Personal Description:
Verified enhanced DBS check (March 2018): Clean and satisfactory.
Teaching Level: From KS2 to KS4 including GCSE.
Age group: any age, including adults.
Teaching Location: negotiable - wherever is most convenient for the student(s).
Rates:
• 1-1: £17/hr.
• Small groups: £10/hr/student. I am happy to teach up to and including 6 students.
My background:
After gaining 3 A levels (Pure Maths, Applied Maths and Physics), I worked as a Climate Data Analyst for the weather office for about 10 years where they sponsored me for my HNC Maths. I am also a financial technical analyst and have several years live trading experience. I have voluntary teaching experience abroad in refugee camps and orphanages. I also have teaching experience amongst friends and family.
Teaching Experience:
After many years of work experience, I am keen to pass on my knowledge. My teaching experience has been limited to friends and family and also to work holiday periods when I travelled abroad to teach in refugee camps and orphanages. I am keen to teach on a more permanent basis now.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is to build confidence in the student by ensuring they get the right knowledge, guidance and a lot of practice! Most people can understand, but due to lack of motivation, discipline and procrastination, they end up creating psychological barriers. Simply committing to a tuition session will help focus the mind. My job will then be to make sure the student gets the knowledge, guidance and practice they need to build their confidence and hence to succeed.
