Personal Description:
I recently graduated my masters study of Cancer Sciences, with an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science. I have enjoyed tutoring at many levels over my years of education, from peer tutoring in high school, to undergraduate tutoring during my masters degree. I have a passion for passing on knowledge to students with the help of strong study skills, helping them to retain information to pass exams and other milestones. I specialise in Science tutoring up to, and including, degree level Biology. I also tutor Chemistry to A Level Standard, and Maths, English and Science to GCSE level.
Teaching Experience:
I have been a tutor to others throughout my education, allowing 5 years of personal tutoring experience. Most of my students have been at GCSE level, but I have had many A level students and degree level students.
Tutoring Approach:
I begin with a session to determine what the student wants to gain from sessions with me - we assess which areas and topics may need more work based on school assignments. This allows me to personalise the sessions to the student - reinforcing confidence in their strongest areas and building on the areas which they need most help in. Sessions may be built around past or present schoolwork, interactive sessions to reinforce teaching or study skills and relevant assignments to encourage active learning. I challenge myself and my students to find learning methods which work for them.
