Information About Lauren:
Personal Description:
I am a confident and easy going person, who has a passion for mathematics and helping others. I have a great deal of experience in dealing with children of all ages from my various teaching jobs, and helping them with their studies. I have graduated university with 2:1 Degree in Mathematics and Music. I am very good at communicating with people and posses the ability to appeal towards the younger generation with my fun personality, ensuring the student will want to learn in an enjoyable, yet efficient environment.
Teaching Experience:
I have been a secondary school maths teacher for the past 3 years so am very up to date with the new curriculum. I teach KS3 and GCSE level at a local secondary school.
I have also worked abroad in Reunion Island as an English teacher for 1 year and have taught Performing arts to students in America.
Additionally I gained a scholarship during university to teach music (trumpet and piano) to students at a local secondary school.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a passion for helping others and know what it feels like going through the process of SATs, GCSEs, AS Levels, A Levels, and University. I believe in a non-pressurised learning environment, which encourages the student to feel confident within their learning. If they are stuck on something I will support them, even if I have to go through it multiple times. Having trained as a teacher 3 years ago, I am extremely upto date in advances in pedagogical techniques which encompass all types of learners.
