Personal Description:
I am a 45-year-old Mum of 3 teenagers who loves her job being a teacher of young people. I live in Dunbar in East Lothian, 30 miles from Edinburgh. I usually tutor in my home in Dunbar, however I am prepared to travel up to 10 miles to tutor pupils in their own homes. I tutor online, in addition. I taught all the way through lockdown.
Teaching Experience:
I am an extremely experienced Modern Languages teacher, and have worked in various settings in Scotland, including primary schools, secondary schools, state schools and a prep school. I have been teaching for 16 years. My specialism is French; I teach National 5 and Higher French, and tutor pupils in my spare time. I teach S1 and S2 pupils German and have taught ESOL.
I spent a year teaching Support for Learning, focusing on literacy.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a great sense of humour and can relate to young people and their lives. Teaching is one of the greatest privileges of my life. I wouldn't do anything else.
I am good at putting pupils at ease, boosting their self-esteem, and being incredibly positive and fun. I form excellent relationships with the young people I teach.
