Information About Sinead:


Personal Description:

I am qualified secondary school science teacher - with a strong passion for Biology and Chemistry . I have worked with both the Edexcel and AQA exam boards and so have a strong insight on exam questions and markschemes.



Teaching Experience:

I have taught science in a few secondary schoolS in the Manchester and Liverpool area and also recently completed some time teaching in the UAE. I have also privately tutored students each year outside of school - helping raise students predicted exam grades in each instance and giving students the confidence they may have been lacking. Some previous clients have also went in to study science subjects further after their exams as they had a new found love for the subject. I have experience teaching a wide range of students from SEN students , to students with behavioural difficulties , to Students lacking focus and motivation. I see the potential in all these students and aim to make science as engaging and enticing as possible making it easier for the student to access.



Tutoring Approach:

I use a variety of teaching methods as no two students are the same and have various learning styles . I aim to make science real- life to the students. I also focus on the wording of exam questions and how best to answer these questions based on the mark scheme and what the examiner is looking for to achieve maximum marks. Once pupils know how to confidently answer exam questions they find studying a lot easier as they have a focus now.

  • PGCE Liverpool Hope University in Science teaching - Biology Specialism
