I enjoy using songs and actions/movement as a tool for learning. For GCSE I like to focus on communication, often with role-play scenarios for practising key vocabulary based on a specific topic. I would encourage my students to read and develop skills of translation.
