Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic tutor with expertise in Accounting (all levels) and GCSE Maths and English.
I am a Chartered Accountant and University of Durham graduate, with significant experience working in Big 4 financial services.
In addition to standard syllabus tutoring, I also provide support to students for essay writing, professional email writing and job/ university applications.
I love sports and staying active!
Teaching Experience:
I have been a Private Tutor for 18 months, and have great feedback and results for all my students who sat GCSE and A Level exams in the summer of 2019. Students appreciate my specialised teaching approach and adaptability.
I hold a TEFL teaching qualification, obtained in February 2020.
I also have over 6 years of work experience at a Big 4 accounting firm. I have used the professional skills I have acquired to assist students with Essay writing, professional email writing and job/ university applications.
Tutoring Approach:
It is important to me that the student receives specialised lesson plans based on their strengths and weaknesses and is given the time and liberty to build their confidence through relevant practice.
I start lessons by understanding which parts of the syllabus/ modules the student is struggling with, before building a plan of action, with achievable milestones and targets for the student to hit before exams.
In addition to working towards exams, I like to discuss and advise on the student's progression through to A Levels, University and into employment.
